Zadeh doesnt really have much in the way of damaging attacks himself, he mostly kills things with his summons.

I have a strange idea. What would happen if Marcus triggered a Feather Token: Tree above the Kudimmu?

Just a quick check in to let you all know that my father is nearing the end I think. Thanks again for botting me as needed. I'll post in gameplay again when I can.
Géatan Émond |
Yes, we are sorry for you.
Géatan Émond |
I just have an idea. (Too late but...) You could have cast dimension door to teleport me close to this créature.
Arillia Kaenath |
Do we know that it remained above ground for a turn & do we know roughly where it is? Because I could do that if it is a reasonable move.
Géatan Émond |
ARGH! I just realise we could use Arilla fire to destroy the barrier ARGH!!!
We could have finish this fight last round!

Magical fire takes 10 minutes to burn away Wall of Thorns.

We could start trying to dispel the walls but I am a bit protective of my spell slots. The elementals should get it eventually, they stick around for 15 minutes.
Géatan Émond |
I am just waiting for him that he stop moving for now.
Zuckerman's Famous |
Are we clearing the way so that other pathfinders can follow us? I think we are spending a lot of resources on this tree that isn't holding a key position or guarding a doorway. He is just here and we ran into him. I would help but without my sneak attack I do 1d3+1 damage with the weapon that can hurt him. I think we can out run this thing while the rockmen punch him real hard.
I know that this thing is very evil and we should kill it but we haven't gotten inside the Spire yet. I don't want us to get to the end and our casters (who are doing a lot of work) have nothing left. That would be bad.
Géatan Émond |
it is worth while discussing. I think that everyone is responsable for the ressources and if they don't want the ressources anymore, they can retreat.
GM Cwethan |
You are clearing a way so that other pathfinders can follow, and the orcs can retreat, but you can instead just recommend that absolutely no one go near the evil tree - it won't count as a table success, but won't have any other negative consequences. Particularly since this thing is territorial towards an area a little smaller than a battle map. It probably won't even chase you since its best abilities (healing, burrowing, and teleporting) don't function if you get outside of its particular field of earth.

We can take it down. I am not using any spell slots and Arillia has loads.
Marcus Samuel |
It's mostly a patience game at this point. It's wounded and we're hitting it. We just need to be careful with our own HP.
Agata |

My father passed peacefully on Monday and I drove 14 hours to home yesterday (no funeral due to the pandemic). Resting up now and catching up on things while I self-quarantine for the next couple of weeks. No need to bot me any longer as I should be able to check in again, though it will probably take me a bit to get caught up on where the game is.
A question for the GM: since Sweet Mawd has not been doing anything with her actions, is it acceptable to say that she's been using a Wand of Cure Light on Agata each round since she got hit? And if so, how many rounds would that be? No worries if that's too much of a retcon.
Also, can someone remind me what we know about the creature's immunities? Usual plant immunities - anything else?
I think Agata has already successfully put Retribution on it. Has she tried Misfortune yet?
Géatan Émond |
Wait. I have receive a lightning without a reflex save?
Arillia Kaenath |
Saw the Overseer announcement. Are we done with the tree then?
Géatan Émond |
I knew we Will meet an immortal ichor those thing are made to irk ranged attack. Luckely, we hsve slashing person.

Quick Aid Token follow up for Gaétan and Agata - your Spellcaster Aid PCs each get to pick a spell from the following list to provide to their destination tables (at a CL equal to their character level):
Consecrate
Heroism
Invisibility
Mage armor
Neutralize poison
Remove blindness/deafness
Remove curse
Restoration (100-gp version)
If you choose Restoration you can either choose to pay the diamond dust cost off of your Spellcaster, or you can leave it for the recipient to pay - either one's fine.
Thanks!
Agata |
I'm posting here, instead of gameplay, to avoid cluttering that thread. Because I've been off in real life, I missed posting the various buffs that Agata would have cast before going through the portal. For simplicities sake, I hope it's ok to say that she's casting them now (i.e. just after the fight with the tree creature, and before this next fight - I started writing this earlier today but then got called away by actual work).
--- buffs before teleporting ---
* As previously mentioned, Agata uses the Major Ameliorating hex on everyone in the party, suppressing any blindness or curse effects that might occur on them for 16 minutes.
* Agata would have cast Overland Flight (16 hours) before being teleported.
* Agata cast extended Delayed Poison Communal, 32 hours duration divided between all of us (7, I think?), so 4.5 hours duration from being teleported.
* Agata cast Merge with Familiar (16 hours duration)
--- buffs cast after the tree fight ---
* Agata cast extended Heroism on herself and Sweet Mawd (320 minutes duration from the tree fight). She has 3 more casts of Heroism available for other party members. Please let me know if anyone else took one of these while I was offline, or if you would like it now.
* Agata cast Defending Bone on herself (16 hours duration), giving her DR 5/Bludgeoning.
* Agata cast Extended See Invisibility on herself after the tree fight (320 minutes).
* Agata cast Extended Investigative Mind on herself after the tree fight (320 minutes). GM, on her next 16 Knowledge checks she rolls twice and takes the better result.
* Healing up after the tree fight: Agata took 69 points of damage; 10 of those would have been her temp hp from Heroes' Feast, leaving her with 59 dmg. After the fight she uses 6 charges of a wand of infernal healing to fully heal herself. The she casts False Life on herself.
False Life: 1d10 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17
Also:
* We still have the option of having Sweet Mawd casting commune at some point (10 minute casting time), though at this point I'd suggest we just wait until/unless we run into a puzzle of some sort.

GM, I'm a little unclear about how this works. All three of my Aid PCs are casters (Sorcerer 9, Wizard 10, Warpriest 9). But the Warpriest tends to fight more than cast, so I wrote Muscle on the form, so I guess he doesn't count for this?
Do I need to make rolls for them? Regardless, they'll each send Heroism.
And do we still have access to any of the aid tokens that we've received or have we used them already? Is there a list of which ones we have anywhere?
GM Cwethan |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |
Their actual class isn't relevant, just that you selected Spellcaster as their Aid Roles; so Tull doesn't need to pick anything. No rolls are necessary to provide Heroism, but if you wanted to provide Break Enchantment, Restoration (1000 gp version), or Dispel Magic then that would need a Potentially Dangerous roll for either of them to do so.
Current Aid Tokens for your table:
Type: Coordinated Maneuver
Generated By: Hawthorne Candlewood
Heroic? Yes
Effect: Hawthorne Candlewood, a hairless half-elf with a wicked glaive, assists a PC in performing a combat maneuver or attack roll. The PC must choose to use this Aid Token before rolling. If they do, they can roll twice and take the better result. Since this is a heroic token, the benefit lasts for the rest of the PC’s turn.
Type: Provide Spellcasting (Restoration, 100gp version. PAID)
Generated By: Bristor Gwin
Heroic? No
Effect: Spellcaster Aid Character: Chabon, caster level-12, the Aid Character has paid the 100gp cost.
Arillia Kaenath |
Agata's post reminded me that Arillia didn't put Shield up again before we entered this chamber & I think it would have run out. Maybe? Things last a while at higher levels. For the moment I've reduced Arillia's AC. If it would still be up or if I can just recast, let me know.
Marcus Samuel |
Marcus would like a heroism.
I forgot to list his wand rolls. I'm assuming he could get someone in the party to use it. Otherwise he's +18 UMD.
Wand CLW, Fey Foundling, Fast Healer: 1d8 + 1 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 + 2 + 1 = 10
Wand CLW, Fey Foundling, Fast Healer: 1d8 + 1 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 + 2 + 1 = 8
Wand CLW, Fey Foundling, Fast Healer: 1d8 + 1 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 + 2 + 1 = 5
Wand CLW, Fey Foundling, Fast Healer: 1d8 + 1 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 + 2 + 1 = 9
Zadeh Ibn Jad |
Zadeh can activate any wand you want without fail.
Géatan Émond |
I am sorry for being late. I had work and a game...and i still will need to work and have a game. So i suggest you will bot me.
Agata |
Agata will mark off a Heroism cast on Marcus. 160 minutes duration unless you have an extend rod.
Arillia Kaenath |
I don't know if it is my plan, but do I have Tally's permission to burn her square since she is sharing it with the ooze? We are having trouble finding ways to actually hurt that thing.
If your own attacks prove effective, then we can ignore my request.
Marcus Samuel |
GM, you noted that Marcus's wounds are Hard to Heal, but noted a curse effect. Can you tell me how that would react with the fast healing Marcus can get from his boots?
Agata |
GM, if Agata were to use the Ice Tomb hex (I think I recalled that it's resistant to cold, not immune?) on the ooze would that also affect Tally?
GM Cwethan |
Hmm... That's a slightly odd interaction, since Fast Healing is an outgrowth of Natural Healing, which wouldn't work at all... but since the boots are a magical effect with a caster level I'd allow them to try. It's a caster level check in any case though, which isn't the boots' forte...
You'd be able to pick the ooze as a separate target for spells/effects like Ice Tomb. I'd imagine that her hands would get uncomfortably cold as it happened, but no game effects. It was identified as resistant, not immune to cold, though if it's resistant enough to take no damage, it would not be imprisoned per the Icy Tomb FAQ.
Agata |
I'm a little tempted to cast Greater Possession on it - just cause it'd be so funny to go through the rest of the scenario as an ooze - but I've never used that particular spell and am somewhat unclear on what would happen. I think I'd still be able to use my hexes, but not my spells or magic items?
Zuckerman's Famous |
I was going to say that oozes are immune to mind effects, but Possession does not have that tag. Your body would flop on the ground helpless and y i would gain the physical stats of the creature. You could use your hexes and other supernatural abilities, and you would get its compression and it’s other innate abilities (but not supernatural stuff or spell like stuff).
As an aside, a 42 doesn’t overcome the CMD of an ooze? I’m impressed.
Agata |
Probably has Freedom of Movement?
Zadeh Ibn Jad |
Greater possesion does not leave your body behind, it merges with the target. Hexes are SU and should be useable. Spells would not work as I dont think it can speak and has no hands. I am not sure you could see at all either as it is an ooze and I am not certain you get its senses.
If you are successful, your life force occupies the host body. The host’s soul is imprisoned with you, but can still use its own senses (though it can’t assert any influence or use even purely mental abilities). You can communicate telepathically with the host as if you shared a common language, but only with your consent. You keep your Intelligence, Wisdom, Charisma, level, class, base attack bonus, base save bonuses, alignment, and mental abilities. The body retains its Strength, Dexterity, Constitution, hit points, natural abilities, and automatic abilities. A body with extra limbs doesn’t allow you to make more attacks (or more advantageous two-weapon attacks) than normal. You can’t activate the body’s extraordinary or supernatural abilities, nor can you cast any of its spells or spell-like abilities.

Its massive profane bonus to AC likely also adds to its CMD.

Go for possession! Just Wait that he is no longer fortunate.
PS. That why i keep my clasp all the Time!but is Time for à fire ball i think.
GM Cwethan |
Sorry for the delay - an untimely migraine meant that I had a large chunk of time yesterday where screens really weren't an option :-x

You definitely don't get any activated abilities... I think senses would probably work though.
The loss of spellcasting/equipment would be the big hit.
Zadeh Ibn Jad |
Can I just check what alignment people ae and if you would object to being included in the area of multiple empowered orders wrath spells.
Arillia Kaenath |
Arillia is good aligned
