Fake Healer

Bump...and also, I love Heathy's DM avatar. I feel like the whole campaign is being told by some wild-eyed hermit whittling a piece of wood on some dirty porch in the mountains to some young whipper-snappers. Very cool feel.

I definitely think the exophthalmic left eye gives everything he says a little more "oomph."
Altai Iscarni
The Kruelmeister is out sick. So...
Heathy:
"Ye talk too much, ye jobby git." Stig grabs his axe and throws himself at the barghest like a belligerent bearded butterball of doom.
I doubt Stig slept in his full plate, but let's say he wore the chainmail lining. Getting the shield is too many actions, so he just uses his axe two-handed. So: Stiggy charges the barghest, using a 4-point power attack. Attack roll 15+11+2(charge)-4(power attack)=AC 24. Damage 8+1(weapon enchantment)+6(Str)+8(power attack)=23 points of damage. His AC is for the rest of the turn is 13.
dungeonmaster heathy
Oww, f$#+!!! ;)
Stiggy wails on the Wolfthing, leaving a big, gaping wound in it's flank flaying muscle, exposing a grill of ribs, and the vascular lining of the thing's lung if lungs are indeed what it has.
Stiggy is mauled by the barghest for 9 h.p in damage.
Riese is attacked by ratthing 1, who moves to H12, and misses with a longsword.
Ratthing 2 stands to, and swings at Gittik, who is stabbed for 10 h.p. in damage.
Ratthing 3 moves up to L7, stabs Beldan for 8 h.p. in damage with a longsword.
C.E. throws handaxes down his tree, and Jody starts shooting arrows down his tree; the action of this is out of view for everybody, though K.C. exclaims, "how ya like a f*~@ing axe in your head, b~!+#!!!" with a manic glee, and Jody just fires arrow after arrow like some automaton.
Round 2!!!
Altai Iscarni
Stig's next attack:
No move, 2-point power attack. Attack roll 13+11-2=AC 22, damage 8+1+6+4=19. He now has AC 15.
I never quite realised what a hardass Stig actually is, even without Weapon Specialisation. I guess he fooled me with the fat drunk routine. :D
dungeonmaster heathy
(lol) I was going to have the barghest feign wounding unto unconsciousness, then turn invisible and knock somebody off the platform, but...
The viscious three-way attack from a kukri to the neck, a barrage of magic missiles to the back, and an axeblow to the skull drops the thing in it's tracks; it pumps warm steaming brimstone ichor out of its wounds in it's death throes.
Riese; Beldan; Elgan!
meanwhile....
C.E. "Jody! I hit this sumbich in th' head with a damn axe! He's still climbing!"
Jody "My arrows hardly phase this f#%@er either."
Riese
"Dammit, I can't keep slinging spells all day....only a couple left.....Caustural fletchina Morat!" 5' step back and cast Riese's Acid arrow at the critter before me. 1d20 6=22 ranged touch, 2d4=3 damage this round, 2d4=5 damage next round. Riese starts eyeing up the trees to his left and right, readying to face that challenge when it comes.
dungeonmaster heathy
The rathead bastard is hit by the arrowspell. He shrieks, and in goblin, "aaah! Burns me! Burns me!!!"
the acid effect bubbles and gobs of flesh drip off of him in rancid splapping chunks, he flails about scratching himself, and a cloud of flaky dander wafts into the air like a poison snowglobe.
I'm tweaking on this one.
Elgan Dreadwood
Sorry so long, see my post on discussion thread,...
Elgan finishes chanting, his final words carrying up in a cacophony of animal noises, which seem to swirl into a whirlwind of leaves and tree detritus. When the swirling refuse settles, there is a large, black-furred humanoid standing behind the remaining rat-critter. (Or the uninjured one if there is more than one!) The mighty simian drools, angry-eyed, as it looks for someone to take out it's anger upon.
With a roar, the great ape tears into the nasty rat-faced creature with wild abandon.
Summon Ape, Full attack,...(2 claws and a bite)
Ape's attacks: (1d20 7=18, 1d20 7=8, 1d20 5=6)
The ape rips into the critter with a roar, his first blow sending it skittering away from being injured by the rest of it's attacks!
As the ape begins his rampage upon the soon-to-be-sorry rat-critters, Elgan moves a step closer to Altai and Riese, and conjures forth a ball of flame in his open palm.
Create Flame, holding an action to throw it at the first rat-faced critter that sticks his head over the top!
dungeonmaster heathy
The ape pummels (rat #2) once, it harms the rat but not as bad as it should have been.
Beldan's blow doesn't even draw blood.
Rat 1 moves to h13, swinging at Riese, hits for 9 h.p in damage.
Rat 2 misses Gittik entirely.
Rat 3 misses Beldan.
C.E. throws another axe, and exclaims, "got you that time, you ratf*#~er!!!"
Jody keeps plinking arrows downward.
two more of the ratmen appear, at f15 and m15.
NEW ROUND!!! EVERYBODY'S GO!!!
Beldan Vale
btw I got confused, Beldan's rapier is not cold iron, just magical ... not that it makes much difference.
Beldan stares in horror at the rat-goblin. "The weapons ... they do nothing!" He feints towards the creature - then turns tail and runs, around between Stiggy and Gittik and scrambles up the body of the wolf-fiend, seeking higher ground.
Withdraw action (avoids aoos) to I11.
Riese
Get your hands off of me you damned, dirty rat! *concentrates for a moment while stepping 5' back...* Imbelia furtion de'flar!!! 5d6=12 damage, DC18 reflex for half.
Used last pearl of power to recall a Firebolt....then rolled crap for damage.
Altai Iscarni
No move. I'm using my Nexus Method feat to convert Alter self into Summon monster II. The super-scorp appears on my initiative next turn.
Is Kruelaid back yet? If not:
EDIT: If Riese's firebolt takes out Rat 1, he'll attack Rat 2 instead. If so, he ends up in J10 instead.
Gittik
....aaaah....put the shield down, and go at it with the bastard sword....
(Or get a buckler - you can attack 1 handed and you get the AC, or attack 2 handed, lose the AC but get the damage bonus. Thing is, with a buckler you can choose round by round since a MW buckler has no impact on your attack roll if you have one and a 2 handed weapon. So you can enjoy the flexibility of a bastard sword as a 2 hander or sword and board.)
(Is it my go yet?)
Elgan Dreadwood
Taking the delayed action,...
As soon as the rat-face appears over the top of the platform, Elgan hurls the ball of flame in his hand straight into it.
Elgan's Delayed Fire attack: (1d20 6=25, 1d6 5=7) TArgetted the one nearest me.
As the ball of flame re-appears in the elf's hand, the ape roars his fury at the puny creature that dares to still stand before it. Summoned Ape=Full attack on ratigan, claw/claw/bite
Ape full att: (1d20 7=22, 1d20 7=17, 1d20 5=7)
Ape's Dmg, if attacks hit: (1d6 5=8, 1d6 5=10, 1d6 2=3)
Watching the battle, the elf pulls out his slim, polished willow wand with his other hand.
"Er yeh alrigh'?!" He asks the casters over his shoulder as he tries to keep an eye on everyone at once.
Pull out wand of healing for emergency rescue. I think that's all I can do this round? Or did using my delayed action count for LAST round, so I get one more action?
dungeonmaster heathy
Yeah; delayed action was last round; so you got one more. The fire hurt him but did not destroy him.
The ape is working the other one, but it's still got some juice. The ape hit twice. The ratthing seems moderately resistant to physical harm.
Re Gittik: yeah; it's your attack; I'll prolly have to wait a few hours til I can post mine when you're done, but it's your attack.
Elgan Dreadwood
Right on! Thx!
Elgan's Produce flame att: (1d20 6=26, 1d6 5=11)
Without waiting for an answer to his inquiry, Elgan hurls another ball of fire at the ratman on his side of the platform,...
dungeonmaster heathy
Gittik's dagger drops the foe with a viscious slice that parts its flesh like butter.
The one Elgan burns still lives, but he is looking shabbily.
C.E. pulls more axes out of his clothes, moves next to Jody, and the two of them continue pummeling the one that is climbing up that tree (C.E. moves to space L4.)
Ratthing 3 moves to K8, slicing Gittik with it's long sword for 9 h.p. damage.
Ratthing 6 moves to h14, and stabs at Riese, missing the mage.
Wererat 7 strikes Elgan for 7 h.p. damage.
NEW ROUND! EVERYBODY'S ATTACK!!!
dungeonmaster heathy
Gittik sees the rat thing drop and turn back into a goblin, thinks fast (for him), drops his kukri and, drawing his silver dagger, plunges it into the rat-goblin beside him.
Attack ratman 2. Drop kukri, draw silver dagger, roll to hit = 12 + 11 = 23, damage = 3 + 2 = 5.
As it dies, it morphs into a goblin, staring at you the whole time...
Riese
Fine, rodent erectus, you have forced my hand. Manus de'flar repellin! 1d20 11=19 casting defensively Riese's Striking Fist. 1d20 8=22 to hit, 3d6=14 nonlethal damage Reflex DC18 for 1/2 damage and to avoid the follow-up bull rush. If the critter gets bullrushed my bonus vs. that is +7 you can roll it Heathy, IC is acting funny for me now... I wanted to use this on one of the ones climbing up to knock them off the platform but oh well...
A large fist of roiling fire forms and lunges at the ratman before Riese, slamming into the beast and vanishing in a forceful pop.
All I got left is a scorching ray now....
dungeonmaster heathy
He doesn't make his save, the roll is a 14. He takes the damage, and whatever the bullrush does; not sure where that spell is...the vicious creature takes a big forcefist right in the breadbasket; he's still fighting but the wind is knocked out of him...
(edit) you beat his bullrush roll by 6 points; ergo he's knocked back 5 feet to g14. I got the hang of this, man.

PHB2 spell Bigby's Forceful Fist, I had it memmed but never used it in the last few encounters because my 1st level spells are particularly nasty. Still wish I coulda knocked one of them suckers off the platform with it.
