Oh, man. This is priceless. He's straining hard to hide it, but he's finding her reaction funny. Doesn't take a genius to figure out why - this is the most response most people would have ever seen from her to someone showing up. "Don't worry about it. People never do." He shrugs, and smiles a smile that doesn't reach his eyes. "I'm Locke. Kind of a nobody to people." He gives a mental sigh at that. And ain't that the truth.
"Nice to meet you...?" It was one thing her not knowing him, but acting like he didn't know her might be even more interesting from what he was aware of. He keeps a straight face, and watches carefully for her reaction.
Eliza Cunningham
Eliza swallows down her surprise and (surprising even her) anger that he doesn't know who she is. Everyone knows who she is. Still, it wouldn't do to show him that this bothered her. She daintily extends a hand to him to shake.
Eliza Cunningham. Are you new here?
Being new is no excuse. She's not the queen of the school like Aldrea but...she's a known quantity, you know?
Locke Farrell
This was perfect. She wasn't showing how she felt, but he just knew he was getting a response from this. Time to take it and run with it. "Nope, can't say I am. I'm surprised I get asked that so often." And with that, any semblance of an excuse goes. He (apparently) didn't know who she was, and he wasn't even new to be able to have that as an excuse. If he pushed enough, he might get a rise from her at this rate.
Hell, I make her angry enough, she might even recall who I am later.
He takes her hand and shakes it. He was going to be polite, he was going to do nothing offensive, he was going to run with this in the most infuriating way possible until she read the note and realised that he'd been spouting b@$*~#+*. After that...who knows? "Anyway, this isn't about me, isn't it? Weren't you talking to Aldrea?" Let's see how this went down. He was trying to shift attention off her, and show he knew about Aldrea and not her. It might not be the same insult due to Aldrea's status, but when he recognised everyone BUT Eliza? Not so much.

Oooh, that one gets her to inhale a little bit.
Eliza doesn't even breathe. This is the closest to "bothered" that you've ever seen Eliza get in your time of watching her.
Well, I'm glad to meet you now. And yes, I was talking to my friend
She stops abruptly. She's been so thrown by this Locke guy that she's totally overplayed her hand with Aldrea. They're not friends, stupid! She's her history partner. Is this what it's like for everyone else who tries to talk to her.
She has to cover.
And if you're quite done caressing my things and interrupting our conversation, I'd like to get back to working out our project. I'm sure your partner misses you desperately.
2d6 + 2 ⇒ (3, 5) + 2 = 10
Giving him the condition: Marked. That's actually good for him, because he's probably made her angry enough that she'll actually remember him. Not so good because she's a vampire. That being said, there's a thin line between love and hate. May as well get a ruling now. Volsung, does feeding off of someone considered "physical intimacy" for the purpose of Locke's sex move
Locke Farrell
Locke delivers the biggest s!&%-eating grin he has. PERFECT. Just what I needed. He doesn't know if she's figured it out yet or if she was just that frustrated, but she was definitely showing more than she would usually. As far as he was concerned, even if this didn't work out, it was comedy gold. "I'm sure they would, if I had one. This is the most attention anyone's given me in forever. Thanks, Eliza." Despite his look, the words were genuine. He didn't care if she hated him. Had to start somewhere. He winks at her, just to cement him in her mind.
I presume there's a move there but I don't know what: 2d6 ⇒ (5, 1) = 6
With that he walks out of the room, proclaiming loudly "Have fun with your friend, Eliza!" as he does so.
Run Away, if needed: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (5, 3) + 2 = 10
Nobody would even remember he was there in a moment, let alone anything he did. Things would go on as normal. He knew nobody in the room would recall his leaving words, but it ought to drive Eliza nuts. And if she said anything...man, would she look crazy.
Assuming she remembers...hopefully she will. I am not going without seeing her expression if she actually remembers me next time.
You really wanna keep tabs on me, huh? Awww, how sweet. I think I broke the Ice Queen a little.
Eliza Cunningham
1 person marked this as a favorite.
Eliza is so shaken by the encounter, she doesn't even think to pick up the book. Instead, she tries to use the incident to break the ice further with Aldrea.
Can you believe that a%~&~#+?
That was masterful, Locke. You played on ALL of Eliza's buttons. Of course, the last people who threatened her unlife were murdered by a Witch sooooooo
Locke Farrell
You have no idea how funny I found all of this. It's going to be even funnier if Aldrea decides I didn't make enough of an impression to stick in her memory. Which I REALLY hope she does.
Do remember I never threatened your unlife. Just your social life - mainly by goading you into actions that are going to seem very strange now I've left the room and everyone's had their head wiped. You think that's bad, wait until other people start giving you dodgy looks the moment you complain to them and you're left wondering if I was even there in the first place. Even if people don't remember my presence or the things I say or do, they sure as hell can notice the aftermath. I KNOW what I'm doing.
Can I say that I really can't wait till you read the note? I mean, you're mad enough, wait until you're guessing how much of your secrets he has.
Coming and going, a passing shadow. Nobody knows who they are, if they really exist. The Blackmailer. The Poltergeist. The Voyeur. They have been known by these names, and many more besides for their actions in the places they visit. But of all their names, the one that fits them best...is The Phantom A$#!$@&.
Matthew Emmanuel
Matthew watched the conversation with the vampire and the strange boy for a short time. He didn't know him, nod remembered an individual likd him. He could've been a friend of.Slza, but Matthew didn't know her that well.
When he left, Matthew's mind wanders off to Already, her partner, forgetting the boy altogether. The queen bee of the school as some believe. Charisma like she had could win SGA in a landslide. People like her, something to look into, to study, to control.
William Gardner
Man you guys are fast...
William smiles, glad to know someone like Sam is kind enough to greet him.
"Hey Sam. No, I don't think I've seen Kai around."
Is that my decision or the DM's? If it's mine, then sure, based on our prior experience.
"What with that guy anyway? Do something to make him mad?"
DM Volsung
Eliza & Locke
Jesus. okay, so in order: I think the circumstances of the feeding decides that, so We'll take it case by case. and the move you're looking for, locke, is shut someone down, that was a pretty well executed sut down too
Eliza and Aldrea
after Locke has left, but not too far into your planning, Mr. Pryce approaches you Aldrea, Eliza, I am so glad you to choose to work together. However, I happen to know that both of you have developed a reputation in your underclassmen years, and I would like to remind you that your work must be your own... Understood?. Are there allegations founded, and what do you do?
Sam & Will
Speak of the devil, as you two speak, Kai and a few of his friends enter the room. Fortunately for you, the Coach (You honestly can' recall his actual name, everyone calls him Coach) Calls everyone over Okay, ladies, the name of the game is baseball, here's how it's going to work Lets pretend he goes on to explain the rules of Baseball (which I don't really know). How do you two feel about sports?
Matthew
Julia approaches you, books in hand Hey matt, would you like to be partners, maybe do a project on the storming of Bastile? She asks, why don't you want to work with Julia, what do you do?
Sam Caine
Hmph, baseball. Well, it's something, though not much adrenaline there. We should do rock climbing, better rush. Sam listens to the rules when an idea comes to him. "Hey Coach, can I pitch first?"
True story, my high school had a rock climbing wall for some reason. Even used it fairly often. Now, hitting someone with a baseball 'on accident' would certainly be Lashing Out, right?
If prior experience with PBtA games is a guide, player's have quite a bit of say in their moves and triggers. I'll take that string and you can get one to match. I don't think I'll betray you anytime soon, but...
Aldrea Fangor
this is what i get for not being in same timezone. Well. Lets see how much i can catch up with
before teach shows up
A boy... meh. Who cares. Not important right now. He seems to be messing with Eliza's stuff. Hmph.
As he looks at Aldrea, she simply makes brief eye contact before looking back at the paper with the assignment specifics. She doesnt even make a sound to confirm his existance.right now. She wants this to be over
"Yah. Sure. You can come over. My father is out. Mom's home. But easy to call and ask if we can use his cach of books he has collected. Think he's at some kind of museum out of town or country... not sure. As i said, father is the history buff. Not me."
at teach
"No ma'am, wouldn't dream of it. Besides. Eliza here seems very eager to do this project. I will do my utter best to make sure we do well without having other people do our work for us. Promise!" she gives the teacher her best smile.
so not sure, but she wants to get to the teachers too. So mind if i roll turn on?
Turn On: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (5, 6) + 2 = 13

If that's Shut Someone Down, then that's a 7. I think we'll lose a string on each other - that gives me 1 on her, and her none on me. I think that's fair. Unless she didn't end up taking that string on me, in which case I'm going to have to start with the conditions.
So, what happens around me next? Are we waiting for the scene I left to end first?
Aldrea Fangor
was aldreas reaction satisfactory?
-Posted with Wayfinder
Locke Farrell
Utterly ignoring me and her comments about me altogether? Yeah, that is lovely. Something tells me I didn't make enough of an impression to hang around in your mind.
Not that I'd blame you. Locke's literally beaten the crap out of people and ruined all their stuff - on the low end of things - and still not been remembered. They just blamed it on some burglar that's been in the news. The only reason he has any expectations for Eliza at all is because of what she is.
It's a shame, really. You commit atrocities that will traumatise someone for life, and they can't be bothered to remember the person that did it when they were right in front of them. Hopefully vampires have better manners than that.
Aldrea Fangor
oh, but wait till she does show interest ;)
Locke Farrell
Yeah, that's surely going to be fun. Something tells me Eliza's not the one I'd have to worry about triggering my sex move.
Edit: Actually, I'm curious as to what condition you would even go for. I'm changing my mind - shoot, Eliza. What condition would you give to someone to whom anything social will never stick? I want to see what you'd pick to actually make the condition matter for me before I make my own selection.
Eliza Cunningham
Desperate. She can see him and remember him. He'll do anything to stay in her attention (which is unfortunate, because not paying attention to people is kind of her thing
Aldrea Fangor
Yeah, that's surely going to be fun. Something tells me Eliza's not the one I'd have to worry about triggering my sex move.
This could be a lot of fun. Wonder how he will react when it it happens. And so see, i did say WHEN =^^=
Locke Farrell
not paying attention to people is kind of her thing
I think you might regret saying that. You might just give me ideas.
Your condition is...In Her Own World. You're complaining about people that were never even there. You never pay attention to anyone anyway unless something makes you. You're no mysterious girl, you're just an airhead putting on an act. Who knows what's actually going in that head of yours? You're definitely not the type of person everyone thought you were. See what I'm going for? *grin*
This could be a lot of fun. Wonder how he will react when it it happens. And so see, i did say WHEN =^^=
YOU HAVE TO CATCH ME FIRST! AHHHHH-
Carriekazi
As she went in to change, she saw William going into the other locker room. She guessed that Bookish Boy was pretty firm under those baggy clothes. She was looking forward to seeing a little more of him.
The locker room was ... weird. Because of Alexis, they had put up dividers and curtains at the lockers and in the showers. It meant the end of everybody judging each other's flaws, but it allowed for stage-whisper "private conversations" about people in the room.
She had stripped off and was stashing her clothes in her locker when she heard it. "Did you see, He's in this class. Watch out for the pervert."
That just pissed her off. She saw how messed up Allan was and how much better she's doing this year. "Aww, Kate's just jealous cause she heard that Eric was checking out Alexis' ass in the hall when she bent over. Pelvic thrusts and everything. I don't think he even knew who it was."
She hadn't seen that, but Alexis did have one of the best butts in the school. She must have been taking hormones all summer long, because there were some definite changes.
shut down: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (5, 6) + 2 = 13
Condition, Losing her Man. And yes, I am picking on the pregnant girl.

Carriekazi
I love it when players set the scene for me. Also co-ed gym, but seperate showers and stuff. and apparently Kate is catty, love it
Nice, Carrie Leah says, Isn't kate going through enough without some wannabee punk spreading slander about her? You hear murmurs of ascent from the others present (with a few exceptions)
What do you do?
Matthew
Great, let's get to it. I can't really understand the textbook, though. did the french guys not like the cake? She starts. Julia is a nice girl, but her mind is... unusual. While she talks, you notice Eliza's book, just laying there. Aldrea's purse too. What do you do?
Aldrea & Eliza
Mr. Pryce seems content with your answers, and drops the matter for now. Anything either of you want to do?
Will & Sam
Tell me, does anything interesting happen at the baseball game, or shall we jump ahead to the locker room?
Eliza Cunningham
Having settled our plans for the evening, Eliza thumbs through the book again.
Her eyes narrow when she reads the note he left her. She looks around the room to see if Locke is still around, then as carefully as she can she crumples the note and drops it into her purse. If Matthew is watching her book, he probably saw the whole thing...but he knows she's a vampire so it's not that big of a deal.
She raises her hand gently and asks to use the ladies room.
Aldrea Fangor
i take it her attempt at getting to the teacher didnt work?

William Gardner
The only heavy breathing William had ever had in his life was during gym, as most teen adolescents. Still, there was always a chance to impress the fairer sex with displays of physical prowess and mastery of competition. Sadly, William was not such a specimen.
"Strike 3!" someone yelled as William missed the ball for the third time in a row.
Dammit.
Matthew Emmanuel
Answering Juliet's question, .art continues to work on the group project. Everyonce in awhile looking over to Eliza.
He wanted to talk to her, to set the ground of what had happened. When she raised a hand to be excused, he decided that he would also ask as well to talk to her in private.
Carriekazi
Before gym.
"Well, Leah, if Kate's too fragile to take s@%$, then I suggest she not throw s!%% in the first place."
shut down: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (3, 4) + 2 = 9 Hey, I'm not in on the secret yet. Let's give Leah Jonesing for a fix
-----
On the field.
She winks at William, whispering conspiratorially to him. "Sam must spend a lot of time playing with his balls to get that good." And then she steps up to bat.
Lash out at that ball: 2d6 + 1 ⇒ (6, 4) + 1 = 11
Damn, I guess I'm the one stealing Sam's luck. Sorry (not!)
Sam Caine
Sam has been pitching for a bit, when Kai steps up to the plate. Perfect. With a quick wind up and a careful eye, Sam hurls the ball right towards Kai's face instead of the strike zone. Who's dead meat now? Having caused his second black eye of the day, Sam runs up to Kai. "Holy crap, are you ok man? The ball totally slipped..." Sam glances over to Will with a slightly raised eyebrow.
Lash out with a baseball: 2d6 + 1 ⇒ (5, 3) + 1 = 9
I'll give Kai a string on me.
Will, back me up and you can have an XP. Spending one of my strings on Will.
DM Default
Am I doing this right?
Will blinks.
Wait...he wants me to back him up? Well, he has been there for me...
"Kai, I'll help you to the nurse." he says, giving him a shoulder to lean on.
If Kai brings up anything that seems to indicate he believes Kai did it on purpose, William will add:
"Kai, seriously, I think you might have a concussion. Sam looked as surprised as you did at where the ball landed. I'm not even sure he can be that accurate."
Aldrea Fangor
it happens :P

No, I'm just inattentive, apologies
Take a string on Mr. Pryce, he walks back to his desk, but he keeps looking back over his shoulder at you An instrumental version of Don't Stand So Close To Me comes on in the non-diegetic soundtrack. Eliza leaves you for the moment, what do you do?
Eliza & Matthew
the two of you meet in the hall, temporarily alone. what do you do?
Locke
Are you following anyone in particular? looking for anything?
Gym people
Carrie, take the condition Heartless B$*%$ Also, great joke, and yu don't need to roll to play baseball, unless you're trying to do something dangerous (like hit someone with the ball
The ball hits Kai right in the face, he cringes, but stays standing. Be careful Caine! If you could pitch worth a damn, I'd say that was on purpose!
when Will goes to help him, he pushes you off. I'm fine, freak, hands off!
Carrie, you naturally witness all this
What do you do?
Aldrea Fangor
She will keep an eye on the teacher. And since her so called partner is out for a second. She will make a provocative gesture at Pryce if he looks her way again. She is thrilled at the possibility that she may have just got a teacher to look at her in a more... unprofessional way.
A few i can think of if you need me to post :P

Eliza left class to try to find this "Locke" person by other means. Matthew following her outside puts other ideas in her mind. She turns around, note in hand and pushes the post-it into his chest.
She doesn't raise her voice, but it's obvious she's angry. Who is Locke, Matthew? Are you telling people about what happened last week?
Locke Farrell
The run away roll was just about disappearing, mainly. Reactivating the thing that makes me impossible to notice. That's really going to be the point every time, right until someone triggers my Sex Move. Then I may actually have to run from them.
Frankly, I would be very amused to be invisibly pulling faces behind Eliza and going "Naahhh, you just aren't very attentive", but otherwise, I'll be looking for anything interesting going on. If was looking for anything right now, it would be a fancy camera. Or, perhaps a ballot box and a small table. Probably some paper and a pen too so that people can fill it up. It isn't exactly hard for me to get my hands on what I like. Not as if anyone can stop me.
Locke Farrell
Sure I can, it's fun.
Also, I just got yet ANOTHER idea to mess with you. Unfortunately this one isn't a guaranteed thing, but then again, I've got others. Have fun figuring out what my plots are, let alone who they involve.
Matthew Emmanuel
"I ain't told anyone about what happened. You have my word. Who the Hell is Locke? Matthew says leaning on a locker. He crosses his arms, "Listen, you got nothing to fear from me, I just want to make it clear. However, I may need you for certain things. You give an opportunity for a rather unique study."
Eliza Cunningham
Eliza is reasonably satisfied by his response. Ok, but if you didn't tell him...he knows some other way. Locke...he's in class with us. He was standing RIGHT in front of you like, five minutes ago and then he ran out of class.
When he doesn't respond with recognition I shrug.
What sorts of things did you have in mind? I'd be more amenable to your request for help if you'd finally let me get a taste of that witch blood you have coursing through you. It won't hurt.
Eliza places her hand on his chest and smiles just a little bit
I promise
turn on: 2d6 + 1 ⇒ (3, 6) + 1 = 10
One string for me, which I then use to offer Matthew an exp point to do what I want (let me feed off of him). BTW: When I feed, you'll get a second exp point. It's a virtual cornucopia of experience points and all I need is a leetle blood. I get to decide if you die or not, so it's 100% safe
Carriekazi
Carrie looks concerned, more at the outburst than the injury. "C'mon, Kai, it was just an accident. It happens. Don't bite Will for trying to help. You know that they're going to have to check you out to cover their asses, so just go with it."
