Hearing the sound Gashka sets the lantern down by one of the cells and gets back behind the door. She puts a finger up to her mouth to motion for the others to be quiet.

Ash will ready an action to charge into the door as soon as it opens - I don't know if it opens inward or outward (can you tell me?) but it should slam into whoever is opening it...and surprise them somewhat/knock them over/squeeze them between door edge and wall...

Ash moves into a ready stance a few paces in front of the door


Asho:
It swings into the room.

Gashka sees the others getting ready to charge as soon as the door opens, she has a thought and whispers to the one closest to her, "Be careful, in case it has Narima."

Ok I go out and things move fast...last i was looking Terra was still in her cell? but I guess we are all free now.

before the guard was coming....

I wanna go, I wanna learn to fight.Terra is excited, but Jin and Anyka know Terra has no real fighting skill at all, having tried to teach her just days before all of this.

Terra's spirit will hopefully make up for her lack of ability and strength.

now that all that was said and all for naught anyway...

sounds like I get to fight after allTerra whispers with a smile. as she ducks to a hiding spot where she can get a flank on whoever comes through the door.

Jin takes position near the door ready to take any weapon the rat is carrying before he can draw it.

Tikkle stands in the middle of the room, making no effort for concealment.
He whispers to the others "Let him get a few steps in, so we can get behind him and keep him from running... Hopefully he takes the bait and comes for me..." Tikkle begins to chant softly, with a wicked Grin on his face "Panyaaa... come play panyaaa..."

Tikkle readies an attack if he's charged and an intimidate check for when the rat can't run away to make him give up and tell us where to go

Pharnox will position himself near the door and prepare his rock for throwing...


You hear the door unlock and after a few seconds, it opens. The rat is seen pushing the door open with its foot as it begins walking backwards towards you, dragging Narima.

Opposed Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10

Jin's Sleight of Hand: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 28

Jin manages to take the dagger from the rat without it noticing.

Opposed Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14

The creature is so focused on what it's doing, that it fails to notice Vallterra or Jin completely.

Pharnox and Flynt throw their rocks at the back of the beast's head.

Pharnox Ranged Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22

Damage: 1d4 - 1 ⇒ (2) - 1 = 1

Flynt's Ranged Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16

Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 1

Both rocks glance off the side of its head, causing it to drop Narima and turn around. At that moment, Asho rushes the thing and slams into it, causing the rat to trip over the unconsious Nagaji and fall onto its back in the doorway.

Tikkle, I'll let you handle the Intimidate, since I have no idea what you would say.

Jin chomps down on the stolen dagger freeing his hands so he can scoop up Narima and move her to safety.

Taking Narima from Jin, Gashka gets her out of harms way before gently laying her down. As she turns around, there is a look of fury on her face as she glares at the rat.

This seems oddly familiar doesn't it Terra? You could always help Gaska check on Narima or go to the door and make sure no one else is coming.

It was a bit chaotic with everyone running in different directions and doing everything at once. I'm sorry you're feeling frustrated, don't mean to make you feel that way.

I guess i could do that, but i do feel rushed to get a post out there, no time to weigh the situation and make a clear choice as to what to do

Terra moves to the doorway hoping to get the rat guy into the room. she checks the hallway(?) out there and if it is clear she comes back in closing the door.

GMSCV - a suggestion for combat. You roll each of our initiatives for us, as well as the bad guys and put it in a post as a list.

Then, we can post our actions for the round whenever we like/in any order, but they only happen in initiative order.

That way, folks who post less frequently know their action will happen, and when; and those that can post whenever they like/often can do so freely, knowing that they wont impinge on other's actions.

Cool. It works well in other PbP's.

The other thing you can do is any time you pop in during the round write a list of actions posted, and let those that haven't posted know that they are up.

Then at the end of the round, do a wrap up of what happened, who is still alive, what conditions are in play etc...

With the rat under control Anyka rushes over to Narima checking to see if she is hurt.


Flynt ran up to the prone rat and screamed, "What did you do to my brother?!" And viciously kicked it in the gut.

Unarmed Strike: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13

Non-Lethal: 1d3 ⇒ 2


Anyka notices that Narima is still alive, but she seems diminished somehow.

Despite the beating its received, the rat tries to get a hold on Asho.

Grapple: 1d20 - 6 ⇒ (2) - 6 = -4

Asho manages to evade the grab, but the thing tried to roll away.

Acrobatics: 1d20 + 9 - 2 ⇒ (5) + 9 - 2 = 12

Attack of Opportunity for Pharnox, Tikkler, and Asho.

Round 2 - Players, Go!

Terra: 1d100 ⇒ 42

Ready to throw the dagger if the creature runs.

Ash fends off the rabid creature's clutching paws. As the ratling rolls away he quicly lifts his rock up in a two-handed grip, attempting to bring it down on the creature's head. His strike is poorly timed, and he almost topples as misses.

AoO: 1d20 + 2 + 1 - 1 ⇒ (6) + 2 + 1 - 1 = 8 [BAB, Strength, Power Attack]

Not sure of damage for rock - Asho gets +1 for Strength and +3 for two-handed Power Attack if he hits...which he didn't. How much damage does a rock do?

You missed anyway Asho. If you have one of the rocks that can be thrown, 1d4 Ranged, 1d6 Melee. I think Terra still has that larger rock.

Narima appears to be drained of...her essence.

At the sight of the cat, some sort of primal fear grips the rat. In a high squeaky voice, he begins speaking, "Rizzle give! Rizzle give! Rizzle tell you what you want to know."

Combat's over now.
