As you enter with the light -- leaving anyone who stays in the darkness -- you can see several more pillars deeper in the hall and perhaps what looks like another door at the far end.

A rippling pool of water reaches halfway into the room from the southern wall. It looks like a wooden pier once extended into the pool, but all that remains now are several rotting wooden pilings protruding from the water. You can also see something floating among the pilings, though you can't make out what from this vantage point.

As you near the pool, you see it is in fact a body floating there. But before you can get any closer, five dog-sized crabs come scuttling out of the pool, claws clacking!

I don't think you can multiply. You simply do 2d6+6, as you seem to have done, instead of 1d6+3. I believe that's how crits work, anyway. From the PRD: Multiplying Damage: Sometimes you multiply damage by some factor, such as on a critical hit. Roll the damage (with all modifiers) multiple times and total the results.
