What the party is missing at this point is a cleric.

We'll go 175 for the fighter classes looking at the CC guidelines.

@brvheart are traits permited? Also I am looking at two human bard ideas; which would you prefer for this campaign? I am working on the crunch for both, once I hear which will fit the campaign better I will focus on him/her.

Everyone gets two traits from the APG.

What did you decide on the Magus?

Brv, have you decided for sure that we are going to be first level? And, assuming so, the starting gold for everyone is 150, correct?

As I said 175 for fighter classes; Fighter, Ranger and Paladin.

Ah, I didn't know you were Oathar the Vigilant, brv!

Oops, sorry that is my Carrion Crown character:)

@brvheart: Oops! I missed the bit about the starting budget and decked him out with just over 200 GP of gear. The big ticket item being a MW backpack.

I should revise that? And if so, to how much in GP should the starting budget be?

Thanks.

ok changed the character

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I have been away from PBP gaming for quite a while due to job commitments, but if you might be willing to take a gamble, I would be interested in trying out for the cleric spot.

"Lucky" Cyrus, part priest/part conman, but 100% trying to convince Lady Luck not to withdraw her favor from him. I can start working on a crunchy build also.

ok try this again he didnt like inqusitor

The char is still a work in progress, but I wanted to give you an idea of where I was going with the concept. Cyrus is a burnt out husk of a man and years of living in the gutters have taken what skills he once had away. Now, he clings to the barest of blessings from Calistria and serves as a healer to the Ladies of the Evening to pay for his room and board.

“Lucky” Cyrus’ clothing has seen better days, as has the man who wears them. The fading vest and tunic’s edges are beginning to fray, and patchwork stitches are worked along the shoulders and sides. The rough cut of his beard shows his lack of skill as a barber and a simple strip of leather keeps his brown hair pulled back in the style of the sailors he lives among in the docks.

Background:

Spoiler:
‘What do you mean you want to hear my tale? More importantly, why should you care? There ain’t nothing I can tell you that you haven’t heard from the daisies in the serving room upstairs, so either ante up or get away from my table.’

‘Do I look like a priest to you boy? Would a real priest spend his day in this place with cards in his hands and lusts in his heart? Damn right, they wouldn’t. They would be out in the streets telling the world how things will be better, how the gods bless more than they take, and how one day if you say your prayers and smile real big flowers and rainbows will adorn your grave for all eternity.’

‘Rose said I did what? She was drunk and in pain from the miscarriage. The warmth she felt was just a trick of her mind. Nothing magical about my patching her up. Of course she mended quick, Rose is half dwarf, what did you expect?’

‘I hear the chink of the purse boy and rest assured if I did so did the rest of this place. You might want to be less quick about reaching for it and quicker to think things through. In fact I think you and I should walk outside and finish this conversation there. Relax boy, you came to me remember? Besides, you can trust me. After all, you were the one that said I was a priest…’

Yes, no MW items at level one please. 150 GP for everyone else but the Fighters, Paladins and Rangers at 175.

It is a tad too min/maxed for my liking and the Lost Lands. Try a little more balanced like getting rid of the 7 dump stat and you are in. I give 25 points so people don't have to min/max. Otherwise I am willing to give the class a try.

OK, the following can move to the discussion section as they are in, but may need some refinement:

Hagrym dwarf paladin
Turvijagal half-elf rogue (swashbuckler)
Galero half-elf sorcerer
Ulfgard Strongarm dwarf ranger
Naomi Chadwick Arcane Duelist human
"Lucky" Cyrus, Priest
Shandar Milsap Evoker human
Javis Ward Magus human

Right! My bad.

I'll tweak his gear later tonight.

As far as choosing a FGG god goes, I think the best fit for this character will be Zors. Kind of sounds like the old Roman goddess Fortuna. So he sounds like a rogue's patron god sort of thing.

@brvheart: okay, I've tweaked the profile so he has under 150 GP worth of [i]stuff[/i, and no masterwork items.

I think Zors is a good fit for Cyrus at the start of things as well. In time, Tykee may pull him into her fold, just not yet.

Heading to discussion thread now.

Finding Haleen is a campaign specific trait...I'd doubt that's okay for a non campaign specific game. Those are much more powerful than regular traits, IMHO.

Looks much better for Jarvis. Come join us in the discussion thread. Closing recruitment for now.

Finding haleen is the strongest trait there is. Period. A trait that is as good a feat AND a racial trait (Humans get an extra skillpoint) is just ridicules OP. I mean you get an extra Skillpoint AND an extra HP EACH LEVEL!
And how do you want to find Haleen if she is in legacy of fire!

Hi guys, what does the party need? And you are all 3rd level about?

Sorry goblin, I posted the wrong link,
To RA

Due to losing a player due to RL we are once again recruiting to fill one spot.

Do you have a preference as to what role the new character should fill?

Not really as we are losing a bard.

Brvheart,

I'd like to submit a character for this campaign. Ive actually been following your other group of half orcs.

I am pretty familiar with the Lost Lands campaign and have been dying to get into another campaign since Grimmy's was put on hold awhile ago.

Is there a deadline for this?

I would like to get this done by the end of this weekend if possible.

I'd like to offer up Jawn Stagg, a human monk (wanderer archetype from the ARG). Think of him like a priest of the old Greyhawk god Fharlanghn; he looks like a worn traveler wandering into town, but he's actually a guardian of the downtrodden. In Jawn's case, he'd be a discreet but passionate follower of Thyr the Lawgiver who likes to come into a new place or situation unknown so he can hopefully catch evil-doers in the act.

If he gets word of a group successfully engaging Rappan Athuk, he'd try to join in. Not only is ridding the world of the terrible place a worthy goal, but he'd like to answer the century old question of what happened to any followers of Thyr that have gone before.

Am I correct in understanding that we'd be building them based on level 4, 25 point buy. Use Core, APG and limited other options. We'd take two traits from Ultimate Campaign. Would it be 150 gp, 175 for the key warrior roles?

I can make the mechanical adjustments tonight, as this character was recently adjusted for a very specific game....but I'd like to apply here with Nymani, a fairly good hearted priestess who works to find a balance between nature and civilization, and to keep fellow travelers safe.

If you don't mind, what are the issues with the summoner class? I don't ask to try and change your mind, but I intend for this character to use summoning spells regularly, especially at higher level.

I would say NPC gold for level four as they are rather poor.

Here is Jawn Stagg, my (markofbane's) offering for the recruitment. He is a lawful good human monk (wanderer archetype from the Advanced Race Guide). His background and stats are in this profile. Thanks for your consideration!

Looks good, go ahead and dot gameplay and post in discussion and introduce yourself.

hello, i am posting as a alternate for shandar, no clue about where we are but i will attempt to read catch up and post in his stead. Thank you.

We need one or two arcane casters for ongoing Lost Lands game level 4 see campaign info for specs please:)

I'll take a look and see what I can come up with.

May I present Tobold Cotton Elemental Sorcerer.

I don't know much about the Lost Lands so I'll need some help with the background.

Let me know what you think.

Looks good, make a post under him and then join the discussion please:) We are starting a new area, but have finished one minor battle.

Thank you for the invite.

Looks like we need a new 5th level cleric for our Lost Lands game. This one is an old school Pathfinder game.

I am very interested but I have to make sure I don't have prior knowledge. I have read and run a lot of Necro/FGG stuff. Especially Stoneheart Valley and part of RA and ST.

If this uses Splinters of Faith or Sword of Air, or Borderland Provences, I have not read those.

Question, what would you say is the sacred weapon of Freya?

I am working on a halfling cleric of Freya. He needs some material that is not from CRB in order to work so I will have to get those approved by you. But I think the flavor should fit an old school game just fine. Gerald can vouch for me I am really into the oldschool aesthetic.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I think something like, dagger, quarterstaff, but the net or the whip or a shield would also make sense.
Thinking about it I REALLY would ask for a net!
