"The Tinkerer" Dr. Bertram
fort save: 1d20 + 25 ⇒ (18) + 25 = 43
Bertram manages to beat the odds this time, as raw plasma coalesces around him from whatever epic ritual Baris just completed, the scent of ozone fills the air and with a "POP" it disappears, leaving Bertram leaning on the slab with steam coming off of his white-hot metallic carapace.
Baris the Monke
Yes, the cleric that the imp was following will soon be dead just like the rest. Now assuming those minutes are over, it is dead by Tate's weapon.
"Aaahhh man, I will never get used to that. Anyone got some restorative magics handy?" The little halfling asks.
"The Tinkerer" Dr. Bertram
"I have a few devices that may help. A few for simple wounds. I have one that is for more... permanent debilities, but I have used it quite a bit on myself today already. It gets.... testy, when over-used. In summary, I am not sure how useful it will be for you."
Bertram thinks for a moment. "Come to think of it, it has been quite the long and arduous day. Perhaps a bit of rest, if it can be found, is in order?"
Baris the Monke
"Yes a rest would be great, diamond dust, no fresh out." The halfling agrees with Bertram then giggles some at Alton. "Perhaps we can find some, it sure would be quicker if you took care of me first though. Heh, what you don't have a lesser restoration prepared?"
Alton VenRysn
"I do not "prepare" spells, rather they are an innate part of my being, nonetheless, I do know the spell, but Mr Bertram here looks like he would benefit more from stronger magics"
.....
meanwhile the imp loots the corps of the cleric he was following.
"The Tinkerer" Dr. Bertram
"ahh, given time, restful time, I can fix myself. Baris has performed a great ritual... I think. If he can use your magics, then don't fear for me. "
Azulth the Slayer
Azulth rests a moment as the last of the xill fall dead. "Well, that was interesting..." He then wipes his sword and dagger on one of them and sheathes them before beginning to search the bodies.
Perception: 1d20 + 28 ⇒ (14) + 28 = 42
Baris the Monke
Baris just lies down on the cool stone floor.
Unless one of you want to do anything specific hours pass by.
There are no obvious threats...
Azulth the Slayer
After gathering equipment from the xill, Azulth returns to a vantage point to see what's going on with the town, and he flies down if things seem strange.
GM Wolf
For anyone that is looking over the side...
No massive beasts roam.
Many of the Xill bodies still remain, the standard average size ones and the large ones, none of the clerics remain.
Looking closely at the bodies you see a strange rune that looks to be burned into the abdomen of the creatures. The larger ones have several runes burned around the original one, as if they give more power. With a detect magic, you can see the runes are still magical, though it looks to be fading.
Azulth the Slayer
"Well, now I really don't know what's going on. And if I miss that reception, I'm gonna be pissed." Azulth shakes his head and turns around, moving back to the group. "Anybody know what's happening?"
"The Tinkerer" Dr. Bertram
The cacophony having died down, The Tinkerer takes a leisurely walk to his quarters. Upon looking over the edge, he is unsure of what to think. His desire for rest is momentarily outweighed by his desire for an explanation.
GM what should i roll to see if i have any idea what has transpired? as well as what those runes are?
Alton VenRysn
The body quickly burns, leaving only ash and bones, which those seem to turn to ash, and the ash is blown away by an unfelt wind.
Sorry I guess I never posted this just left it.
Alton frowns, frustrated, this is an awful lot of trouble to keep them from either talking or being converted, hmm,
Alton casts create undead choosing JuJu Zombie as what to animate it as on one of the big ones, if it works he commands the creature to tell him why they were attacked| GM Wolf |
Fine Alton you imp can get some of the ash, and quick enough to you to restore the corpse.
Making a 'Juju' Zombie, whatever that means, of one of the large Xill. How can it speak?
If you want to know what the runes are, feel free to make what checks you want, though spellcraft, K: aracana, and K: planes I would think would be the best choices.
A check to know what has transpired? Int or Wis DC 20.
Baris the Monke
At hearing Azulth's yell, Baris will raise his hand. Though he is down in the temple under the tower, so Azulth would not see it. Others might.
Alton VenRysn
linkafied juju zombie for your convenience, they are essentially the zombie version of skeletal champions, as I am a juju oracle, most of my undead I make that I don't pay special attention to will be of this variety, as to how I will comunicate with it, nowhere does it say that they loose the ability to speak, and they retain their Int and wisdom, so I shall start with common then undercommon, then draconic then each of the aligned planar languages (infernal, celestian, abyssal etc) then sylvan to see which if any they understand
Alton VenRysn
master, progress, definite progress, hmm those markings, where have I seen those before

Though as the Cleric comes to, it begins casting spells. Fire begins whipping around the room. Alton Will Save DC 30, even if succeed you take 1d6 ⇒ 1 level drains.
The cleric is not a zombie but fully raised from the dead. The runes on it's body... the robes are gone and you can see all the runes all over its body, glowing brightly and growing brighter.
Alton, his imp, Baris, your minions, are in the temple.
The others are still outside and Bertram went to his quarters.
What do you do?
Alton VenRysn

you guys here that? let's get going! Can't be letting anyone set fire to this new building!
rushes out to see what's burning and what's casting at what, you can hear the "pain train" revving up as he runs
Woo woo!
Azulth the Slayer
Seeing as I can't fail that Perception check....
"Hm?" Azulth looks to Tate, who's rushing off. He quickly runs over and jumps with the man, grabbing on to him if his cloak doesn't work. Not sure whether it's dim light out or not. "Yes, let's stop whatever's burning."
GM Wolf
*Splatter*
It is noon. Rather bright out.
The two of you get to the archway that leads down to the secret room and all the fire and explosions has ended for a few seconds (a round). You see a burning Xill, dead on the ground. A large Xill, Alton, a imp, Baris on the ground weakly lifting his arm, and.... Alton would you be so kind to explain what other monstrosities are down with us in the room
Achroma
archoma sighs and follows after TTT and azulth.
Alton VenRysn
There are also metal automatons one man sized, in armor wielding an andamanite katana the other simply huge which is it's in game size
also, since it died via Canopic conversion in 1d4 ⇒ 4 rounds as a mummy with its organs in 4 Canopic jars,
He large xill looks to be some form of zombie.
Alton looks to the others as he gathers the jars "no need to be alarmed, m just in the middle of an interrogation of sorts"
"The Tinkerer" Dr. Bertram
Bertram, slow to rise even in great danger due to his exertions today, shows up late to the scene.
"is everything alright? Will I ever be able to rest?"
Baris the Monke
"Hey! Any of you got a lesser restoration to spare? I am spent." Baris asks nicely in his high pitched voice as Tate, Achroma, and Azulth get to the archway if not come down.
"Nope, no rest. He dealing with necromancy and it looks to be fighting back. HA!" Baris says in response to Bertram.
Alton VenRysn
"The efriti had a contingency in place and it required me to use higher tier magic than I would have liked for such a mundane task, but it appears to have expended itself, and I have put steps in place to avoid a repeat occurrence," he says absentmindedly running one of the jars "is there any question any of you would like answered that they could answer? If so I shall ask them for you, otherwise I was having this one tell me who sent them here and why." he turns to barris "if you can wait a few minutes I shall have you healed in just a moment"
Terrible Terry Tate
Does this erfreeetee have any clue where Billie is, and why on earth are all these little small fry constantly mucking up this place?
"The Tinkerer" Dr. Bertram
INT: 1d20 + 14 - 4 ⇒ (16) + 14 - 4 = 26

spellcraft: 1d20 + 47 - 4 ⇒ (10) + 47 - 4 = 53
"Yeah, no rest. Might as well start work on my improved restorative device, especially if this is to become a trend."
Achroma
archoma looks at the undead, absolutely disgusted.
"Vile abominations..."
Achroma
"They are horrible creatures, defiling the body and soul of the victim."
Achroma
"There is no "right" way to make undead. They are all abominations, and should be killed quickly. Nonetheless, i cannot fight you. You are an... ally."
archoma is quite upset, practically choking on the word ally.
Terrible Terry Tate
Tools are tools, their souls are intact and safe in their gods hands... who cares what is done to their bodies.
their souls are not present right....?
Alton VenRysn
Alton opens his mouth, then closes it thinking of how to explain it to the boisterous man "in a way, no, but also yes, the way most necromancers animate the bodies with a reflection of the soul composed of negative energy... are you following what I am saying?
