Combat done, Kito gets out the wand.
First she uses it on Turel.
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2 "Boo Boo, Be Gone!"
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 "Boo Boo, Be Gone!"
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5 "Boo Boo, Be Gone!"
Then on Polux.
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 "Boo Boo, Be Gone!"
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2 "Boo Boo, Be Gone!"
Last, but certainly not least, Qari.
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7 "Boo Boo, Be Gone!"
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8 "Boo Boo, Be Gone!" 23 charges left
Yell if I missed you. I did check the profiles on the character page, but not everyone has always updated them.
"We are most likely going to need a new wand after this! We have used slightly more than half the charges."
Qari Falexia
Qari felt the healing of the wand rush over her, and her wounds began to knit. "Thanks for the heal. I'll definite contribute to a new wand. That thing is a life saver. I don't have any idea which way the Hand went, but I've got a feeling they will come find us soon enough."
Deseri
Shaking her head, But we do not know where they are in this building. We could wait at the door or split up to cover more ground.
Looking over at Harmose, We could use the spell that lets us all speak at great distances, right?
Polux
"Thanks Kito" - Polux nods - "You can count on my gold for another such wand" - he winks.
"I don't like the idea of us splitting Deseri - if things turn sour..." - he lets the thought hang - "Let us see, shall we?" - then begins to circle around the passages, listening for any sounds.
Going clockwise.

Qari Falexia
"Who knows if they have hired more muscle? If all of them are gathered together, any of us scouting alone would be easy pickings. Make those cowards fight us all at once, I say!"
Kito the Scholar
"Don't assume they are cowards." Kito replies.
"They are focused on exploring this place. It just makes sense to get someone else to fight us, gives them more time to explore. That doesn't mean they will avoid a fight when we do find them."
While she is saying this, Kito goes to each of the passageways trying to find any indication of which way to go. She will shine her light a short distance down each direction.

Deseri
Crossing her arms and frowning, If we stick together we might never find them. That is why i mentioned it. These places have a lot of halls and turns. Yes it is more dangerous but there is also a higher chance we will actually find them.

"You're cute when you frown" - Polux chuckles even as he listens at each exit - "I still don't like the idea though. But if you guys want to do it..." - he shrugs.

Throwing a confused look at Polux, Are you one of those people who only like it when everyone is angry? The way she says 'it' seems to imply a more intimate setting.
Ra-Khefer
|
Ra frowned at Deseri's proposal.
"I don't like it." He said bluntly. "Any one of us that makes contact would be crushed, facing all five at once."
He arched an eyebrow at Deseri.
"Why are you so concerned about missing them? It's not like we have to comb a thousand square miles of desert."
Deseri
Looking over at Ra-Khefer, It was an option. Not the best one. And I was under the impression that we wanted to handle this quickly instead of giving them a chance to leave this place. If we miss them here it is a lot harder to prevent them from stealing whatever they find.
Kito the Scholar
Kito hesitates before suggesting "If it is truely that important, perhaps Wenet or Thera could stay near the entrance and watch."
Deseri
Sighing and shaking her head, I am not sure that would be necessary. It was only a option. I do not like any of out options.

Throwing a confused look at Polux, Are you one of those people who only like it when everyone is angry? The way she says 'it' seems to imply a more intimate setting.
"Not 'only' when everyone is angry" - Polux turns back to look at Deseri from behind is cowl.
Kito hesitates before suggesting "If it is truely that important, perhaps Wenet or Thera could stay near the entrance and watch."
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15
"No point in risking the safety of Thera in my opinion" - Polux nods at Kito - "I say we move faster than they do, and we will catch up to them for sure" - he smiles - "If everyone shuts up and give me a chance to listen, of course..." - the scout jests.
Deseri
Crossing her arms and sticking out her tongue at Polux be she keeps quiet.
Kito the Scholar
Kito looks relieved when Polux says there is need to leave Thera behind.
"I don't see any signs of them. Straight up the middle?"
Turel Garaldo
Turel shakes his head. "That is what they expect us to do here Kito. I say we do the unexpected and take the right passageway."
Harmose Al-Nefer
Harmose nods. "It's as good a direction as any. Right it is!"
Then he messages Des and Polux in a laughing whisper. "You're both gorgeous but very distracting... After this is done, please, go get a room."

Right side of map revealed.
An immense tiled pool, empty and no more than two feet deep, lies beneath a vaulted ceiling covered with images of celestial beings. Four columns stand beyond the pool to the northeast, each carved to represent one of the four primal elements. A ring of hieroglyphs encircles the base of each pillar.
A small shrine occupies a raised dais in the north of this room. Two waist-high fonts stand on either side of the altar, and a small wooden cabinet is bolted against the eastern wall. Two rows of stone benches stand to the south of the dais. A fetid odor permeates the room.
The southern area of this large space contains a long stone table, two benches, and two wooden hutches. Just visible behind a partition wall to the north is a kitchen with tables, cabinets, and a stove in the corner. Around a corner to the south stands a stone enclosure with a rounded top and a hatch set in the front.
D4 contains two brown-robed figures, perhaps priests, who motion vigorously at the raised dais in the north of D4. They speak something:
Qari Falexia
Perception 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
"That large dais up there looks like some sort of altar. I can't be sure what kind because it's been defaced pretty badly. That awful smell gives me an idea of how it's been marred."
Turel Garaldo
As the party approaches the chapel Turel sniffs the air cautiously, adding "That smells recent. The Hand? But why would they deface that altar?" On seeing the 'priests' his eyes widen and his hand strays to his spear but upon seeing they are not immediately hostile he waits for the others to translate their words.
Kito the Scholar
Perception w/Thera: 1d20 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 1 + 2 = 19
Nodding, Kito points to the two figures and says "They are calling out in Ancient Osiriani for us to come look and help them."
Looking to the others, she asks "Is this another haunt?"
She directs her lights over to where the two people are so that she can better the dais.
Moved myself forward on the map.

With the dais well lit, it's easy to see that the altar has been defaced, but so long ago that the impact of the desecration has lost much of its shock value. Except to the priests, it appears, who keep pointing to it vigorously and calling out for help repeatedly in Ancient Osiriani.
Kito the Scholar
"My own inclination is to try and clean up the alter. It was a sacred place, and should not be left like that." Kito replies nervously.
Looking to the group, she asks "May I tell them we will help?"
Deseri
Harmose nods. "It's as good a direction as any. Right it is!"
Then he messages Des and Polux in a laughing whisper. "You're both gorgeous but very distracting... After this is done, please, go get a room."
Grinning over at Harmose and whispering back, I will try that.
Moving to follow the others from her place in the back, which always has a nice view. But when they get to the next room that smell ruins any happy thoughts and feelings. So if they did it then we are no showing them mercy for the defecating desecration, right?
Aleris Somciel
"I say we try to help them," Aleris suggests softly. "Maybe this and other things that happened here scarred them so much that they can't leave until things are put right."
"I know it's dangerous too, so maybe only a few of us approach and the others stand ready in case this is a trap instead of restless spirits."
Polux
Crossing her arms and sticking out her tongue at Polux be she keeps quiet.
"That is not any less distracting" - Polux mumbles to himself.
Harmose nods. "It's as good a direction as any. Right it is!"
Then he messages Des and Polux in a laughing whisper. "You're both gorgeous but very distracting... After this is done, please, go get a room."
"Will do Sir" - he whispers back with a chuckle.
When they are in the Chapel:
"So basically we are looking at another haunting? Or something different?" - the scout echoes Kito's earlier question - "I can keep at the ready but... I don't like the looks of this"
Knowledge (Religion?): 1d20 + 8 + 1d6 ⇒ (14) + 8 + (4) = 26
Harmose Al-Nefer
Harmose cannot bear to see the altar defaced.
Knowledge Religion: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25
If his knowledge roll indicates that this is the correct course, he approaches and starts to prestidigitate it clean.
Qari Falexia
Qari is happy to pitch in and try to remove as much of the filth as possible from the altar.
Kito the Scholar
Seeing Harmose and Qari move forward, Kito says in Ancient Osiriani "We will help you!"
Please let me be wrong! Please let there be nothing using this as bait for their trap!
She seems very nervous as she moves forward to help as well.
Perception w/ Thera: 1d20 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 1 + 2 = 6 Evidently so jittery that she misses any real dangers!
Turel Garaldo
Updated position on the map.
Turel silently takes position next to the doors outside the chapel, watchful for an ambush.
Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10 Add +2 if trap or +4 if stone trap.
Heh...looks like Deseri's pillow talk sufficiently distracted Turel here ;)

Between Polux and Harmose's excellent Knowledge rolls, you feel certain that this is a trap or ruse of some kind, so you approach in a prepared manner. The creatures reveal their ruse once you get close enough, but because you expected it, there is no surprise round. The brown-robed priests shed an illusion that makes them look like living fleshy humans and reveal their true skeletal faces. They are undead called huecuvas. Huecuvas are the risen corpses of heretical clerics who blasphemed and renounced their deities before meeting death.
Due to your excellent Knowledge rolls, you know that huecuvas' claw attacks have disease, and they have DR 5 that is bypassed by magic or silver weapons.
Huecuva Init: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15
Turel Init: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21
Kito Init: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (17) + 0 = 17
Aleris Init: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20
Qari Init: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9
Harmose Init: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (4) + 11 = 15
Polux Init: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Deseri Init: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20
Ra-Khefer Init: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (20) - 1 = 19
Please check that your init modifiers are correct, I took them directly from your statline under your name.
Turel, Kito, Aleris, Harmose, Deseri and Ra-Khefer may act. Qari and Polux only after the huecuvas' turn.

Seeing the illusion dissolve, Kito decides she is much too close to the hideous things.
She runs to get behind Qari and then focuses misfortune on the closest one.

Turel Garaldo
Turel glances back at him making sure there was no other members of the Scorched Hand watching this unfold before he sprints into the room and leaps over the low benches to maneuver around the huecuvas and in a position to flank it.
Double move to position on map so as to avoid any AoOs.
Acrobatics, if needed: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16

"Forsworn! Traitors to God and People alike!" Snarled Ra as he spun up his flail.
Ra hustled forward and swung his flail at the upper left one in a power attack.
Flail attack: 1d20 + 8 - 1 ⇒ (11) + 8 - 1 = 18 for a possible 1d10 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 6 + 2 = 14 adamantine bludgeoning damage.
Polux
After Aleris shot, Polux moves forward, to strike at the closest of the creatures, drawing his silver weapon - "Be careful as their attacks can carry disease. And use silver if you have it"
I think I can move in on either of them, but will try to target the one not stunned - not sure which one it is though :P
Silver Plated Morningstar: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
Damage if it hits: 1d8 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17
Samy

Geez, how do you get +9 to damage! Either way though, Ra-Khefer, Aleris and Polux all hit, and the non-stunned huecuva is dead meat, pun intended.
The stunned one doesn't get to take any actions for five rounds. While technically you can't coup de grace a stunned creature, I think within five rounds, it's pretty much a given that you can do enough damage to it to beat it to bits. I'm not going to make you actually roll the rolls.
On the first round, you kill the non-stunned huecuva, and on rounds 2-5 the stunned one.
Combat is over.

A few ceremonial religious tools, including a silver chalice, a silver ritual knife, and a tithing box, are scattered across the floor. All are slightly damaged and dented. The wooden cabinet, which once held these items, is undamaged and empty. Though damaged, the religious articles are still solid silver. The knife can be used as a silver dagger with the broken condition. The chalice is worth 30 gp.

The southern area of this large space contains a long stone table, two benches, and two wooden hutches. Just visible behind a partition wall to the north is a kitchen with tables, cabinets, and a stove in the corner. The hutches in the dining area contain stoneware plates and other tableware, while the kitchen cabinets hold a variety of metal cooking utensils and flatware. The stone enclosure in the corner is an indoor granary whose contents long ago turned to dust.
