Is there a ladder or other obvious way up to the catwalks? Failing that, how high up off the ground are they?
There's no obvious way up to the catwalks, which are 20 feet above the floor. Perhaps there are stairs behind one of the doors?

Given how quickly cantrips become useless, Open/Close is one with a surprising amount of utility. Plus, this way someone holding a sword doesn't have to waste an action opening the door.

Both Emi and Firinne rolled the exact total needed to confirm crits against their foes! Even Nebbin would've hit had he not used Auspicious Mark. Consider me impressed.
I'd have ended rage, so I think I'm fatigued for a minute? I don't remember 1e rules anymore. :D
Close--here's the exact rule: A barbarian can end his rage as a free action and is fatigued after rage for a number of rounds equal to 2 times the number of rounds spent in the rage.
Remember that cleric/girlfriend you used to hang out with who could eliminate fatigue with a touch? Too bad you kicked her to the curb, huh? ;P
That reminds me...I was supposed to point out that the party might need some healing before chasing after the elevator. Back to the Gameplay Thread!

That said, I'd really like to drop a Fireball in that room. I know it's not likely to be possible, but man... so many targets!

After a Blah day yesterday after getting my latest covid booster, I'm feeling better and am ready to jump back into the action. Since Emi jumped the gun a bit and Miakoda's getting crunched, I'm going to switch their positions in the Init Order for a round or two as an experiment.
I made it through the catwalks upstairs without thinking once of that stupid and annoying 80s song.
This morning, I picture (Right Said) Rolth up on the catwalking singing, "I'm Too Sexy" while his spectral hand does the Stayin' Alive sky-point.
"I'm a necromancer, know what I mean? And I cast my little spells on the catwalk...."
Yeesh. I'm weird sometimes....
EDIT: That actually came out in 1992. Feels very 80s-ish, though.

I figure it might be easier to discuss our plan here.
I think we need to send a messenger to Kayleigh -- and maybe Croft -- about what we've found. This sounds like it could be the answer to the Blood Veil plague and may finally end it? I don't think we can all just leave this place. I think we take care of the patients while we wait, but that's our best option here. I think we should look around to make sure there's nothing else waiting here -- and barricade it in case Lamm plans to come back with forces before Kayleigh can get here -- but I don't see any other good/easy options.
I agree, but with slightly different details. I don't think we should go any further, and possibly kick over another anthill, until we're reset and ready to handle it. We should loot everything in case there's something important. Looking at the map, I think we should pull back to the previous set of rooms and leave the one we're in. It seems like for there we can block the elevator out and defend ourselves by holding a single doorway as a choke point. We can also interrogate the doctor while we're set up there and maybe find out more about what's still to come from him.
I'm fine with that plan.

So immensely frustrating--my test session was cancelled by the regular due to some shenanigans involving licensing re-registration since my employer has been acquired by another firm. Nothing I did wrong, but it means I need to reschedule the test.
