"Heh heh..." Altai's face splits into a rather smug smile. "So if I said that she's a hideous gap-toothed goblin crone with a rather well-developed beard, you would probably think that I was the crazy one, right? Elgan - what about you? What did you think she looked like?"
Elgan nods. "Ah t'ink yeh jes' 'bout cover'd it. Cept fer deh moles. She did have long, bootiful hair doh'. Twas growin' out frum undah her arms!"
Elgan grins at Altai,... And will level asap, work and home crazy,... sorry!
Beldan Vale
“Riiight … right, yeah, I knew that.” It’s finally dawned on Beldan that for some reason what he saw was not what everyone else saw. “Ha. Yeah. You know, I was just, um, buttering her up, you know, getting her on our side. Flattery you know. I wasn’t really attracted to her, c’mon … right?”
He hurriedly changes the subject. “Anyway, that looks like the place, up ahead. Looks deserted … how should we approach this?”
dungeonmaster heathy
He looks within. The two giants are in there, throwing some kinda dice game on the ground. They're both wearing hats made out of crocodile heads. There's a biiiig cookpot, on an open flame.
There's 5 trees inside cut down and used as pillars for the wigwam.
The giants are at...IJ5/6 and LM8/9.
Fire and pot is at GH8/9. Pillars are at gh6/7(the intersection), kl6/7, IJ 8/9, gh10/11, and kl 10/11. All pillars are about 5 feet in diameter, at the intersections of all those blocks.
Altai Iscarni
OK - so we're in the general vicinity of T22 or so?
"So, here's a quick plan. We beat down the giants. Then, once the swampers show up to, um, distribute food, we attach ourselves to them and go back to their village with them. In doing so, we should be able to take Jag-Doom and his buddies by surprise. Hell, I like this plan."
"As for the giants, I'm itching to test-fire a new spell... I'll zap them with lightning; you guys will jump them once they come scrambling out of their tent."
Elgan Dreadwood
UPdated, at 1:30am. Do we get a Feat at lvl 5? If so, I'll take 'Natural Spell', if not, I'll wait, all else is good enough to go! Wait no longer for me!
Elgan's SPOT roll: (1d20 11=23)
Elgan whispers to the casters,...
"Alrigh' wit' me Altee. Ah've got a lil' spell fer 'em too. Ah kin call down lightning frum deh skah. An' ah kin keep callin' down a bolt 'bout once ever' 10 heartbeats. Dat'll keep 'em busy! An' ah kin take udder forms now too. Birds. Dey'll never see meh comin' fer 'em!" He grins an impish, er,... elvish, smile.
Elgan's pointed ears stand straight up. He points to the river.
"Dat is wun BIG crocodile, chere'!" He whispers hoarsely. "Whut IS it wit' all o' duh big-@$$ animals 'roun' heah?"

IIRC, feat at 6th lvl; not @ 5th lvl; I'll check at home. (no PHB with me).
Altai Iscarni
"Hmmmm... If we attack from the northwest, I can zap both with the same lightning bolt. Then, as they come running out the door, I can entangle both in a web - after that, with some luck, we'll be able to pick them off at our leisure. Perhaps Elgan could even entice the big croc to take an interest in the wrapped-up giants? How does that sound?"
Elgan Dreadwood
"Dat soun's purty good. But Ah wooden' count too much on he'p frum deh croc. Dey's purty much loaners. An' as big as he is, iz alwuys possible dat he's a pet. We should keep hidden frum him until we strike too. Ah'll try an' talk tah it if'n he comes closer, 'twould be a shame tah have tah kill a critter tha's lived so long, but we might have ta take him on as well." He replies, thin elvish brows furrowed in concern as he looks again at the size of the crocodile.
Altai Iscarni
"What the hell is going on in there? We might want to get into position - no matter what all the bellowing is about, I doubt they'll keep on playing their game for too much longer."
With that, Altai starts to carefully make his way around the huge tent.
No speakee Giantese, unfortunately. Move silently 13+3=16.
dungeonmaster heathy
The crocs are heavy bags of meat, and the derricks that hang them are standing well and good. They were driven deep into the wet sucking mud by mightier thews than yours. You could stand on them; it's balance beam wide, or you could climb up on them easy enough (climb 10) and perch on them sitting like a horse if you wanted to. They're about 10 feet tall, to accomodate the hanging crocodiles.
dungeonmaster heathy
It's also very nauseatingly rancid there. Big fat flies the size of bumblebees are all about. You feel a cruel sting, on the back of your neck. You swat and smash the viscious fly; you look at your hand and it's painted the entire palm with your blood which it tried to abscond with.
Riese's Altered Form
I hope I have this right....MAP
Riese casts alter self to look like a lizardfolk. He is in VW/22-23.
1d20 8=16 spot
"That is one big log there. Oh a Croc you say? Are you sure it isn't an alligator? There is a subtle difference you know...."
Beldan Vale
Map looks right to me Fakey. Thanks!
Beldan swats at the flies. Bugger this, he thinks. I don’t know if I’ll be able to keep my guts in, let alone balance up there with all these flies around.
He’ll creep back to P18 and hide behind the tree there.
Move Silently: 6+16 = 22. Hide: 10+11 = 21
He loads his crossbow.
Altai Iscarni
Atai carefully makes his way towards the bellowing bigguns. "I'm ready, everybody. Just wave, and they'll never know what hit them."
Move to R14. My Move silently result was 16, my Hide check is 12+3=15. I still have [i]Mage armour[i] running from our chat with the barghest, right?

That's perfect, Fakey!
Altai; yes, the mage armor is still in effect.
Gittik
Gittik moves over towards Beldan's position, but then trips on a root under the water and curses loudly in Goblin. He then splashes over to Belden and forgets to actually conceal himself, still annoyed about his fall.
Failed the Spot check. Hide = 1 + 10 = 11. Move Silently = 2 + 10 = 12. Put me in M19.
Elgan Dreadwood
See above posts, Elgan's good to go! :)
The wood elf closes his eyes and shakes his head with a small sigh at Gittik's antics. Noting the crocodile submerge, he purses his lips in a small frown.
"It a wundah dat deh fores' hadn' et yah all yet." HE murmurs with a smirk. He narrows his eyes in concentration, and shimmers in a familiar way. Instead of the familiar hunting cat, there is now a smaller (but still large!) predatory bird, looking like a giant hawk. With a wink, the avian/druid launches into the air. He climbs, circles the tent twice, then dives and with a swoop lands in a tree. Those who kept track of him see him shimmer once more into an elf, pull out his bow, and take ahold of his wooden amulet.
Yay shifter class! 5th level gives me Avian form! landed in the tree at G21. Bow is out and ready to cast 'Call Lightning' as soon as I hear Altai's spell go off. That will let me cast one lighting bolt a round for as long as the spell lasts! (I think calling the bolts is a move or minor action? I'll go look.)
Elgan's HIDE roll in the tree: (1d20 2=19)
Oh Yeah! I'm a lightning/arrow sniper now!
And YES! MAP=LIFESAVER=THANK YOU! ;)
dungeonmaster heathy
sweet....
Gittik gave up the gig....
with a bellowing start, the giants are up in their tent.
goblin:
Initiative. If you guys beat a 10, it's your go.
Also, Altai can pop his shockergun, so if you want to be in the way of that, it can be retconned that he popped it off before you ran up or whatnot. They stood, unlimbered goblinsquashing accoutrements, but didn't move yet.
Altai Iscarni
Group intiative 11. Phew!
With a excited grin, Altai unleashes the lightning bolt.
I just let it rip NW from where I stand. AS it is 10' wide, it hits the tent at the M10/N9 area and exits at H5/I4 or so. More importantly, it hits both giants, who gets to soak up 22 poits of electrical damage. After the blast, I move to N17.
Elgan Dreadwood
At the sound of the giants bellowing, Elgan hastily begins his own enchantment, whispering in what sounds like thunderclouds having an argument. With the charm finished, a small thundercloud forms over the general area of the tent,...
Cast SUmmon Lightning, can now call down a single lightning bolt each round for as long as the spell lasts, which is pretty long! As SOOn as the giants pop their heads out of the tent, they get hit with a lightning bolt and an arrow!
