Standings after this obstacle:
Obstacle 6 : The Home Stretch

There it is! The God's Revel Inn is just ahead, a final sprint down the road, up a ramp, into the front doors, and onto the second floor of the building where the finish line (or finish table?) was waiting. Of course, due to Rum Punch, the front porch, ramp, and Inn were packed full of drunken revelers. A minor hindrance after the rest of the race!

Dodge The Drunks! DC 12 Acrobatics:

Avoiding the people blocking the road was becoming second nature by this point. With a few twists, a turn and a half, and a jumping spin, you navigate around the mess and through into the God's Revel.

Scramble up the Side! DC 14 Climb:

Trying to push past the people on the ramp was a waste of time. The side didn't look that hard to scale - it was only a dozen feet, at the most, from bottom to top. With a running leap, you grab the side of the ramp and haul yourself up, bypassing most of the roadblock. The entrance to the Inn was mere feet away!

Window! DC 11 Dexterity:

The door was blocked... but the windows were wide open! It would take catlike reflexes to bound up there and bend through the opening with just the right motions - but how hard could that be? With a leap, a twist, and a worming motion or two, you squirm your way through the window and into the God's Revel! The table was just up the stairs, and victory was yours!

Round 5

Nostrils flaring and red eyes menacing, Reijo bounds full-speed ahead towards the inn. One can almost see steam escaping his ears as he sprints, as if a coal-powered furnace were bellowing energy into his powerfully agile limbs.

Reijo dodges and evades every drunken reveler in his path. Spotting one unfortunate and bent-over drunk in his way, he leaps onto his back, using him as a stepping stone to bypass the rest of the crowd by flying high up the side of the ramp! Drawing his boarding axe as he flies, he latches onto the wooden ramp's peak with the hook end, and swiftly flings his limber body upwards and over like a monkey swinging through a tree.

Landing on his feet near the inn's entrance, Reijo now hurriedly breaks for the inn itself...

I thought the same thing at first, but I think the climb challenge is for climbing the side of a big, 12 ft. tall ramp or walkway leading up to the inn's entrance, rather than for climbing the side of the inn itself. Methinks climbing the side of the inn may be in obstacle #7. :)

As it turns out, there is no obstacle 7 - the end of the race is upon you! Reijo and Vik are tied for victory!

Reijo and Viktorra burst through into the God's Revel shoulder-to-shoulder, pushing at each other to get ahead into the leading position in the race. Suny follows on their coattails, having lugged a plank across Lilywhite with her. The mighty plank, despite his aid, is left just before the finish line as Suny bounds up the stairs with Reijo and Vik.

Just behind them, Nhati comes racing into the building, Tai flapping his hardest to keep up.

And behind her, the two handicapped racers - Bellamy and Ol' Salty. The blind man and the old man gave the race their hardest - and, to their credit, bested a good two thirds of the other racers! If only the darn youngin's weren't so quick...

"Hold it right there," bellows a large and scarred human. A pair of half-orc men stand beside him, and a curmudgeonly little halfling cracks her knuckles beside him. The four of them have managed to completely barricade the top of the God's Revel's stairs with their bodies. Behind them, a beleaguered looking half-orc woman sitting at the far table shrugs, then takes a long sip of ale.

"Yeah!" shouts the short one, "We're going to be the ones taking the officer's shares on Lanteri's crew!"

"Any anyone who's plannin' ta tell Lanteri otherwise is in for a fight," growls the human.

The group turns on Suny, then glances back over to the half-orc woman seated across the balcony.

"Signing?? Youse said we could have that spot!" bellow the scarred-up human. The pair of half-orcs beside him grunt assent.

"Yeah, yeah," replies the woman with a nonchalant wave of her hand. "Don't matter to me which one of you 'wins' the race, yeah? Go settle it somewhere and let me finish my drink."

The halfling spits on the floor, just inches from Nhati's feet. "You 'eard her. Shall we settle this proper-like? The God's Revel has a ring for just this sorta thing!"

"Aye," the human adds, "A ring I'm the boss'a. Dare ya challenge the local champions?"

@Reijo - correct. These guys might be jerks, but they're courteous jerks! No more crazed drunken brawls here!

Minutes pass as the two 'crews' arrange themselves at opposite ends of the God's Revel ring. Though perhaps never meant to hold quite as many people as it was right now, it was still a good fifty feet across and depressed into the floor just enough to keep the truly messy bits out of the onlooker's lunches.

Onlookers who had been piling in by the masses for the past few minutes. Words that Heavy Huldren (the reigning champion!) would be taking on a few of Rum Punch's finest revelers was drawing festival goers in by the bucketful. The God's Revel was mostly standing room only, though the balcony was left mostly uninhabited. Probably because Captain Lanteri had arrived and scared the rest of them away with a single stare.

"Alrights," calls the half-orc woman from Lanteri's side. "Folla' the rules as much as ya care. No killin' er whatever. 'N whichever'a ya comes out conscious is winning the spot, aye? For all y'all. Gonna regret that one..."

Lanteri offers a boisterous laugh in response. "Hah, Yamtisy! This is even better than a race for finding our crew! Whenever you're ready, have at it!"

Suny skips along happily with all her new found 'Crew'. (^_^)

In the 'ring, she looks around at everything inquisitively, still smiling happily at the folks arraigning themselves on the other side of the sand.

Perception:1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24

Even smiling and waving up at the captain standing on the balcony above. (^_^)

Once the 'Show starts', she looks across at whom ever is squaring off against herself and simply skips towards them.

"Hey-YA there!"

Being 'Defensive' at tha' moment. Still workin' out who's doin' what ta' whome... >_>

The pair of half-orcs step forward to greet Suny, one clenching his fist while the other brandishing a heavy looking club that has already been stained a rusty brown across its head.

"Shaddup elfie," growls the unarmed one as he dashes forward to meet her, his fist flying for her jaw. "Yeah, da treasure's going to Huldren!" The other follows just behind, bringing the club in low to try and knock Suny's knees out. The quick elf ducks backward and practically does a backflip as she nimbly evades the two clumsy attacks. The orcs growl their discontent.

Giggling and bouncing on her toes Suny replies brightly, "Which one of ye be Huldren?" Looking from one Half-Orc to the other.

Staying defensive and trying to think of something given it's two on one. :P

Round 1

Reijo sizes up the other crew with a scowl. Seeing blades come dangerously close to Blindey, the sailor figures all bets are off as far as the "no killing" rule goes... and he grins a most fearsome grin.

Looking at Huldren, he moves in, drawing his axe and cutlass, twirling them as he goes. As the big man is about to make his move, Reijo ensures he is in place to interfere... by blowing hot ash from his lit pipe directly into the big man's eyes!

"Now yer crew be havin' a 'Blindey' ov yer own!" he snarls in his gravelly voice as he cough-chuckles at Huldren's suffering.

Temporarily blind Huldren for 1 round plus 1 additional round per 5 Reijo's result beats his flat-footed CMD (+2 feat, no AoO):

Round 1_____

No-Eyes squawked as he dodged back from the thrown blade.
"Well now, so that's how it's gonna be, scrub? Well then. Let me tell ye a story..."
He fires a Color Spray at the two guys in front of him. Will save DC14

Nhati sighs. "Another brawl," she says. "I suppose it's a sacrement for the Drunken Hero, but, still...."

Tai the the parrot flies back and stays well clear of the fight.

She sees Bellmany fire off a Color Spray and nods appreciatively. That's one of her favorite tricks. Thinking of defense, however, she casts a Mage Armor spell on herself, hoping that this will keep her in the fight longer.

As Bellamy unleashes a burst of color across the faces of the two half-orcs, one of them shields his eyes and avoids the brunt of the attack. The other takes a face-full of magic, his eyes glazing over as he stands stunned and confused.

One of the half-orcs is stunned for a round.

"I'm Huldren, lass," grunts the human as he steps forward, pounding the mace in his hand against his blistered palm. He raises his weapon as Reijo darts in closer and fills his face with burning ash. Huldren shoots an expletive at Reijo as he frantically pats at his eyes, swinging his mace blindly to get the pirate away from him. Unable to see, he stumbles forward and ends up prone at Reijo's feet. The crowd erupts into shouts of encouragement and hisses of foul play.
Huldren is blinded and prone! Sadly, Reijo was just short of getting an extra round of blind...

End of Round 1 and start of the next. Still missing Vik's action for R1.
Ini Order: Bellamy, Salty and the halfling, Suny, Nhati, the Half-Orc Twins, Vik, Reijo, and then Huldren.

As Reijo floors Huldren and blinds him, Ol' Salty chuckled. That's the kind of move that he would have pulled off back in his youth. He decided to give Huldren a little taste of magic while he was on the ground, just in case he got a lucky swing on the young buccaneer.

As he prepared a new spell, he looked down to Lil' Fisher.

Aquan:

"He ya go Lil' Fisher. Give this to the one kissing the floor eh?"

With a blackened hand, Ol' Salty patted Lil' Fisher on the head.

Lil' Fisher trots across the floor and delivers a cold, debilitating touch to Huldren. The man twists and turns as the otter approaches, as though ready to lash out, but seems otherwise unaffected by the magic.

"So Blindey and Oldey are fulla tricks, eh?" The halfling laughs, then dashes along the side of the ring as she draws another dagger and sends it flying towards Ol' Salty. "Ain't no room for that in a real fight!" The blade sinks deep into Ol Salty's leg, sticking in hard.

Salty takes 6 points of damage!
