"I figured it was something like that. For time immemorial, Thrune or some other Asmodean, has been rewriting the truth to suit them. The first Abrogail even tried to change the Huntress of Heroes to feature Asmodeus more prominently... And she calls herself a fan of the arts." Your mother shakes her head. "I don't know the official wordings. I haven't been out today." she comments with a bit of dry humor. "I'll let Maybelle know that Thrune wasn't completely innocent, though you know she won't listen. Are you planning on heading back out? Curfew is only a few hours away." She adds with a smirk.
Lia nods. "I met some like-minded folks at the protest, so it wasn't a TOTAL loss." She bounces on her heels. "We've been asked to meet at a place called the Lucky Bones if we want to start liberating Kintargo in earnest."
"By the way, how's Dad doing?" She glances upstairs.
I probably shouldn't interrupt him--he might be in the middle of worshipping Arshea, so to speak...

"Quite," Adonara adds tersely in Celestial, indicating that she hadn't realized she had chosen a language that didn't go as far as she had hoped.
"Dreamweaver?" she asks the man, hoping she doesn't sound absolutely hidebound for not recognizing the name. Is my Google-fu failing me, and should I know what this stuff is? How much it costs, or the like? "I'm afraid we don't have any. Can we do anything else to help you?"
Even as she asks, she sends a significant look around the group, as much as to say, Don't say anything you don't want this man to overhear, if we can't help him to move on.

The building is basically four outer walls, with three fireplaces, much of the group is near the man, who seems to have been using the fireplace as a sort of shelter. There are multiple puddles from the earlier rain, and he's lying close to one.
Rexus nods to Adonara, he also hadn't intended to highlight her mistake, but didn't want Rakhel left in the dark... and was following her lead in keeping it less... accessible. "I... don't believe we can." Rexus says, shaking his head as he responds to Rakhel, and then keeps doing so as he looks to Adonara once more, he didn't know what Dreamweaver was, either.
"Need it. Money? If you have money, I can get it." his face seems to follow the sound of Adonara's and Rakhel's voice, though his eyes stare blankly past them. "Ple-he-he-hease.." he sobs, as he turns over and starts to pull himself across the ground towards the group as a whole, gritting his teeth each time his hands hit cement.
Her mother shakes her head at the question of her father. "Haven't seen him since this morning... but you know him. He's likely found some more things to do around town. The coast is clear, if you need to get something from upstairs... and the stew will wait. It won't be good for a few more hours, anyway."
Rakhel
"Even had I money, I don't think it wise to help him get this dreamweaver... it seems to be quite debilitating." Rakhel says quite openly, whether he can hear and comprehend her or not. "However if this is something common in town, perhaps there ought to be an edict against it instead of against harmless things like the arts... "

Despite herself, Adonara almost recoils as the man starts crawling towards them, and she can't quite keep the horror from her voice, "Can you even stand, human? Look at what it's done to you!"
All the same, she looks him over for other signs of illness, especially malnourishment. What do you folks think? Send him off with just enough to buy some Turnip Surprise to keep him from starving and out of our hair, but not enough for him to plan on getting his fix?
Kesin
Kesin had seen plenty of drug abuse on the streets. Not something she ever wanted for herself...trying to escape reality that way just meant lying to oneself, while making things worse in the real life, AND leaving you unable to fix those things for prolonged periods of time.
Suffice to say, it usually did not end well. Looking at the man trying to follow sound, Kesin speaks up: "He's suffering from withdrawal. Means he'll try and get his fix elsewhere. Not much you can do unless you mean to imprison him and force him to wait it out.", carefully moving to avoid the man as she speaks, then, after a moment, adds:"Also, don't get too close...he may seem calm, but-...", letting her voice trail off, leaving the implication open.

"Can stand fine. Just need more." the man on the ground grunts out as he pulls himself forward, his feet scrabble against the foundation, but he definitely cannot push himself up to standing, only barely managing to drag himself forward.
Rexus looks from the man back to Kesin as Kesin shares a more... intimate knowledge than any of the others had on the effects of the drug, leaving him to quirk an eyebrow.
Lia Vantas
Sorry to keep you waiting!
By the time Lia reaches the flame-touched, decrepit tavern, the young actress is glancing all around, looking quite anxious about the approaching curfew. This time she bears a sturdy buckler on one arm and a simple-looking longsword in her other hand as she approaches.
She runs up to the rest of the group. "Sorry it took me so long--had to get some stuff from home." She looks down at the man on the ground. "So, um... what'd I miss?"
Rakhel
we're all here now, so don't need spoilers any more, right?
"We got here and found this man... he's addicted to some drug called 'dreamweaver'... poor fellow can't even get up I don't think... this must be an awful drug."
Kesin
"Hi Lia!", Kesin greets the new arrival, trying to hide her relief at seeing Lia decided to really come, and made it here.
When Lia approaches the man, Kesin makes one quick step closer before stopping herself and quickly repeats, more clearly:"Be careful, Lia...people in withdrawal can be...suddenly dangerous-", not paying attention to Rexus reaction.
Turning to the others again, with a questioning look on her face, she asks: "So...what's the plan?"
Kesin
"Yeah...but...how?", Kesin asks with the same quizzical look on her face, "I've seen addicts, but so far, it was always smarter to avoid them...", she adds with innocent/brutal honesty.

"Belatedly, I think I would have to agree with you," Adonara tells Kesin ruefully, keeping her voice low. Shaking her head in sympathy, she continues more openly, "I've never heard of the drug he wants, but from what I know about this sort of thing, it's a question of his body's craving, now. The iron cure might be his best hope at this point, and if he's this far gone, I can't think how long he would need someone to look after him to keep him away from ... the source of his problem."
Let sleeping dogs lie, she reminds herself. Glancing from Jack to the others, she suggests, now that they're all here and can proceed to where they meant to be going, "Shall we?"

The man is cognizant enough to understand, now, that these people don't have any drugs for him - and don't intend to give him any. "Hungry and thirsty. Spare some gold, maybe?" he asks in a sickly-sweet voice, looking to Lia with eyes rendered into pools of black as he stares blankly in her direction.
Rexus has been silent as he watched how the others reacted - he was still uncertain of precisely how to deal with everything - especially this man. "Our plans probably shouldn't be talked about in strange company." he says, looking towards Jack, "Though we don't have much business left in this area."
Perception (Lia): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
Kesin
Sense Motive Assist: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (11) - 1 = 10
"You do know he'll just get more Dreamweaver, right?", Kesin whispers to Lia:"Bring him food and drink instead, not coin-"
That's what she believes regardless of a Sense Motive. Even if the guy is utterly legit, Kesin is certain he's a down-in-the-dumps druggie who will put every coin he gets his hands on towards his next fix...
