As the others return to camp briefly, Samuel continues to search the bodies and the wagon, all the while watching for signs of what may have caused this carnage.
Sorry about the relatively slow posting; I should be back on a relatively regular schedule at some point this week, at least until Thursday, at which point most people's schedule goes wacky.
Pashaj
With the attacker close, Pashaj drops his spear and silently spins, raising his palms and dropping into a combat stance.
Initiative - 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12
On his turn, Pashaj is going to use a standard action to begin his sermonic performance (+1 competence bonus to attack and damage rolls to Calain and Garavel). I'd like for him to move also, but I'm unsure of how to do so in 10-foot squares. Is it possible to take a 5-foot step?

Turn order
Lizard 24
Garavel 19
Calain 18
Pashaj 12
Round 1 actions:
The lizard focused on Pashaj attempts to claw him with his long clawed hands the first meets nothing but air and the second is but a glancing blow dealing 1 damage the enraged lizard than attempts to bite at Pashaj's neck but he swiftly dodges. Garvel rushes over to the scene (G 16 on map) Calain bears his blade and Charge the creature it is too focused on Pashaj to notice the barbarian rushing at him and is hit for 8 damage the Lizard lets out a loud blood curdling scream that can be heard from all around the grove. Pahaj takes the opportunity to step back and begin his sermonic performance.
claws: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 201d3 ⇒ 1 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 81d3 ⇒ 1
bite: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 101d4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Yes you can still take a five foot step back but on map you would still be on same square
Map
Round 2 actions please.

these ten foot squares are a little confusing. If possible Calain would move to g20 to flank with pasj. AOO be damned :)
Calain roars at the sight of his well struck blow and attempts to end the fight.
Attack1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20 add another 2 if flank possible

Lizards action:five foot step to Pashaj attempts to make another claw rake on Pashaj making two more glancing blows on the Cleric.1d20 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 1 = 181d3 ⇒ 1 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 1 = 141d3 ⇒ 1
"Die foul beast" Garavel yells before slashing down with his falchion smashing his blade down into the creatures templ. 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 182d4 + 3 ⇒ (4, 1) + 3 = 8
The lizard seeing an opening in Calian armour springs into action and bites his shoulder 5 damage You can feel the lizards sharp teeth drain the blood from your body 1 con damage . After the lizard has it's share of Calains blood the strange black quills on its back shoot straight up and its eyes glow red as it shrieks in victory of it's first successful attack. Calian stares down at the petty beast enraged and bears his blade again smashing it into the lizards skull 9 damage.
Lizards AOO:roller giving me trouble so rolled maunul this time hit 17+7=24 damg 1d4+1=5

Pashaj will continue his sermonic performance as a free action. He will then attempt to grapple the lizard.
Grapple (no AoO) - 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16
If the attack succeeds against the creature's CMB, the creature and Pashaj are both affected by the grappled[/url condition.
Calain
Thanks for taking the cleric archetype that grants sermonic performance- love me some bard buffs
Seeing Pashaj grappling the creature and feeling charged by the clerics performance, steps to flank and Calain drives home with his Naodachi
Attack+Sermonic+Flank 1d20 + 4 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 4 + 1 + 2 = 17
Lizard is grappled so -4dex

Are those who stayed in the wagon area able to hear the lizards' cries and sounds of battle? Do we need Perception checks?
Also are we attacked by murlocs?

Pashaj maintains the sermonic performance. He takes a 5 foot step backwards and spontaneously casts command, expending his prepared spell, obscuring mist. With the spell, he orders the creature to flee (DC 13 Will negates). If the creature fails its save and has to flee, this movement will provoke Attacks of Opportunity.

The lizard clearly quite wounded turns to the one packing all the hits on him and attempts to bite at his neck once more the lizards eyes strangely glow since it sucked Calains blood. The lizard rests its fangs in his neck and drains more blood from his body 3 damage and 1 more con damage after its successful first strike it jumps in again to quench its thirst for blood It shrikes as Calain pushes the beast away. The loss of blood in your body makes you feel very weak. Garavel turns his attention to the west where the other Lizards cry were from "More trouble don't know how many of these "Things" we can hold off" He takes a step back and searches around hoping nothing is creeping up on him. "We've got more of em on the way" He shouts back after scanning the west. Calain enraged Stabs right though the Lizards heart ending its life."Don't celebrate yet there's two more on the way" Yells Garavel seeing Calain slay the first beast

How do you feel about posting order? Should we post out of order and have you resolve it at the end of every round, or wait for our turn? I'm happy either way, though I generally prefer to go in order (despite the fact that I've posted out of order in this thread).
Calain
After the wounds he has received Calain has had enough. His eyes glaze over as he finds his battle lust, that special place a man can find, that let's him overcome his normal limits. RAGE: HP 15/17
He moves up to stand beside In front of Garavel (E16) and swings mightily , hoping to cleave the creature in two.
Attack1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27
Damage1d10 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17
Confirm crit1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20
yay! Crit! Damage Doubled
Exalting in the spray of blood, Calain let's out a primal ROAR!
Pashaj
I'm pretty certain that with critical hits in Pathfinder, you roll damage multiple times instead of rolling once and multiplying. All the additional damage will multiply, but I think you might need to roll the d10 again. I never really understood the reason for this, but I thought I'd mention it. Either way, it's a very nice crit!
He has unleashed a fury within himself. He needs to be centered.
Pashaj moves into F15 and puts a hand on Calain's back, using his domain power, touch of law. Calain can treat all attack rolls, skill checks, ability checks, and saving throws for 1 round as if the natural d20 roll resulted in an 11.
Urdaan Einalf
Going to double move to c18, no other actions this turn.
Assuming the lizard is dead: "Good to see you're enjoying yourself Calain. All clear otherwise?"
If lizard is still alive: Urdaan thumps his shield with his ax, and takes a defensive stance. "So Calain, it looks like we'll be earning our coin tonight."
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22

Calian cleaves the lizard in two "Great job Calain though at least one more of those beastys still roam the Grove and we should stay tight" Garavel says to Calain and Pashaj. When he sees the others rush towards them he turns to face them "Just a moment out of the nick of time you missed all the fun, Lizards strange sorts never seen em before nevertheless I'm glad you all came There could be more so...Stay safe."Garavel says to the whole lot. Garvel looks strangely ill after the fight he waits for the rest to catch up before making for the camp.
Calain Fort save please, The last lizard seems to have fled or left would prefer if in combat you posted in order of initative but does not matter to much if you don't
All add 300xp good job Calain :)
Calain
.1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18 (normally +7 in a rage but already taken con damage)
Using his inner fury to try to stave off a sickness in his guts, Calain then let's out a slow breath and lets go off his anger.
2Rounds of rage used. Calain is fatigued for 2RDS
Vicious little things weren't they? Wonder if they taste good spit roasted?
Pashaj
Sorry if I sounded patronizing about the critical hit rule! I've been running it as a simple multiplier for a while now, until a player recently pointed out the rule to me, so I thought I would share. Turned out for the best this time around! Awesome 37 point swing!
Pashaj chants in a low tone, and channels energy once again.
All living creatures in 30 feet heal 1d6 ⇒ 3 points.
Calain
No worries. Also, didn't mention before but Sermonic performance replaces the 1st,9th and 15th channel abilities, so I don't think you can channel yet..., I could be wrong (not trying to be snarky, just didn't wanna bring it up while combat was on. Sorry Pashaj.
Let more come. They'll think twice if we skin and hang these two!!
Calain still has 1 Con damage and is either at 12/14 HP or 14HP if we allow that last channel
Urdaan Einalf
Samuel examines the body of one of the lizards as he scans the rest of the grove for signs of the remaining lizard.
Urdaan crouches down next to him, using the edge of his ax to ease the animal's jaws open. "I think I've seen one of these on display in a tavern, once. Looked smaller there. They normally hunt in packs?"
K. Nature: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6

Raulzig Turfoodle
By the time Raulzig reaches the site of battle, it is already over. He noticed the lizard's remains, lying in a puddle of foul-smelling black blood, and felt sickened. But his natural curiosity has overcome the revulsion, and he examined what was left of the creature.
Knowledge(nature): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22
Perception:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
Once he could draw his eyes away from the grim sight, he looked at the trio of victors with a newfound respect.
"Wow, you have surely dealt with those things fast! Looks like gnolls don't stand much chance, eh?

You're totally right. I completely spaced that. Sorry! I started a cleric in the Second Darkness game that you and I are in, less than a week before this game started, so I've gotten mixed up a few times as to which can do what. I usually play clerics, and this is the first one that doesn't start with channel energy. Thanks for the heads up. I feel dumb.
Well, if Pashaj doesn't have it, he would have cast cure light wounds on Calain instead (the first time he channeled). Unfortunately, he only has one prepared (and can't spontaneously cast them). Those bard buffs don't come cheap, but I didn't really create this guy to be a primary healer.
Cure Light Wounds (on Calain) - 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9 points of damage.

"Actually, me and H'vok also weren't wasting our time. We've found this scroll case inside the caravan. It was the source of the Conjuration aura I felt. But the magic in it is much stronger than I've initially thought. It is also protected by a Nexian rune, the exact meaning of which I cannot decipher in the field, but I suspect it wards the case against opening, unless it's somehow activated first. Can anyone help in identifying or opening it?"
Raulzig produces a rather plain-looking scroll case from his pocket, and points at a small intricate rune at one of its sides.
Raulzig Turfoodle
Well, I sensed the magical aura coming from one of the crates and went straight for it. The crate was trapped, mind you, but it was a primitive contraption which I have easily bypassed. Other crates looked absolutely the same as that one, but I think they actually contained spices. I didn't do a very thorough check of the caravan as I got distracted by the sounds of battle. We can return and do a quick sweep together, if you'd like. But I think we were about to repurpose the caravan for our needs anyway?
