Elgan Dreadwood
Elf, must, contain, laughter,... or suffer an AoO,...
"Er,... Nawt tah be a crittik mistah Stig suh, but ah'm t'inkin dat a lil' less gabbin' an' a lil' mo'e stabbin',...?"
Waiting to see the results of Stigg's (doubtlessly impending) attack, then I'll decide whether to heal him, retreat, or join in the attack!
Elgan Dreadwood
Tried to post this morn, but boards were crashing!
Elgan steps back a pace, his shield ever at the ready, and swiftly taps Stig on the back with the wand.
Will take 5' step to put Stig between me and the ugly if possible, if not, casting defensively with a wand,... lost roll from this morning, Add another +6HP back to Stiggy!
dungeonmaster heathy
ALTAI: (whenever; I reckon you're off gettin' hitched...)
Yet, your spells are all revitalized; it is as though you haven't cast at all. There's a buzzing in your head and a smell of ozone.
The unnatural mist parts, and you stand in the courtyard in front of the side door to a massive Chateau. Ivy creeps in a riot over every inch of the walls, as if seeking to pull them down.
Before you three gibbering meeping humanoids loll in the misty twilight on the stairs up to the doorway; upon seeing you they are immediately up; too long tongues dangling from within jaws with too many fangs.
"Meeeeeeat. Meeeat comes. Dinner on the hoof!"
They gibber, and twist to assail you.
They're 30 feet away...
Elgan Dreadwood
OK, so no 5' move, however I believe it IS legal to move THrough a FRIENDLY figure! So I will hold off on the healing, and use a withdraw action to pass back past Gittik in the hallway, and get out of the way!
The elf, Seeing himself between a rock-head and a hard-case, crouches down, snarling, and shimmers into a wolf. He very carefully and slowly backs up from the hobgoblin, growling all the time. His canine form slinks easily between the wall and the feral Hobniz, who suddenly finds that he has a clear shot at the tall, ugly humanoid in the doorway,...
HE's all yours Gittik! Enjoy!
;P
dungeonmaster heathy
"GAAAAAAAHH!"
Full attack on the hobbo. Roll to hit with scimitar = 6 + 10 = 16, damage = 4 + 6 = 10, kukri attack = 12 + 10 = 22, damage = 2 + 3 = 5.
The scimitar misses; the kukri slashes the hobgoblin's shoulder really bad, scything through it in a weighty crunch.
He looks pretty shaky, like one or two more good stabs'll do him in.Riese!
like I said; today may be shaky for me; might be a while (i.e. tonite) before I get to their attacks; IDK yet. But it's Riese's go anyway, so WTF.
dungeonmaster heathy
The hob fighting Gittik at b4 stabs at him with his longsword, and Gittik takes 17 h.p. damage. It feels as though he's been shocked as well as stabbed; tiny lightning dances on the blade.
The hob fighting stig at b6 stabs, and misses.
The two hobs at b8 and b9 step back to a8 and a9; the one at a9 is being assailed by the heavenly arthropod summoned by Altai at a10, and has his hands full; he looks bad off. The one at c10 moves to b10 to attack the scorpion; hits; the scorpion is injured. Two hob's and a scorpion trade blows at that corner of the room.
The one that moved to a8 fires another firebolt at Stiggy who saves and takes 6 h.p. in damage, or doesn't save and takes 12 h.p. damage.
(save d.c. 12)
The black robe appears at A7. He becomes visible....from his right hand there is a tiny chain, about 5 feet long, attached to the delicate ankle of a tiny faerie princess hovering in the air; she's about 6 inches tall. His head is still hidden in the robes, but his clawed hands look hobgoblinish...
He gestures, and the hallway erupts in a ball of eldritch fire.
Stig; Gittik; Bel; save d.c. 16 or taketh 19 h.p. in damage!!!
round 4!!!
dungeonmaster heathy
Altai:
Beldan Vale
Beldan leaps up as the fire explodes in the corridor, his hands finding purchase on either side of the narrow passage. He somehow manages to hold himself aloft until the burst of fire dies down below him, then drops back to the floor, his nether-regions only slightly warmed.
Then he dodges into the chamber, past Gittik, nimbly avoiding the relfexive attack of the hob within, and stabs at the enemy with his rapier.
Tumble to B5, 20+11 = 31. Rapier attack: 16+4 = 20. Damage: 4+1 = 5. Not flanking, so no sneak attack.
Altai Iscarni
5' step away from the fighting before casting [i]Burning hands[/]. As they were flanking me, they are also close enough together that I'll hit both with the blast. I still need a concentration check, though... Concentration 11+10=21, which is more than enough. Damage 14, Reflex DC 16 for half. BTW, is my [i]Shield [/] spell still up? It wouldn't have helped me against the flanker, but it'll be useful against a single enemy.
Stigwold Mæch'Hæmmær
"Once an fer all..."
[power attack] Axe, damage: (1d20+7=26, 1d10+13=21)
SCHWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANG!
"Like the, de ye? Ye want some moor?"
AC18
dungeonmaster heathy
Stig's axe hammers him hard in the chest. He's still standing, though is grievously wounded. He tries to play it off, laughs; it's hard to play off when you're spitting up blood though.
"Is that.....the best you can do.....spluh! Nnnng?!?!! Oh, Maglubiyet! Aaaah..."
Altai Iscarni
Fortitude save 11+4=15.
"How do you know my name, corpse-eater?" Altai takes a step backwards, ready to unleash more magic at the monster if needed.
BTW, where the hell are we? Do I recognise the moon or stars? Knowledge (nature) 13+7=20, Knowledge (the planes) 15+10=25.
dungeonmaster heathy
ALTAI:
"Corpse eater?" he laughs, a frightening gibbering, his red tongue lolling in his mouth like a writhing eel. "Corpse eater? And do you sop no gravy with your bread? We ghouls know manymanymany things, so close to the edge between life and death. Many secrets get revealed there.
You and yours are a boon to me and mine, for you quest after the foolish Orcusites."
Altai Iscarni
dungeonmaster heathy
ALTAI:
"Orcus was like unto dead and came back. He thinks he has the secret to resurrection through death, he means to not just be a demon lord. No, oh no. He seeks to become the very God of Death. And our lord, Dorsain, the White King, Orcus has enslaved him. Orcus means for the entirety of Ghoulkind to be his vassals...through Dorsain. And that is why we bite, and tear, and gnash his servitors. And that is why we esteem thou and thine, Altai.
Altai Iscarni
dungeonmaster heathy
There's a 'caster who just popped a fireball; and 2 fighters, and 2 duskblades, and a fairy princess, tied to the 'caster by a dainty chain around her ankle. She looks forlorn and morose.
The caster is untouched.
The fighter deep in the room just got healed;
the fighter fighting Stiggy is almost dead.
The 2 duskblades; one is untouched, and one is deeper in the room being jacked up by a scorpion.
dungeonmaster heathy
Altai:
"Good Mage, Altai, I....I've been without an apellation for so long, I don't remember what it is. What day is it? Do you know?....
So what brings you to The Chateau D'Amberville?"
Elgan Dreadwood
Elgan leaps forward, calling upon nature even as he moves. With a pounce he places his hands on the back of his companion and a surge of healing energy is released with a gust of wind that smells like Pine.
Whoever is most wounded at this point gets a 3rd lvl spell swapped for a Cure serious wounds,...
Riese's Altered Form
Riese concentrates and drops a burst of flame on the fighter facing Stiggy. 2d6=4 damage. DC16 reflex for half.
dungeonmaster heathy
The hobgoblin wizard at a7 shoots Stiggy with a ray. Stiggy feels weak. His strength goes down 6 points.
The scorpion kills the duskblade at a9, and is killed by the fighter at b10.
The other duskblade moves to a7;
Stiggy can aoo him.
He shoots Stiggy, Bel and Gittik with a burning hands; 6 hp in damage; ref save 13 for half.
ROUND 5!!!
hey, this was a pretty long fight!
