The doors on the map are depicted as swinging into the rooms. I marked two doorways "A" and "B". What if we put the captives in B, then tie a rope across the room so the two doors can't open, because one is pulling against the other? Any thoughts?

Actually, the spell's description mentions the SIZE of the spell's effect, not its RANGE, so I messed up--it shouldn't have been anywhere near as mobile as I allowed. Going forward, I'll hopefully remember this distinction. Since I ruled the fog could move with the group, that's what we'll be going with...this time.

Well, you do want to claim their turf. Since they seem to be a cult of an evil deity and have said they're planning to perform a 'ceremony,' the evil-smiters amongst the party might feel that warrants a butt whooping. They're almost certainly squatters at best, but that's more-or-less tolerated elsewhere in the city (such as in the old dormitories and such in Villegre, some of which have stood abandoned since the Temple Hill Slasher's reign ended). Since your group got permission from the Order of the Torrent's lictor to explore the ruins, your party has a better claim to being in the ruins than the cult. Then again, Thrune law currently rules the day and the Hellknight Order of the Torrent has been disbanded, so...maybe not so much.

Happy Thanksgiving. Hubby and I spent the day together and made a small but yummy meal for just the two of us.
Sorry (again) for the delay. Hoping to post tomorrow to get things moving again.

I didn't post yesterday because a so-called Windows upgrade caused my laptop to not boot up for over an hour yesterday, putting me in a foul mood. It only took 2 tries to boot up this morning. Just in case my laptop's giving me hints that it's getting ready to crap out on me, I figure I ought to let you all know, just in case I suddenly go silent.
I DO have a back-up laptop, but I upgraded from that a few years back because it was taking like 10 minutes to boot up each day....
Keeping my fingers crossed this is just a blip and nothing serious.

In hindsight, I should've known my laptop would croak--it's still 2020, after all. The good news is it seems my old one is still functional and even has a copy of Turn of the Torrent on it. Hopefully this relic will suffice until I get a new laptop.
