Great magical hailstones pound down upon casting this spell, dealing 3d6 points of bludgeoning damage and 2d6 points of cold damage to every creature in the area. This damage only occurs once, when the spell is cast. For the remaining duration of the spell, heavy snow and sleet rains down in the area. That could be a good idea, although the stats for the fireworks here don't seem that promising on the damage front. Obviously that's player knowledge rather than character knowledge..

I've been pondering on the concept of a halfling cavalier and reading the bits around the archetypes and aside from the charge, =>cavaliers have this nasty ability to ride by and attacking, which i'm suspecting this guy of being capable of too.<=

Well ride by attack is the feat tax for Spirited Charge. If he has that he'll kill one of us per round. Of course add vital strike and it gets even more silly.

Niles is there anything around here considered difficult ground for him?

Encounter Map

Yes, the bridge is impassable unless you are on it, the stumps are impassable. You noticed that the ice doesn't bother him though. Also, the rough terrain caused by the hailstones effects everyone. Also, this guy has spell resistance, Lucanor would have known and said that. He also has both ride by attack, and spirited charge as well as trample.

Encounter Map

The fireworks work like the Skyrocket fireworks except they do not have a 1 round delay. Its a standard action to use them and they have a range increment of 90"

Fireworks:
SKYROCKET FIREWORK
Price 50 gp; Weight 1 lb.
When lit, this foot-long wooden tube begins to shake and emit a handful of white sparks, shedding light as a torch. One round later it takes flight, moving at a speed of 90 feet for 1d6 rounds before loudly exploding in a burst of light and sound, dealing 2d6 points of fire damage in a 10-foot-radius burst (Reflex DC 15 halves). Anyone who takes damage from the explosion is either blinded or deafened (50% chance of either) for 1 round. Crafting this item is a DC 25 Craft (alchemy) check.

Gilmork moves towards the firecrackers at the other end of the bridge and assumes they could work great, either affecting the coldrider or blasting apart the ice if bound together.

Desperation lends strength to Silas's arm and without thinking he jabs the cold rider with what looks to be a solid hit.

Mwk cold iron longspear: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
Confirm?: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19
Dmg if hit: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

Crit dmg: 2d8 + 2 ⇒ (1, 1) + 2 = 4

Hecktor attacks the horse.
Scythe w/pa: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (6) + 11 = 17
dmg: 2d4 + 8 + 6 ⇒ (2, 2) + 8 + 6 = 18

5ft step back.
2nd, he grabs a potion of cmw, i believe he still had 1 of those.
Hp recover: 2d8 + 3 ⇒ (3, 3) + 3 = 9

Encounter Map

Hecktor, you can't do all of that. Attack is a standard, 5' step is free and drawing a potion is a move action, drinking it is a standard action.

Encounter Map

Combat Round 6 inspire is down, and Prot from Chaos is Michael for 1, Lucanor for 2 and Silas now for 5 rounds.
Silas attacks! Hitting the Cold Rider for 11!
Michael attacks! PA,MWK Warhammer, 2 hand: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15 but he misses the Cold Rider.
Hecktor misses the undead mount. He heroically drinks a potion, healing himself for 9.

In other words, i'll faint from cold dmg unless i spend a hero point huh..... so be it. Down to 1 hero point.

Niles do reach weapon threatened squares include the diagonal corners? If so it would make sense for Silas to take two 5' steps north (one this round and one next) to flank with Michael.

Lucanor moves forward, slowing down only as he steps onto the ice So not to slip on it. I should be able to reach melee next round and calls out, "Iomedae guide our feet and hands as we dance the bloody steps about the boneyard's pit!"

Bless spell, +1 vs fear, and to hit for all allies

I'll hold onto the hero point for now since the GM seemed to think I should save it for myself

Hecktor did you account for the flanking bonus with me?

Gilmork steps 5 feet to the right and flanks together with Michael, hoping to get a solid hit in on the rider himself.

Attack, Shillelagh Club, Bite, Flank: 1d20 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 8 + 2 = 271d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 5 + 2 = 18

Damage, Shillelagh Club, Bite: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (5, 4) + 2 = 111d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

Edit: Right nvm you drank a potion.

Silas, no not 2 diagonals. You can only attack and thus threaten a forward and a diagonal, I'll illustrate on the map.

Encounter Map

Gilmork's club ruins the evil fey's face.....it falls dead and the undead mount tied to its master falls dead also.

Combat Over.

See.

When the Cold Rider falls, the Eye of Rapture he was wearing around his neck melts into nothingness. All the globes suspended above the Carnival wink out at once, plunging the area into darkness. You hear cries of pain and surprise as all of a sudden the townsfolk are no longer enthralled by the fairy magic.

Lucanor moves to the fallen fae, and cuts its head from its shoulders with his cold iron sword, "Pardon, but I'm not taking any chances on it getting up again some how." He looks about, "Is the enchantment on the carnival lifted?"

Silas looks shocked, "Uh. Oh. Is it dead? How did we survive?! I can't believe it after what it did to that poor half elf..."

I genuinely didn't think we were going to make that.
