After all, his companions even thought he was neutral instead of good, so now he really didn't care about them, and walked through the ruins without a second thought.

Kinda busy.
Still here, but I'll only be able to post later today, so don't need to wait for me.
Gamemaster Zedth
I have a minor emergency this weekend that may take a lot of my time. I will post as soon as I'm able.
Veronica
Sorry about that delay, remember the tree that fell on my house a while back? The contractor finally got the new roof on. And then it rained yesterday and leaked into my livingroom... where I had moved all of the furniture from the rooms that were being repaired... including my computer.
So yesterday was water damage prevention day. sigh
Veronica
Thanks, and I think we've done what we can for now. I'm emptying 2 dehumidifiers, three times a day to try and prevent mold from growing. Still waiting to see if we're going to have to rip two walls out. Definitely going to have to replace at least half of a rooms tongue-in-groove ceiling. Plus the area rug that we can't get dry because it keeps raining. And, of course, lots of painting.
And I've got to figure out somewhere to keep this furniture for now...
But hey, the hardwood floors made it out ok, so that's good.

For the mathz -
Roland you had 84/84 + 2/14 bonus HP at the beginning of this round.
You suffered:
-3 from the Wraith
-28 from the blood golem (putting you at 55/84, 0/14)
-then at the end of its turn it drained 2 Con damage, lowering your overall totals to 48/77 HP, 0/14 Bonus HP.
Roland, just Roland
I disagree with you on that Gromff, take a look why:
If You Are Grappled
If you are grappled, you can attempt to break the grapple as a standard action by making a combat maneuver check (DC equal to your opponent's CMD; this does not provoke an attack of opportunity) or Escape Artist check (with a DC equal to your opponent's CMD). If you succeed, you break the grapple and can act normally. Alternatively, if you succeed, you can become the grappler, grappling the other creature (meaning that the other creature cannot freely release the grapple without making a combat maneuver check, while you can). Instead of attempting to break or reverse the grapple, you can take any action that doesn’t require two hands to perform, such as cast a spell or make an attack or full attack with a light or one-handed weapon against any creature within your reach, including the creature that is grappling you. See the grappled condition for additional details. If you are pinned, your actions are very limited. See the pinned condition in Conditions for additional details.
GM please show him how mighty Roland is? ^_^
Gromff Hammerhand
Oh. I pulled this part from damage. Guess the one getting grappled has better options.
"You can inflict damage to your target equal to your unarmed strike, a natural attack, or an attack made with armor spikes or a light or one-handed weapon. This damage can be either lethal or nonlethal."
And I realize even now I missed the "or". Hurr Durr. Never mind.

Also boss, I don't mean to cause my own death, but...
Flesh Golem vs Catcher, 2nd attack: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (20) + 13 = 33Damage: 2d8 + 5 ⇒ (6, 2) + 5 = 13
That's a nat 20.
I just saw it after posting my action. If that confirms, Catcher will most likely continue her actions, and try to slow down the golem, only a little bit more desperate inside.| Gamemaster Zedth |
Thank you Catcher. I just rolled a 7, so you're lucky indeed!
Roland, you are mighty, oh so mighty!
Catcher

Catcher Slows the golem for 7 rounds! (Catcher, your first fire spell didn't slow it because it wasn't yet 'formed' and so it didn't have the abilities of flesh golem yet....
Don't worry boss!
I don't make habit of questioning the GM actions thru gameplay indirect questions.
I somewhat got why it didn’t worked, based on your explanation before:
(…) As these are not typical golems, the following is not a typical reaction to attacking a golem with a spell--
However, from a character perspective, it make sense Catcher question why her ability didn’t work as she wanted, since she is still in the middle of combat and didn't had time to think about it.
So, I usually keep like this: When the it’s integrated to the character dialogue/internal monologue, it’s because I’m not expecting anything from the GM.If I as player, have a doubt, I’ll ask in out of character or in discussion. :)

My regular CMD is 10 + 7BAB + 6str + 1dex + 1 deflection = 25. With -2 dex that goes down to 24, and unfortunately the unchained rage does not add anything to that number, which I don't agree but...
Gamemaster Zedth
Hmmmm. The unchained version has some decent pros but that is definitely a con.
The spirit of the Barbarian's bonus is a raging strength increase. With the old system it boosted your strength rating which in turn boosted the CMB/CMD temporarily. I'm inclined to stick with the spirit of the rule and still allow a CMB/CMD bonus when raging, equal to the untyped rage bonus, just as if it were the old system.
So your typical CMD is sitting at 25.
-1 from the Dex penalty, +2 from rage = 26 right now during combat.
Gamemaster Zedth
Haven't heard from Veronica in nearly a week. I'll post an action for her tonight to move things along.
Veronica
Wow, has it been a week already? Sorry, I've been checking every day and kind of waiting to see what happened.
And I just remembered that you wanted us to post daily if we were waiting on something.
sigh
I'm so sorry for the inconsistency. Things have just been rather... hectic lately.
Gamemaster Zedth
Good to see you're okay and back with us.
Yes please, everyone, if you're waiting on someone else to post an action or for any reason (or no reason at all other than to chime in), please just pop in the discussion thread and say hello.
I would rather not wonder who/what we're waiting on.
No harm done though.

We're offering to build a huge statue in honor to the one who performs the deed. It will be as tall as the liberty statue and made of pure gold once we take back all the money that has been stolen by her party.

Drama is good for RP! *evil GM giggle*
These baddies are dangerous, but both golems are heavily damaged. You can still pull a win here, I have no doubt.
Gamemaster Zedth
Also for your review -
I've been using a new house rule in my home game and I've been digging it:
Weapon Focus/Weapon Specialization feats now apply to a selected weapon group (per the Fighter description in the CRB) instead of a selected single weapon.
The idea is to loosen things up a bit. Those are valuable feats but they're also limiting in that if a character finds a weapon that doesn't match their Focus feat, it is usually traded or ignored. I want my players to have the freedom to make more choices about what weapons they use, thus making the RP experience more fluid.
Thoughts?
Gromff Hammerhand
Doesn't really help me because of sacred weapon but the other might find benefit.
I have been playing with the idea of tracking certain stats behind the scenes and handing out feats based on use. Like if they attack 30 enemies with the same weapon they get weapon focus for free. If they damage 25 they get specialization. Or cast like 50 of the same school of spells and get Spell Focus. Nothing game breaking but it would help with feat intensive builds and shore up casters melee weaknesses if they practice. Catcher would probably have focus greatsword by now.
Gamemaster Zedth
I don't have time at the moment to confirm this but I seem to remember that a Warpriest can consider any weapon he/she has the feat Weapon Focus in, their Sacred Weapon.
If that is correct, then Gromff would be able to use an array of weapons that are still suitable for the Sacred Weapon class feature.
RE: your behind the scenes tracking
I like that. That is also a neat idea.
Gromff Hammerhand
Your right. I thought it was favored weapon only.
Gromff Hammerhand
OMG I wish I had seen Battle Templar before leaving cleric. I am definitely taking two levels of Warder and then Battle Templar next. That class is perfect.
Roland, just Roland
Roland's rolls weren't up to snuff and did not manage to hit. (Roland, are you including -2 to hit for being in a grapple?)
Yes, I am. I even pasted a spoiler with the attack breakdown:
To hit: +7 bba; +6 str; +2 stance; +2 rage; +1 magical; -3 PA; -2 grapple = +13
Damage: 1d8 + 6 str + 1 magical + 6 PA = 1d8+13
Gamemaster Zedth
Yes you did, thank you Roland. I did read that spoiler previously but forgot about it for the last round or two, which was my fault.
Gamemaster Zedth

I'm sorry to be the bad guy here but I am not allowing any Path of War content in this game. I already made the harsh decision to ask Macezar to rebuild Catcher because I wasn't comfortable with her level of Warlord.
Hope you can forgive me on this one.
Gromff Hammerhand
Oooooh. Okay. I can't force our party not to bum rush a pair of golems like idiots so Warder made since in that it gave the enemy penalties for focusing on them. But for the sake of consistency I will not beg. I think it best I focus on damage so I am a greater target then. Changing Weapon Focus would help because I could switch to a heavy flail.

Can I complement my action moving back as well? I had only used a standard to attack, and now that Gromff took the AoO's, supposedly I can safely step back. :D
Gromff Hammerhand
Warpriest could use some work but not as bad as I thought.
Catcher
|
I kinda got lost there.
If both attacks to Grom (25 and 27) was a miss, how is he grappled?
Don't the Golem need to hit, to start a grapple?
Edit:
Oh, dumb me.
The first one wasn't an attack, but a grapple attempt.
Gromff Hammerhand
I completely forgot to add the belt. Technically I wouldn't benefit from the con increase this fight so HP and Fort are still the same but I updated the max for when we heal tomorrow. Also missed out on a little damage but thankfully it didn't make a difference on attacks. Got surprisingly lucky this fight.

Catcher will claim the following items:
- Scroll of Mirror Image CL 3
- Scroll of Darkvision CL 3
- Scroll of Knock CL 3
- Scroll of Stinking Cloud CL 5
- Scroll of Deep Slumber CL 5
- Scroll of Beast Shape 1 CL 5
- Pearl of Power level 2
I'll copy them to my spellbook as soon I have spare time.
Zedth, what's the skill assossiated with the headband?
- Headband of Vast Intelligence +2

I'm not laying claim to anything. The chess set is a good flavor item, but it isn't quite in my characters standards at this point.
