That's too bad. I was interested in working with him. I thought he had an interesting character, from what I knew of him.
Shadara Windless
So an old thing that I remember is that a round is like 6 seconds, is that true. I am curious cause of the amount of time I can be invisible.
Shadara Windless
Herk,
Did I miss something, from your post it seems that I am visible but I have not attacked in any way.
Shadara Windless
I may not be able to post in game until Wednesday or thursday. I will be working extended hours days on monday thru Wednesday. I will post if I can.
On the invisibility. I am trying to figure out the timing. I would have guessed that the amount of time that it took Ugmug to find me would be between 30 to 45 seconds from the time I went invisible. If the creatures popped up at the end of that time and each round it about 6 seconds, less than a minute has passed Currently my vanishing trick is at level 2. I am using this number since I did not see it state that the duration is based on caster level. At one minute per level I should be able to remain unseen for at least 1 more minute. I also double checked and see that I misunderstood a part of the invisibility or an update clarified it. I am invisible but objects that I pick up are not unless I conceal them in my clothing. Picking up a sword or other item will just cause others to see it float in the air.
All that being said I want to check how much time I actually have left that I can be invisible if I were not to perform any action that would give away my location?

Here is the text for Vanishing Trick:
As a swift action, the ninja can disappear for 1 round per level. This ability functions as invisibility. Using this ability uses up 1 ki point.
When a class feature uses "level," it's referring to your level in that class unless otherwise stated. Shadara's vanishing trick will last 6 rounds, or 60 seconds. Of course, if she wanted it to last longer, she could spend a swift action and a ki point on any of those rounds to reactivate it.
Graghhh
So, do we need to clarify how long a round is? Is it 6 seonds, or 10 seconds, or does it vary? If 6 rounds is 60 seconds, then a round is 10 seconds, but if a round is 6 seconds, then Shadara would be invisible for 36 seconds according to Quinten's explanation. I'm just wondering how a round is being treated for our game. Care to weigh in here, Herk?
Graghhh
Okay, good. I just wanted to make sure. I'm glad that was only a mathematical mistake on your part Quinten. I just wanted to clarify. Thanks, Herk.
Shadara Windless
Thanks for the clarification, Just trying to get a handle on how this works. Most of the time I would not be using the max of the trick but in this case with no weapons I wanted to make sure I was utilizing it as best I could.
Graghhh
I guess I could possibly look it up, but it's easier to ask and I know I can get the correct info: if Shadara moves will she become visible?

Man those rolls were crappy. I had such high hopes for what I was going to do but after the rolls i had to make a lot of changes.
"Look I'm a fish"
For those who don't know I had a character in a RL game with Herk and Mang where i was an eggplant purple 6'8" Orc who pulled out a fishing net to capture guys fighting in a building I was outside of. I tried to rush in kicking down the door and snare them with the net. I Epic failed on the roll (1) and so if I remember correctly I kicked the door so hard it came back hitting me as I went thru which tripped me and in falling I became entangled in the net and rolled to a stop between the combatants. So then I started wiggling and said "Look I'm a fish".
good times, good times.
Graghhh
Ha! I remember hearing about that "I'm a fish" story. Great post and rolls here, Shadara. I like what you did with what you were dealt. I'm hoping to post later today as I have to leave for work. I thought I would post, then saw what time I have and I better try for later.
Shadara Windless
yeah that was pretty good too. Just goes to show that I have a history of dice hating me.

The random weapon one is the only one that was left up to complete chance. I found a site that had melee weapons in a list and there were 21 of them. The 21st listing was for a war hammer so I dropped it and then let the system roll. I numbered the list from top to bottom and bobs your uncle a weapon was chosen. The broken condition roll was a hard one but it made sense to give only a 30% chance to the weapon being not in the broken condition with what I had seen so far from these creatures. I am glad you liked the post. It was fun to have a frame work with chance built into something other than just the regular attack options.
Graghhh
Cool.
In a parallel universe or something: Everything above the group opens up for about 2 minutes while there is an eclipse. Then the ceiling closes again. Graghhh in the other universe comments how unusual that was...;)
Is there any specific placing of exits or do we simply need to look around and see them, Herk?
I hope to be able to post, but will likely be unable to post until Thursday or Friday as I will be out of town for work and will not have internet access. I might be able to post tonight, but I'm not sure.
Shadara Windless
FYI, Next week I will be out again working at 3 locations for work. I may not be able to post from Monday thru Thursday. Thought I would note that now while I am thinking about it.
Shadara Windless
sorry from me too. Got hit in the head on thursday and have concussion. Getting better but this is first chance I have had to hop in and even send this update. I hope to post later tonight or tomorrow.
Shadara Windless
As Herk know from RL, I have a really hard head. The video looked pretty funny. So far I have had one day in the hospital from vertigo and nausea. Was not able to stand at all without help. Then I have seemed fine after that. Normal headache level that is pretty consistent. But doing well enough that the company allowed me to go on a work trip rewiring locations. I have a coworker with me and he takes alot of the heavy lifting so I don't injury myself further.

so//// I will be on vacation until the 10th late. I will not be posting during this period. enjoy the break
That works for me. I am headed out to the coast for the next 5 days. Need a break from work.
Zoey Goodheart
Hi guys! My name is Ogaman, I play Zoey Goodheart. I'm a friend of Urie's, and when he told me about this play-by-post game, I was super enthused about it. I asked him if there were any spots open and he said he would keep me posted. I've been talking with Herk, and he told me to go ahead and post my characters entrance!
So a little bit about me? I'm relatively young, 19 years old. I've been roleplaying for about 4 years, and playing Pathfinder/D&D for the past 3. I like plenty of generally nerdy things, and I hope to have a lot of fun writing with you guys!

Zoey, welcome to the game.
All, I'm sorry for being so quiet these past few days. We are doing some home repairs that make it unpleasant for me to be around my computer, so I haven't been checking the site as much as I usually do. I'll try to catch up and post tomorrow.
Graghhh
Graghhh is being super cautious about approaching Zoey, so maybe there is a good reason for that. Perhaps it is just him being wary of a newcomer, since we are in a maze of puzzles and all. But maybe that gives you more to work with. Use the ideas or not. Maybe there is an extra reason upon seeing her that the rest of the party would be a little stand-offish. I look forward to seeing what you do with your character.
Graghhh
Also, thanks, Quinten, for rolling perception to notice Graghhh. To see him while he uses stealth, does another character have to beat the stealth roll, or beat it by a certain number? In this case, I rolled a 23. Would someone have to roll higher than that with perception, or 23+x to notice his movements? I don't recall.

I figured we'd simplify matters. More seriously, if you haven't seen the Gamers, it's a great parody of the silly stuff people do while roleplaying.
You only need to beat the opponent's roll to win an opposed skill check. In this case, Quinten would have needed a 24 to notice Graghhh.
Graghhh
Cool. Thanks. That's what I was hoping was the case. I haven't seen the Gamers. Is it a movie, Youtube, or what? I'd like to see it. I'm glad for the answer being so simple.
