Alright... I'm still not quite back to full health, but I've made my decision! Drumroll, please...
The party will consist of:
Kiernan Kala
Natalie Moongroves
Narciso Silvertongue
Rodger Baruk
and finally (the hardest choice to make)
Cassius
I realize this makes us a bit caster heavy, but I think it'll work out.
Anyway, I'm gonna rest up the rest of the day and we will start officially tomorrow morning. Thanks to everyone who offered characters.

Okay, so confirming our party makeup:
Rodger the Ranger
Narciso, Rogue
Natilie, Witch
And then Kiernan and Cassius as sorcs.
Narciso, I took Seeker Sorc primarily so that I could have Trapfinding and DD, but if you've got a dedicated rogue I won't bother with that (I know that Rakes don't get trapfinding, but you still get a good DD)... basically, up to you-- would you prefer I kept some focus up on traps, or would you rather be primary traps-person?
I'm debating switching out to Sage or Empyreal bloodline-- Sage because I want Cassius to be a decent Int char, or Empyreal cuz it wouldnt' be bad to have some Wis in the group and we have plenty of CHA already.
....of course, all of this is contingent on whether the GM lets me tweak things now that we have a finalized party. ;)
Also, GM, are we supposed to take normal gold for our class, or just the straight-up 150 gp "normal" gold for level 1 chars?

Narciso Silvertongue |

Hmmmmm...Narciso does have Disable Device trained (he has a history with breaking and entering) but you're right that he doesn't get trapfinding as per normal rogues. I'll leave it up to you--if we rely on Narciso to disable traps we probably won't be screwed, but he won't be as good as a normal rogue.
Also note that his Perception isn't worth a damn, so he will likely have to have the traps pointed out to him first. :P

Lol, well if I dropped Seeker and went Empyreal, I could have a nice high Perception and then point them out to you. ;)
It just means we couldn't disable magical traps but would have to trigger or bypass them. Honestly, I run into traps so rarely in Pathfinder...
I'll probably switch it out, but I'll wait for confirmation from GM that he's okay with me making changes.
Time to make an alias for Cassius.

Rodger Baruk |

I'll have a great perception too, so you shouldn't run into too many problems there. I guess I am filling the tank role? As long as I survive the first four levels, we will be good once I get a kitty Kat :D
I think the disable magical devices is going to be really useful, because no doubt we are going to detect magic EVERYWHERE and not being able to take out a trap is really going to suck.
Thanks for choosing me, DM, I really appreciate it. Thanks for rping everyone! I had fun.
P.S. Cassius, dont jinx us by saying you rarely get trapped lol

The things, there are usually ways you can get around a trap once you know it's there. Summoning creatures atop it, for instance. I was in a group that had a wand of Summon Mount, and that was the only and primary way we EVER disarmed traps for like six levels' worth of adventuring. We also only used like 12 charges off that wand in those six levels.
It's not always pretty, but there are a lot of advantages if I go with something besides Seeker Sorc, and the only real benefit of Seeker Sorc is the trapfinding.
And yeah, you're our tank, bro. ;) Good luck....

Rodger Baruk |

True true, unless its an alarmed trap. But most cases you can tell if it is or not. I plan on going full ranger, so my AC won't be very high, I'll just save up for Mithril Full Plate ;) As long as we have high caster DPs and some battlefield control, we shouldn't have to worry too much. Natalie has healing too which is nice.
I vote as soon as we have enough GPs we pool and get a happy stick.

Why wouldn't you be able to use it on yourself?
Effect: This acts as a cure light wounds spell, using the witch’s caster level. Once a creature has benefited from the healing hex, it cannot benefit from it again for 24 hours.
There's no reason clerics can't cast CLW on themselves; I don't know of any reason why a witch can't use her beneficial hexes on herself.

Rodger Baruk |

Remember you lose all your bonus combat feats if you wear heavy armor... ;)
And yeah, I'm very down with the idea of a happy stick.
All I need is a feat in heavy armor proficiency: "Most mithral armors are one category lighter than normal for purposes of movement and other limitations. Heavy armors are treated as medium, and medium armors are treated as light, but light armors are still treated as light. This decrease does not apply to proficiency in wearing the armor. A character wearing mithral full plate must be proficient in wearing heavy armor to avoid adding the armor's check penalty to all his attack rolls and skill checks that involve moving. Spell failure chances for armors and shields made from mithral are decreased by 10%, maximum Dexterity bonuses are increased by 2, and armor check penalties are decreased by 3 (to a minimum of 0)."
Booyah!

It has nothing to do with your proficiency, Rodger. Under the core entry for Rangers, it says:
The benefits of the ranger's chosen style feats apply only when he wears light, medium, or no armor. He loses all benefits of his combat style feats when wearing heavy armor.
And fair enough, Natilie, though I would look very askance at a GM who ruled you couldn't use your hexes on yourself.

'How long we can hold them off before they crash on us' is only really gonna be an effective tactic when we've got some starting distance between us and the enemy. Other than that, we're... essentially in melee in every fight just because that's how fights work.
I was proooobably going Toppling Spell route with magic missile which will give us some battlefield control options down the road, but honestly, if you're not planning on seriously focusing on melee for three more levels/when you get an animal companion, I may do some major rebuilding of my build so that I can semi-tank. (Again, assuming GM lets us rebuild/tweak.)

Rodger Baruk |

Well of course I am going melee, that's not the issue here. For me, (depending on the situation of course) its going to be preferable to get a good dent in their HP before I have to whip out the great sword. Take a look at my Character Sheet and you will see that I haven't even started on ranged. By level four I will be using a bow but I plan to get QuickDraw so that I can hop on melee after a round. Maybe I'll get improved initiative too, dunno yet. We also have a rogue so we arent completely helpless :)
