Hey, Effin Fixer, when are you going to make the final selections? I just have a bit more of story to do to explain how Mr. Fix-It also ended in Boston...

I still don't want to put a hard end-date on this, but I'd guess I'll choose the team by the end of the week, possibly sooner.

This still stands. I'm not sure just yet, but I'd expect to post my final selections a few days from now. Probably by Thursday or Friday on the outside.

Thankies! I just kinda figured because we have what amounts to a ton of runners at this point, you might have pushed the cut-off date forward.

Liberty's Edge

Ok,well if we do not really need a decker (or hacker) then I think I will stay with Le Roi for the time being....

Hey, here's my (JDPhipps) submission for the game. He's a combat character who's also very skilled in Decking. His contacts and backstory will be up soon, but the mechanics of the character are complete. The type of contact and what they can do will be included in their description.

EDIT: Just realized I forgot Knowledge Skills. I'll get to them when I do the full backstory.

Sovereign Court

Alright!

All done (I think? =)

And, yes, chummer was -quite- helpful. Couldn't have done it without it!

Of note, I realize I'm on an island here, but I actually prefer the priority method of dealing out stats than BP. Now mind you, I'm not talking crazy and saying that 5 is better than 3, 'cause that'd just be weird. ^_^

Also, she's be at the Stuffer Shack because symbiotes. My goal for this character is to see how many times she can work in the phrase, "So, you guys wanna eat after this?" =)

I like the priority method as well.

Liberty's Edge

Hate to say it, but so did I..lol This is good and all, but that system just seemed to help sharpen choices and such...sometimes too many choices can paralyse you when making a character..

As I already mentioned, not sure if it was lost in the shuffle or not, Gauntlet is out for a midnight food run so that Devi can have some semblance of breakfast before she goes to work at the local coffee shop.

Sovereign Court

I can't stand it anymore. Gaunlet looks like just too much fun. =)

Anya slowly walks along the Stuffer's 'Phat SnaX' isle, trying to decide between the sugar-covered Nutrisoy, and the new and improved REALegg* (*REALegg does not contain any actual egg or chicken product).

Her eyes light up as she finds the last two Choco-Tacos left. As she reaches for them, she notices a rather large troll in the same isle, mirroring her own look of Big Decision making. 'Ooo. Is that a she-troll?'

Feeling friendly, Anya says in her direction "Hoi chummer!" and lobs one of the Choco-Tacos at her. "My treat. And don't worry, that food won't be problematic," she finishes with a friendly wink.

Anya looks about to see if the Nutrisoy still looks tasty, and softly mutters, "Calm down." Sometimes her wires try to initiate combat, and it helps to talk herself down.

Gauntlet grabs the Choco-Taco and takes a rather curious look at it, raising an eyebrow at the human. "Hoi. Thanks," she says shortly, and stuffs the food into her pocket. She again eyes Anya up and down, looking rather curious. "Huh. How sharp are those warez? Don't see anything like that except on pros." Anya can see Gauntlet going into battle mode, looking at Anya a second time, watching for potential cover that could accommodate her mammoth body, and in general looking like she's had her nerves continually frayed over the past few weeks. "Nasty biz with that raid on the Azzie facility a few weeks back, huh? Can't believe that anybody would be stupid enough to take a job from Big L," she asks cautiously.

Sovereign Court

Anya decides on an economy sized package of freeze-dried YESbaconYES, then looks further down the isle at the beverages. She sizes up the varieties of the OffensivelyGood line, looking for a NuclearApple, but she'd take a ChernobylCherry if they happen to have it.
"Sub the zero, Ace," Anya says as the troll starts to smell of action and fuss. "Yeah, don't mean to brag, but I'm a little wiz-bang," she says with a smile. "Meh. Heard the Azzie thing were some Renrako-backed Ancients looking to to do some stuff for a thing. Big L got a bad rap, but jobs are as good as th' runner--Make your own luck, get Just Compensation, and Never trust an elf."

Anya takes a quick sniff of the air. Troll sweat, troll hair...vanilla and lavender, dried roses, and....ylang ylang?

Anya shoots the troll a quizzical look. "Speaking of which, why d'you smell like an elf. You find one to jam? Well played, ma'am, well played!" She says with an honest smile.

I switched around a few things on Phineas' sheet. Dropping Linguistics most notably. I think he's pretty much done beside some minor changes to fit in with other characters if chosen.

As for priority vs. BP vs. karmagen, this isn't the place for a real debate on the subject so I'll just agree to disagree.

Sylvie relaxes when Anya displays no knowledge of "the Run." In her mind, it was always capitalized. "Heh. Yeah," she says, scratching her head slightly. "I've personally always heard it conserve ammo, watch your back, and never deal with a dragon, but that works too."

The troll gives a small chuckle and opens the fridge, reaching for what appears to be a packet of InstaCherry Cereal. "D-She's got the early shift at the GalaxyBucks down the street. I got up for a midnight snack, saw the fridge was a complete wasteland, and ran out the door before the fridge closed. I may be tough, but she is vicious when she doesn't have anything to eat."

Something in Sylvie's back pocket rings, and she fumbles inside it, eventually retrieving a battered, off-brand commlink. Grimacing, she scans the screen. She hammers out a response to it, and starts outright scowling when it vibrates again.

Mr. Fix-It:

GrungeSmoothie: Gauntlet! Holy mother of f#@~, what the hell is happening! You die, I get a cryptic message to get out of town, and a few weeks later the goon squad batters down my door! They took out Walter before I made my escape!

flowerfist: i told you to get outta ther

GrungeSmoothe: Well, hey! Excuse me if I don't trust a weird message from a supposedly dead runner who tells me to run to the third-biggest a+$*!+* in the UCAS!

flowerfist: 2nd biggest look are you out of town

GrungeSmoothe: Whaddya think! I had to deal with Lucas to get on the flight. He groped me!

flowerfist: your heading here right

GrungeSmoothie: Damn straight I am!

flowerfist: good cuz the nuyen is starting to run dry

GrungeSmoothie: Hardy-har-har-har. See you.[/i]

I'm going to pull out of this one, I just can't find the inspiration to finish off the character. Hope y'all have fun.

I am in the middle of transferring everything from Chummer to Myth-Weaver Sheets so there is an online character sheet to reference.

I would have already been done but I had some home network issues to resolve. My home computer network is a little more complicated than most.

Sovereign Court

Anya scowls at the beverage selection. Lowering her standards, her eyes dart between the You Damn Dirty Grape! and Well Now, Ain't We A Pear?

Anya nods. "'She' eh? You play for the team of the pastries? That's chill. Back home RockOn had been known to smoke the sausage on occasion when we--" she stops speaking abruptly and her right eye opens and closes, like she's trying to shove down an exploding manhole with only the force of her eyelid.
She changes topics with the alacrity of a mafia don entering a witness protection program. "Ya, I've heard that thing about dealing with dragons, too. I think everyone has. Ha! Odd thing how many deals get done with them, eh? You hear about the recent unpleasantness in the Flux State? I heard there were -two- dragons in on that one! I tell ya, chummer, you get caught between two wyrms, yer gonna most like make some deals."

The troll gets a call and Anya's eyes wander up to the deals on bulk multi-pound REALmeat*, thinking about getting down to some serious eating.

*REALmeat, now with 100% soy byproduct!

Gauntlet sighs and pockets her commlink, before grabbing the packet of InstaCherry Cereal-Made With Natural Artificial Cherry Cereal!- she was eyeing before. "Yeah. Some crazy s~+$ about somebody trying to kill all dragons, right? He had to know that Big L would shut him down before that happened. Or maybe Lofwyr knew it was happening and waited for somebody else to take care of it for him. Who knows with Lofwyr?" Gauntlet shrugs. "Last job I took from SK was because my fixer's head would roll if Golden Boy didn't get what he wanted." She takes a few packs of chocolate snack cakes-100% Diet Free!-and a tub of ice cream.

The gargantuan she-troll pauses for a moment, rolling her neck, before taking a look at the items she grabbed. She reaches out to put them back, but a Native American-looking tattoo on her bulky right arm shifts slightly, and she gives a weary, resigned sigh before putting them back in the bag.

Wraith, just so you know, Dragonfall canonically takes place in ~2054, which is almost two decades before Shadowrun 4E, which is set in 2072. That's why you use things like cyberdecks instead of wireless commlinks, and why you need a datajack to use smartlinked weapons (you're connected to the weapon via a fiber-optic cable, as opposed to wireless broadcast). The game's epilogue actually implies some things about Dunzelkhan's death, and mentions the eradication of the Flux State.

I made a few changes to my character sheet, so reposting it again.

Gah! The anticipation is slightly increasing the rate of my senesence!

Alright everybody, this is perhaps a tad overdue and coming in a bit later than I'd hoped it would be, but between stuff to do this week and the amount and strength of the submissions, it took a little while to work through everything and make my selection. There were a lot of great characters here from everyone, and I wish I could play with more of you, but I've got to keep things to the point where I stay sane as well. So, RECRUITMENT IS CLOSED, and here are my selections in the order the tabs are open in right now:

JDPhipps--Nathaniel Kenson, "Paladin"
kamenhero25--Victoria Bateson, "Nix"
EmissaryOfTheNorth--Nicholas Smith, "Nick Sarge"
Ravalon Lightborn--Sylvie Staite, "Gauntlet"
aptinuviel--Phineas Madigan

As I said, strong submissions all around, but these five are my final choices. I'll be opening Discussion just after this post, so please check in there as soon as you're able! To the rest of you, good luck and see you around, and I'll keep people in mind if we need additional players or replacements or anything!

Good luck guys!

Sczarni

Congrats to those picked! Tear them shoggoths a fifth one!

Congrats folks, have a great game!

I mentioned before that I was thinking if I didn't get into this game that I might dust off an old storyline I was working up and I am interested in doing that, however, my life is a bit crazy so it wouldn't be a daily post thing...if anyone is interested, you can shoot me a PM for brief details, so that I can PM you back the recruitment thread when I set it up, and with any pre-thread questions you might have.
