Xavian is 6’4” and 206 lbs. He is lean man with tight, but not particularly gaunt features. His dark black hair is of a medium length, well-groomed, and clean. His piercing grey-blye eyes are sharp and stern. His expression is often that of a man thinking about serious matters. He's not an unattractive man, though no model. He wears a wide-brimmed hat with the front brim folded down in a manner that somewhat conceals his face. He's not a man that enjoys being studied by others, rather he enjoys studying others undisturbed.
Xavian is academic, careful, and thoughtful preferring to solve problems with reason over brute force. He is respectful of lawful institutions when they do not interfere with his pursuits. He doesn't mind occasionally stepping out of the bounds of society if purusing an end worthy of doing so. He dresses sharply, but not flamboyantly. And is very aware of the effect clothing can have on perception. Xavian enjoys a puzzle and the peculiar. He strongly believes in emotional control and will rarely "show his cards" either with his expression or voice if he can help it. Privacy is very important to Xavian. He doesn't spend much time carousing in the social circles of his peers preferring time at the library and lab. He is slow to make friends, but loyal if he does. He does not make acquaintenances easily given his standoffish attitude, especially present when dealing with people of a lesser intellect. He is curt when he does speak, preferring to deliver an answer he considers direct and correct even if the listener does not perceive it as so. Suffice it to say he is a difficult man to befriend, though a valuable friend to have if one can get past his lack of social grace.
Xavian is the youngest son of Harper Graves, a prominent wizard in the city of Magnimar in Varisia. His mother is Annalise Graves (Maldolav), the daughter of a prominent merchant family in Magnimar of the Sczarni people. She is trained in Harrow Deck reading. His father married her for her great beauty and her ability to see the future.
Xavian is a practitioner of the arcane and a scholar. He spends a great deal of time in libraries public and private. His father Harper Graves is a powerful wizard in Magnimar that trained his young son in his craft. Though his father is not a lord or noble by choice (He does not enjoy being distracted from his arcane studies), he is a respected man in Magniamr whose counsel on all matters is often sought.
Xavian having come of age recently and being a restless man has received the blessing of his father to set forth on an adventure to the Lost Coast to seek out knowledge and practice his craft. His father is a firm believer that you cannot become a master of the arcane arts until you have learned to apply your skill in the real world, not necessarily in battle, but in situations that require creative use of the arcane.
Xavian's father is particularly interested in ancient Thassilon. It is said that there is still much arcane information to be gleaned fromt the ancient ruins that dapple Varisia's landscape. He feels this would be a perfect opportunity for furthering his knowledge of the former Empire by sending his son on this expedition.
Xavian has been entrusted with a charter due to the status of his father in Magnimar.
Xavian’s past is shrouded in mystery. He attended school in Magnimar and is a student of the country’s law as well as a scholar with a vast knowledge of many things.
Young Xavian after completing his schooling begin preparing himself for a life of adventure by learning to fight and utilize the various tools of the adventurer be it skills or magic to give himself the greatest possible means of surviving and success as an adventurer. His intent is to discover as much as possible about the world about him while at the same time participating in whatever events and situations cross his path so he is as much a part of history as a student of it.
