Looking for a new Doc Wilkens and Smith the groundskeeper.

Bump.

I'd be interested in taking a crack at Smith. I'd have to catch up on the gameplay thread (should be able to do so this weekend without issue), what kind of specifics are you looking for in the meantime?

Character creation guidelines are available in the original post. You can look at some of the other players' sheets for a guide.
Also, they've just leveled up, so factor that in during creation.

Are you looking for an entirely fresh build, or a tweak/adoption of one that's already been used thus far?

Either is fine. Small adaptations are more seamless, but I let the players build the story specifically to add their own personality to it. So feel free to build up all new. But Smith has to be old and the groundskeeper.

I'd be glad to take on the role of Doc Wilkens.

Great. Let me know if you have any questions while building your character. And don't feel pressured to make a cleric, though you certainly can.

I'll read through the entire gameplay thread this evening, then sit down with HeroLab and build up a character that fits Doc's role in the story. I saw that Doc was already using channel to heal, and per character build rules that appears to be the only route to healing with spells being eliminated, is that correct? How would a very non-traditional Paladin with the lay-on-hands ability fit the game?

Definitely viable. I assume you read about morphine, correct?

Yes, I like the temp HP it grants, I was just looking to true healing. I'm assuming at 50gp a pop and the lack of easy availability would make morphine semi-rare?

For additional languages are Cherokee and Shawnee OK?

The skills listed for Doc are additional class skills, or the only class skills?

Any additional wealth above the 200gp start? Would Doc have had a chance to get a revolver, or should I stick with a pistol?

Morphine, like most things, is readily available in Greenville.
Only class skills, not additional.
Some loot has been found and some day jobs rolled, so I'll give you 250gp and let everyone roll a day job once we start back up.
The revolver is an option if you can afford it. Starting equipment is not limited by local availability.

Nice, I'll have the build up this evening for approval. I'm 500 posts into it, good story.

I present Doctor Wilkens for your consideration.

I'll probably change the last feat of Reward of Life to something else, I'll check it tomorrow and see if I missed anything obvious.

The idea is for him to be a hands-on healer to fill the heal-bot role and not to focus on combat, he's an actual doctor.

Very nice, Doc. Welcome aboard!

Thanks Cole, I believe we played together in Ryan's Skull and Shackles and Rise of the Rune Lords, glad we get another chance to adventure again.

Indeed, we did...great to see ya again. This game is alot of fun for those who have stuck it out.

I'll contact ElRojo to see if he's still interested. I'll also leave this open for other interest in Smith for now.

come on Smith, join us

Since I've not heard from ElRojo, I'm going to pass on him and leave the role of Smith open for now. Wilkens, proceed to discussion to check in.

Still calling for a new Smith! Post with interest.

About to start up gameplay again, but the role of Smith is still open.

Smith... Smith... Smith... (Bueller... Bueller... Bueller...)

Come on fan of history and unique stories, join our group in the role of Smith (or maybe Madman if he's wandered off again?)

I think he did.

Smith and Madman now available!

Really? Unbelievable. I am still here and ready to go.
