Tessai
"It is not as if we have many more options than to follow the clues left for us - it could all be a ruse to make us trust whomever is behind this, simply to be betrayed later on... But still, either we follow the suggestions or not" - Tessai grumbles.
"I still fear that, bypassing all that is potentially dangerous may cause us in the end to not come across other denizens of this place, that we should put down for the good of everyone..."
Aemon Brooks
"We're pretty beat up, if we can skip all of these hellish traps maybe we should keep going with what these notes tell us, i agree with Tessai. Maybe Corellon could take point? incase this is just one big trap."
Corellon Aelasar
"I can take point, not a problem. As far as what approach to take with this place, we are badly in need of rest - is there no way to come back later? If not I understand the need to press on."
For when we move on ...
Trapfindeing: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (7) + 12 = 19
Edmond Harrow
Jumping on Tesai's anxiousness about the incarcerated Devil, Edmond chimes in;
Well I say we should destroy that fiend we encountered earlier. it has a weapon that will be of use to us and if there's one thing Brandon has taught me its that its better to have something and not need it, than need it and not have it.
Corellon Aelasar
"You are right Tessai, maybe not leaving, but pehaps we could rest a while and give our bodies a chance to recover some ... I understand that may not be possible, but if it is it may be wise."
Corellon Aelasar
"But my beauty sleep ... " Corellon muses with a wink.
Assuming I am on point
As the party makes their way along the narrow path he is mindful for any traps along the floor or walls. "This place has it out for us for sure."
Trapfinding: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (19) + 12 = 31

As you walk into the next room, you see one door on the other side. As you begin to move up, the door closes behind you. In front of you, you see a pair of spiked fiends, interwoven through bodily cavities and impaling limbs, spin in a dance with their twin curved knives. A fearsome sight indeed. Before you can react, behind you, a crossbow bolt shoots out of the dark...
Crossbow, vs. Flat Foot AC, Fort Save if Hit: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (5) + 11 = 161d4 + 4d6 ⇒ (4) + (2, 4, 3, 1) = 14
... Tessai blocks it with her shield. She spins around, and sees a tiefling (Sian, Pic in shared folder).
The tiefling laughs as she moves back into the shadows. You can't fight what you cannot see, dear...
1d20 + 16 ⇒ (18) + 16 = 34 (If you wish to spot her, you must roll perception at the beginning of your turn and meet this number).
Combat Begins!

The monster in front of you is wielding two Kukris, and has razor sharp claws (4 arms total).
Tessai
No chance to make that perception check :/
Taking a step back(5' towards the back), and tired of all this facade, Tessai spits out such a bile filled tirade of insults that the sheer words grate in everyone's ears.
Casting Blistering Invective.
Intimidate: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (13) + 15 = 28
If intimidate works:
Fire Damage: 1d10 ⇒ 10
After this, Reflex save DC14 or catch fire
"Lets dance then!!" - Tessai growls at the darkness.
AC: 22
HP: 33

"Not again, what the @#%& am I supposed to do with this?
Corellon decides his chances are better against an invisible target rather than an invincible one. He moves back to join Tessai and draws both of his blades, trying to make out where the Tiefling went to.
Know I am rolling dead here, but for effect ...
Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (19) + 11 = 30
Beppo van Drotske
Beppo sets his jaw, takes a wide stance, and holds his blade between his body and the demon.
Ready action to attack once the asura (or any other bad thing, for that matter) gets within range:
Readied attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
damage: 2d6 + 1 ⇒ (3, 6) + 1 = 10
twelve - ha!

I've been waiting for this!
Have it your way Brandon!
He rips the vial from Brandon bandolier and guzzles it greedily. Within seconds a riot of adrenaline is coursing through his veins. He arches his back in painful ecstasy and let's out a chilling laugh.
Hp=39/39
Ac=18
Str=27 Mutagen and bulls strength for the win
You think we're trapped in here with you? You're trapped in here with us, demon-whore!
He moves back toward the last place he saw the demon. Waiting impatiently for her to reappear.

Missing Aemon's actions. EVIL
Round 1
The devil creature laughs off the bolt from Kyle. Tessai uses a spell.
Reflex Tiefling: 1d20 ⇒ 20
SR Check: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15
The Demon seems unaffected, and the tiefling remains out of sight.
Edmond guzzles a potion as BD moves to protect Beppo.
Enemy turn
The devil cast a spell, and begins popping in an out of existence rapidly with a grin on his face. He moves 20' towards the party.
An bolt shoots out of the darkness towards Black Devil.
Crossbow: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (20) + 11 = 311d4 + 4d6 ⇒ (2) + (1, 5, 6, 6) = 20
Crossbow: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (8) + 11 = 191d4 ⇒ 1
I don't THINK BD has deflect arrow...but if ya do, let me know
The arrow strikes BD right between his ribs, causing him to gasp quite audibly. You all turn to see the tiefling. She waves, takes a step forward off the stairs and falls into the pit and out of sight.

Can I move through the pfl and this demon thing (albeit with aoo)? Just so that at least two of us can attack it at the same time.
Probably not. HOWEVER, the stairs go in a circle that inevitably wind around and somehow come back to where you started. If someone runs far enough in the other direction (120') they seem to come back to where they started.
Edmond Harrow
The crazy nature of the place speaks to Edmond’s unique sensibilities.
Without hesitation he moves quickly along the steps away from the creature, knowing if he continues long enough he will somehow come out behind it.
My movement speed is 30ft. I assume I can’t sprint down these steps because I’ll break my neck. 3 x movement seem reasonable?
Beppo van Drotske
Beppo continues to wait for the thing to come to him.
Better? readied attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
damage: 2d6 + 1 ⇒ (6, 2) + 1 = 9
He wavers slightly, reeling from the effects of various drains earlier in the Knot.
Ha! That'll teach ya!
Tessai
Tessai would like to first try and determine exactly how the one facing her is popping "in and out". Not sure exactly what to roll - I believe a spell was cast, so I am rolling both Spellcraft and Knowledge (Planes).
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22
Knowledge (Planes): 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (1) + 11 = 12
Would decide my actions based on the information obtained if any.

Edmond, difficult terrain is only one half speed.
Anemon, you can use the new rule I posted in discussion some time ago to catch up one missed turn.
Tessai, you have not seen a spell cast so spell craft will not help. You have seen people fall into these pits before only to appear moments later falling from above. You are just unsure how she is able to pop into the pit and be sniping you the next round, though if there were spells or spell like abilities involved, you imagine that would help. But right now you've seen nothing. She seems to use the shadows very effectively, even while in sight!

Is there a small enough space we're in to eliminate the shadows if we all pulled out the light source BD gave everyone earlier? Wouldn't Tessai and BD receive a bonus to spot her since they can see in the dark?
