"I'll be ready." Barezata waits for Silena to tend to Hijiro.
When it is time to have a look at the door, Barezata will take 20 for a 30 to search for traps. Before opening it (assuming nothing interrupts us), she plans to drink the potion of bless and then use her spell-like ability to turn invisible.
Save your potion... Bless is part of Silena's pre-entry buffs she is going to cast for the party. Plus, she is going to give Barezetta her Blessing -
Darkness {Domain}: Enshrouding Darkness = Touch ally and bestow enshroud of shadows – Concealment 20%, 1min
- Foes able to see in supernatural darkness ignore
That should stack with your invisibility and help with your stealth rolls.
Hijiro
The movers are here packing us up and the moving truck comes tomorrow - I will have no internet until Friday, though I might have it UNTIL tomorrow morning sometime - If I don't post til friday though, bot me as necessary please... sorry for the interrupt.
Silena Dulare
Waiting on you Megan...
Silena Dulare
At -11 hit points only active because of her Diehard feat..Silena is helpless. Any action she takes will inflict one hit point of damage on her~ killing her. Even though taking out her potion of healing is a move action, drinking it is a standard action to drink it, likely killing her before she could even drink it! {Shrug}.. she is literally dead on her feet.
I think it might just be best for her to just fall unconscious and auto stabilize... with the Diehard feat...she's out of this fight...assuming we can even survive it now.
EDIT: Opps I miscalculated Silena's CON is 12 so she's at -10 hit points with 2 left before death. I could have her drink her potion.. but what then? With 2 hit points left one hit and she is dead... Xulthos' bonuses to hit are just to great she'd die almost immediately. She needs SERIOUS Healing to be any use!
Silena Dulare
Got a question... Megan.. Barazata rolled this on initiative...
Barezata stands silently waiting for the pompous bore to finish his speech, but also scanning his form for weakness, exposed flesh, a weak point in his armor, an old injury that makes it hard for him to duck.
Taking a move action to study while he delivers his speech and Sonya responds.
[dice=Initiative]1d20+6 {21}
Would not this shot have gone into Xulthos since Barazata acted before he could even start to drone, before he acted?
A strange feeling comes over Barezata as the drone of the wings seems to envelope her mind. She is barely able to clear her head enough to turn her eyes as the colours dance and weave over her. Shaking her head clear of the first effect, but not the second, she turns her attention from the demon and instead sends the arrow she intended for it, right into one of her allies before she winks back into visibility.
[dice=Will save (wings)]1d20+1+2
[dice=Will save (colours)]1d20+1+2
[dice=Confusion]1d100
Megan, looks like you get to decide who is closest. That studied action probably goes off against my ally instead of the demon.
[dice=Attack]1d20+12 {26} vs. flat-footed
[dice=Damage]1d8+9+1d6 {12}
At least the damage was close to minimal.
I'm only asking cause Sonya's spell went off before he could act as well and she got her spell off on him. Barazata should have gone EVEN before Sonya.
It would make a BIG difference with Silena's damage she'd Still be at positive 14 hit points and Xulthos would have 12 less!
Barezata al-Zarqa’
I was operating off the assumption that the demon got a readied action off against us, but agree that if Sonya got her spell off, I should have gotten that first attack off on the demon.
Not only that, but Barezata probably would have used a move action to study Silena once she was affected by confusion meaning the second arrow would not have been fired. I think that one missed anyway.
However, I don't think the demon took an AoO for Silena's movement so he probably has one more attack to resolve against her unless he is prevented from doing so for some reason.
Silena Dulare
Ah.. yes.. you are so correct. He does have an AoO on Silena left to resolve ...at a -4 for being blackened. Since Silena specifically moved out of his reach to cast her spell... on round three {when its announced} she can stand without provoking...and rejoin the battle!
Silena Dulare
Got a question... Megan.. Barazata rolled 21 on initiative... beating Xulthos int he first round of combat...
She should have gotten her shot off into him before he started droning just like Sonya got her spell of as Barazata was going faster than even Sonya.
I was operating off the assumption that the demon got a readied action off against us, but agree that if Sonya got her spell off, I should have gotten that first attack off on the demon.

And if Barazata would have to spend a Move action to study Silena.. she would NOT have taken that second shot from Barazata at all.
I need to know how much damage has Silena taken?
Silena Dulare
Same here.. I'll be going to Gen Con as well.. :)
Silena Dulare
No.. I'm still here ...waiting with a quiver of anticipation to post ...once I find out how much damage I've actually taken! :)
Silena Dulare
Thanks Mrs DM..very kind of you!
Hijiro
wb.. was it a blast?
Silena Dulare
Same... back from GenCon! Wow.. what a BLAST this year! :)
Barezata al-Zarqa’
Yes! The only thing that wasn't wonderful was that no one seemed to want to play The Darkest Abduction. I didn't have a single slot of it go off and I was scheduled to run six of them. They had me run Confirmation in one of those and Scions of the Sky Key Part 3 in another one. For the first time in years, I had time to really walk the hall which was great!
The specials were a blast. I GMed Siege of Serpents, played the Sky Key Solution and ran True Dragons of Absalom which was the best of the lot in my book. My son GMed Serpents Rise. I'll have to play or GM it later this fall. I almost got a chance to play it when my final Darkest Abduction slot was abducted, but the table got their sixth right before I got my shot.
Silena Dulare
Awe! Soooo sorry! 'Rise of Cobra'..er.. I mean "Serpent's Rise" was a FREAKIN' Riot! HAD a Scream playing that! I played Experiment 322 who I told everyone her names was "The Disciple"..hehe. The ONLY character of the lot who was not evil.. she was a Oracle of the Dark Tapestry... and mad as a hatter... served the Lurker in Darkness... oh gods I had a blast with the... ia' ia' fthgn Cthulhu! It was AWESOME! None of us died... and the story paved the way for future confrontations with Experiment 322 using what was learned from ripping a permanenet hole in the pathfinder Tapestry... to doing the same with the Dark Tapestry for all sort of tentacled Eldritch horrors to pour forth...mwahahahaha! And the one person who knew enough to possibly reverse the effect.. I walked away with his soul ... unable for anyone to raise him from the dead! It WAS E.P.I.C.!!! :)
Silena Dulare
I think we're all waiting on Barezata to post.
Yep.. I've already posted anyways...
Barezata al-Zarqa’
+1 level of slayer (stygian slayer)
HP: 1d10 ⇒ 6
Favored class: +1/6 slayer talent
+2 slayer talents
Skills: +1 Acrobatics, +1 Bluff, +1 Climb, +1 Disable Device, +1 Knowledge (local), +1 Perception, +1 Sense Motive, +1 Stealth
I've got some decisions to make on talents.
I think I should consider picking up trapfinding since Hijiro's archetype gives that up. I wanted to make sure that was a need we have to fill though so I don't step on anyone's toes.
For the other one, I'll probably go with Improved Precise Shot via the Ranger Combat Style option.
That will leave me to pick up things like Manyshot, Weapon Focus, Deadly Range, etc. down the road.
Hijiro
+1 lvl of rogue
hp: 1d6 ⇒ 5
+1 rogue talent: Positioning Attack
+1 to each of fort, refl and will saves
+1 bab (to +4)
9 sp: +1 each to acrobatics, bluff, climb, disable, perception, sleight of hand, stealth, know local, escape artist
Megan: wbl for 6th is 16,000 gp. Hijiro is currently at about 2500 gp in wbl.. any chance of catching up a little during the year of downtime? He is woefully underpowered as a result, not just in general, but in relation to other party members.
Barezata al-Zarqa’
Hijiro, Does it make sense to you to have Barezata pick up trapfinding so that she can handle magical traps. Just want to make sure I don't step on something you're planning to do. Its probably a pretty safe bet that Silena and Sonya won't head in that direction.
I hope Megan is willing to consider using the downtime to bring everyone to appropriate WBL. I think I built at WBL 4 so I think Barezata is not as far off, but this year long gap would make a lot of sense as a time to close that up and pick up appropriate things. We could probably assume that we sell other things off and just pick up again with WBL minus whatever we've spent in gold individually.
Hijiro
Hijiro has no intent of picking up trapfinding or trapsense abilities, since they are missing from his archetype, so no, not stepping on any toes to do so and if you WANT to, by all means pick them up,makes sense. You shouldn't feel obligated either, just if you want it, by all means.
I hope Megan is willing to get us up to wbl too, as it sucks to be this underpowered, lol.
Also, Megan, would it be possible to retool Hijiro using the Rogue Unchained rules?
Barezata al-Zarqa’
I think I'm going to pick up trapfinding, but not trapsense/trapspotter. Since Barezata will continue to have an excellent Perception and Disable Device, it seems to me we should have someone that can deal with magical traps by means other than having Sonya dispel them. Since I'll pick up a couple extra slayer talents with the human favored class bonus along the way, that is a good move for some more utility overall. I'll wind up with Manyshot at 7th level and the others will fall into place just fine.

I think we can see some added wealth turning up... or at least some tasty magic items for everyone. What would everyone like? Put together a wish list and we'll see...
Hijiro, you may retool with the Rogue Unchained rules if you want. Guess I'd better read them :)
Silena Dulare
Ok... some discussion.
THIS is the current Treasure list. I have gone back through the entire game thread and also included all the treasure the previous players found. They have left the game and a such we NEED the magic they effectively abandoned. Most of it is not very useful.. BUT since Silena can craft wondrous items.. that loot is VITAL in funding her crafting things useful to the party.. so I reclaimed it.
Silena
< FIENDFELL > +1 Lawful Outside Bane Great Axe
< LEOPARD'S PAW > +1 vicious punch dagger {Katar}
The katar or punch dagger looks old - maybe even 2-300 years old - and is 15 inches in length. An embossed image of a ferocious Katapeshi leopard adorns the weapon's hilt, while strange shadowy patterns writhe across its damascened blade, even in strong light. As it strikes, the extra damage from the vicious property manifests as if a great cat's claws had cruelly raked the victim's flesh with powerful critical hits!
[2,315gp] +1 Longsword
Ring of Featherfall
potion of clairvoyance
Sonya
[2,500gp] Ring of Jumping
Potions: 2x cure light wounds; bless
Hijiro
potion of expeditious retreat
Barezata al-Zarqa’
Potions: bless; see invisibility; cure moderate wounds
Original Party Recovered Loot -
43 gp worth of loose coins
chime of opening {ch10}
Samuel - fine silver bowl
[2,302gp] Raulzig Turfoodle - +1 Dagger
Raulzig Turfoodle - old shortsword CAMPAIGN ITEM
+ Raulzig WAS the original Mouldspeaker... but left the game without explanation
[2,312gp] Pashaj - +1 Heavy Mace
small teak box emblazoned with the holy symbol of Sarenrae
-wooden holy symbol of Sarenrae suspended from a silver chain
- Beautiful silver and enamelled brooch in the shape of a butterfly
[1,500gp] fully charged brooch of shielding
a sheaf of paperwork containing several alchemical formulae of great value to an alchemist. Including instructions covering the construction of restorative ointment and marvelous pigments
Jengren Dsustrun - A well-preserved book called "The Courts of Stone & Flame"
This is a treatise on genies of the elemental planes
... as you read, you learn the names of all five of the Templars of the Five Winds, their associated weapons, and the aspect of wind with which they are associated. The Templars are:
Davashuum (The Jackal's Price, The Final Wish): Davashuum is an amoral and deadly creature that served Nefeshti as an executioner and, in dire extremes, as an assassin. He represents the fury of winds from all directions and wields a powerful quarterstaff.
Kardswann (Howl of the Carrion King): A scout and traveller of the planes, Kardswann's weapon is an elaborate greataxe, and he represents the south wind, the most well-travelled and worldly of the winds. He is currently under the mental domination of Xulthos, a daemon imprisoned in the crypt below Kelamarane's ruined church of Sarenrae.
Pazhvann (The Jackal's Price): Pazhvann is Nefeshti's advisor and spiritual guide. He represents the east wind, upon which the whispers of the gods and the advice of elders is carried. His weapon is a tremendous burning flail.
Vardishal (Howl of the Carrion King): A general of Nefeshti's armies, Vardishal's spirit resides in the monastery laboratory. He wields whatever weapon is favored by his new host, and in life he represents the north wind, a wind said to carry the battle cries of all armies.
Zayifid (House of the Beast): Nefeshti's spy and diplomat, Zayifid was a messenger and spy. He represents the west wind, upon which secrets thought hidden were carried. His weapon is a delicate but razor-sharp scimitar.
The book also contains a brief entry on Jhavhul, who is listed as a shamed member of the efreet nobility of the City of Brass, a famed location on the Plane of Fire. The entry suggests that he ventured to the Material Plane in search of an army and a legacy to raise his standing, during which time he and his armies warred against the Templars of the Five Winds, but that he was never seen in the City of Brass again.
NOTE: All of this data is posted somewhere in the active Gameplay thread.. took a lot of work to find it all.. but I'm retentive like that!
What I propose is to pool the cost of all the itmes I've listed with a gold value and use that a pool of money to enchant some wondrous items for everyone.. they won't be powerful .. but every little bit helps! That sum comes to a total of 5,464gp 5sp at half value resale cost. Not much but Silena could still afford with that to make EACH of you something.. like a cloak of resistance +1 or so or even a blet/headband for a +2 Stat bonus. So consider that...
Now.. if we are going to be awarded WBL gold for our characters that is an additional 16,000gp for each of us to spend on gear.
THIS is what Silena would request -
[12,650gp] Folding Plate Armor
But also As PER Ultimate Campaign.. Silena would be investing gold in the Kalemarane Community. Specifically building a Barracks and a Temple then organizing her "Knightly" Order - basically a Mercenary Company in the Service of 'Princess' Almah~ The 'UNBREAKABLE - Knights of Almah'. Spending a Year living in Kalemarane and with the Honors already earned in the Princess' service makes me be believe Silena has the time to purchase all the Capital she needs to build/organize her projects at the Earned {half} cost.
+ Barracks [3,700gp – 1,850gp{earned}]
+ Mercenary Company “The UNBREAKABLE Knights of Almah” [1,850gp – 925gp{earned}]
+ Temple – ZON-KUTHON [1,400gp – 700gp{earned}]
She would need to add 125gp of her own present cash to afford all these projects IF she is awareded her 16,000gp WBL amount.
Now, the Temple of ZON-KUTHON she is organizing ... in truth would be considered a Heretical or splintered faith were fanatical worshipers of ZON-KUTHON to look closely at their beliefs.
Basically Silena is preaching a doctrine of pain and suffering builds strength to overcome all obstacles through suffering the soul is purified and the body strengthened to become truly unbreakable. This philosophy does not really push the hurting of others for pleasure but focuses on self denial and self-inflicted hardship to gain strength! Not ritual self-scarification/mutilation or 'true' masochism.. but enduring a regimen of self-inflicted denial and suffering with intensive punishing exercise and martial training to build Warriors of unfailing resilience! No torture.. though some of the 'exercise' might be consider undully hard and abusive its is not done out of spite or any desire or pleasure from the suffering itself.. but the exaltation of enduring and standing unyielding ..stronger after the pain is passed and defeated!
This Temple is part of her Barracks for the 'UNBREAKABLE-Knights of Almah', and all the warriors will have the UNBREAKABLE Fighter Archetype when every possible!
As for the Mouldspeaker... I have played this first module of Legacy of Fire before.. but it died before we got to the next chapter in Book 2. The Mouldspeakers powers I think grow with time but all I know is the ability to manifest the weapon "Tempest", the "CAMPAIGN ITEM" that Raulzig would have inherited, and its not a ranged weapon its a melee weapon - originally a scimitar. So meh.. up to you Megan on that score. So yes, if I'm allowed to wield it and become the Mouldspeaker.. I'll keep it in its Scimitar form.. not the shortsword {it changes to fit the weilders need}.. but I like the traditional look for it. Both 'Tempest' and "Fiendfell" {which..I'm not sure what its name is or if it even had one originally... things that happened in this game did not go as they did in my previous game.. didn't even know this axe was in the adventure, but I assumed that Kardswann has a nice weapon~ shrug}, cannot be used at the same time of course..so if the party wishes Silena to surrender or sell one of them..she's sell "Fiendfell" and retrain her weapon focus feat from War Priest to Scimitar instead. She has a year after all. But I would council against just selling either weapon...
During that year... Silena will have Leopard's Paw fully identified ... I'd really like to know its REAL name, abilites and History! We never ran across this weapon in the LoF-Game I played before so I'm REALLY curious if this was just something you added Megan? :) Can the curse on the weapon be lifted so it does not inflict Lycanthrope on anyone wielding it?
Also.. I hope I've NOT given away too many spoilers.. but we do not have ANY of the original players and fact and lore they were given is lost unless one reads the entire post history. So I apologize if I've overstepped here.. but I do want this game to continue and I'm VERY eager to know where its all going...! Been over three years since my original Legacy of Fire game fell apart and I'm dying to know what happens next!
Silena Dulare
Oh.. yeah and Megan how does my leveling up now 6th level affect the stats of Silena's Wereleopard Form? Does she get more hit points better BaB.. does she heal when she switches from.. need some answer on that. Eventually Silena will be Waay more powerful than her leopard form unless it grows in power in step with her.
@ Barazata - I think you should carry the Chime of Opening...since your planning on being our trap/open locks specialist.
Oh.. and Megan sent me this...
No worries :)So, would you like to organise the 'discovery' of a cache of goodies and their distribution during the year of down time?
As you have volunteered to be the Mouldspeaker, how much do you know about it? We can have you take a trip back to the monastery where you can find the goodies and become the Mouldspeaker (as you recall, the becoming happens in the crypts...). How does that sound?
So we can spit up the old loot found by the previous party... As I'm sure Sonya will want to do also a detailed search of the Old Monestary to Sarenrae that Lady Almah was staging at before coming to Kalemarane... as she was not part of its search and cleaning out..either. Even though there are still pugwampi living in there now.
Hijiro
Hijiro's wish list:
Daredevil boots of the cat (2 magic items in one, doable with magic creation rules if someone is crafting for us) val 2900 gp (basic cost of one item plus 1.5 x the cost of the second ability)
gloves of reconnaisance 2000gp
swarmbane clasp 3000 tp
sleeves of many garments 200 gp
any sort of magical rapier or other blade, long sword would be fine too, as his rebuild will be proficient with one. magical kukri would be nice too.
without a magic weapon, that would put him at 8,100 gold in wbl... but since others are obviously over wbl, i figure a few gp over isn't atrocious. Since we have a crafter, these things can be MADE for half cost (I know, still valued at full for wbl)...
As for cooperating on setting up a business with Barezata, that would be fine, and kinda fun. I could see the two of us running the local gangs in a year, organizing them into a guild, maybe having a legit business as a front as well.
will work on the unchained rebuild later today.
Silena Dulare
Ah.. Hijiro.. WBL for a 6th level character is 16,000gp. And WBL does NOT take into account saving that money, which you can by the way. You can 'invest' it in say.. a crafter making you an item at half cost... npc's won't do that... but Silena will! So yes you can get 1/2 Cost in item creation. In either case you still have a little under 8,000gp in WBL to spend.. thats a +2 weapon at the very least. Silena is also a weaponsmith...she can make a weapon for 1/3 materials cost! But SHE cannot enchant magic weapons... sorry. You'll have to pay full price for that. :)
Megan has already done that in other games she has run for crafters.
And as for your 'Business'~ again Ultimate Campaign spells it out Very nicely...

Barezata al-Zarqa’
If we go the route of applying WBL to crafting, I'll probably have Silena go ahead and craft two items for Barezata
- Belt of Physical Might +2 (Str, Dex)
- Bloodstained Gloves
Those would be 9,000 gp.
I think we should probably sell the chime of opening. At this point Barezata is +20 on Disable Device.
Silena Dulare
Ok... crafting wondrous items...
Hijiro -
Daredevil [CL: 3rd, cat's grace] boots of the Cat [CL: 1, featherfall; 2,900gp]

Silena has a +6 Spellcraft currently so with a Take 10 action and a guidance spell; she can hit all the Craft DC without rolling!
Cost: 9,550gp; Time: 19days - Enjoy! :)
-----
Selling the Chime of Opening.. may be a little shortsighted for it can be very useful when time is of the essence... but it would increase the general pool of money for enchanting to 6,964gp {none of which we have made use of ...as yet}.
If the party would not mind... Silena would like to use 2,000gp of it for a Belt of Strength +2 for herself.
The Folding Armor {+1Full Plate} is so she can remove her armor without taking minutes to do so in combat so she can shift to her wereleopard form with ease. Be nice if she could re-trigger the amulet form of the item around her kitty neck in her leopard form and it reshape to wrap her feline form in +1 full plate too.. THAT would be Awesome! :)

@Silena, of course you may research Leopard's Paw.
En-Nebi, Blade of the Leopard
Aura moderate transmutation; CL 9th
Slot —; Price 10,302 gp; Weight 1 lb.
Description
Crafted in Katapesh some 300 years ago, En-Nebi is a katar some 15 inches in length. An embossed image of a ferocious Katapeshi leopard adorns the weapon’s hilt, while strange shadowy patterns writhe across its damascened blade, even in strong light.
In combat, En-Nebi is treated as a +1 vicious punch dagger. As it strikes, the extra damage from the vicious property manifests as if a great cat’s claws had cruelly raked the victim’s flesh. While this effect can be unnerving, the consequences for the katar’s wielder are even worse: if he confirms a critical hit with the weapon, he must make a DC 15 Fortitude save or contract a form of lycanthropy, becoming a Katapeshi wereleopard lycanthrope.
Easily twice the size of common leopards, Katapeshi leopards are infamous for their savagery. Now extremely rare, these massive creatures once ranged from Nex to Thuvia (same stats as tigers). Treat Katapeshi wereleopard lycanthropes as chaotic evil weretigers. (That's the original, by force of will Silena has got some semblance of control over her were-self and is only CE if she wants to act that way!)
Construction
Requirements Craft Magic Arms and Armour, bestow curse, summon monster IV; Cost 5,151 gp, 412 XP
