Wren.

Knowing that the bad creature could return at any moment, Wren stays out of the room and out of sight. He will let the brute squad handle the sapping tree.
”You guys got this. Also, there is a chance that that other one will come back at any moment. Be ready,” Wren shouts.

With one Roper stuck in Wren's maze and the other killed the group stands shakily on their feet, but for how long and when is the second Sigil Crag set to return? Farin finally jolts free of his stunned stupor at the chaos about the room as he nearly falls unconscious.
Sitting in the room the Sigil Crag's looked to be protecting two massive black chests. The chests bear a symbol of a skull with chained manacles hanging from its eye sockets. This symbol is easily recognized as the emblem of Nidal.

Wren spins to where he can see, but staying far away from the spot where the other roper was mazed.
”To be clear, that other one will be coming back...and there is no telling when. It might be...NOW!...” Wren snaps his fingers and points at the spot as if commanding the creature to reappear and waits several seconds before shrugging his shoulders. ”Oh well, at any point it might return, and it will be pissed. Get ready for it.”
Wren looks at Farin, then Alysendra.
”Yaktender? AlleyCatBra? You hear me? You’re in danger in there. Be careful.”

Touching Aggrimosh, he activates it’s enlargement powers. ”Everyone out. I’ll smash it at pieces.”

After what just happened to him, Farin is only too happy to comply. "I am not sure what just happened, but I am in no hurry to repeat it." With that, Farin steps outside.

The group steps outside the room, though they aren't sure it is far enough away from hose deadly Ropers' reach. Taking out Aggrimosh and begins smashing into the stone block to break it apart.
Little by little the stone cracks and breaks apart. Kraygan sets to moving some of the rubble aside so he can see behind it. Just on the other side of the loose stone is a giant sized wooden casket.
What do you do? You now have a giant wooden casket as well as a pair of giant black chests.
Wren.
|
Wren stays well out of reach, continuing to keep his distance as he knows the creature could return at any moment.
"Bring it out here, KrayKeg," Wren bids. "Bring it all out here and we'll try to seal this room off with the debris or a wall or close the door."
Wren hopes the dwarf doesn't take too long in the task.
| Alysendra |
Sorry folks - RL crisis, now completed.
Alysendra shakes her head at the strange creatures that the Storm Tyrant has managed to collect to his side. "What else will we find, I wonder?" she mutters to no one in particular. She examines those wounded by the tentacled horrors, and breaks out her stock of scrolls of lesser restoration. She casts heal on Farin to remove his ability damage, and uses both scrolls or Jorgan. lesser resto: 1d4 ⇒ 4 lesser resto: 1d4 ⇒ 4

Kraygan tries to drag the chests and casket out of the room and away from danger. Once done, he’ll close the door and try to jam it shut with some mundane daggers or climbing spikes.

Kraygan grabs ahold of the chests and casket one at a time and quickly begins to shove and drag the out of the room as quickly as possible. one would almost think they were filled with an exotic alcohol. Just as he does the roper snaps back into view and the sticky tendrils leap out at the dwarf. Slamming the door shut the ropes all smash against the opposite side and begin splintering the wooded door.
Short of breath and dripping sweat Kraygan begins jamming the door shut as best as he can.

Sensing no magic or traps on the chests or the coffin Wren sets to opening them one at a time. Both of the black chests are completely empty. These chests originally contained payment to Volstus, which has already been distributed among the Storm Tyrant’s minions in the Mindspin Mountains.
| Kraygan Steelkeg |
”Well I missed th’ secret wall where this thing were hidden.” Kraygan taps the coffin. ”If’n everyone’s ready, lesee who’s inside, eh?”
Kraygan pulls himself up on Haggis and moves back a couple dozen feet and readies his lance for a giant vampire.
”Ok, pop it!” He gives a gleaming metal gauntlet thumbs up.

Farin slides to the back of the group, not all that interested in dealing with an animated dead giant. Getting his bow out, he mutters, "OK, open it."

Farin in deed finds them to be completely empty and devoid of any secret compartments. This was a deadly dead end. No secret door, it was just a compartment holding that third casket, which was also empty. :)

High walls surround this courtyard, decorated with bas-reliefs of creeping, crystalline plants on the stonework. A monumental stairway in the southeast corner leads to the battlements that run along the top of the walls.
This ceremonial courtyard, paved with immense flagstones, is now deserted and unremarkable. The staircase leads up to the battlements atop the 60-foot-high walls.
| Kraygan Steelkeg |
Kraygan looks up, his beard bristling. ”Great place fer dragons n’ stuff ter get us. Who kin protect us from fire?”
Can we get a fire protection or resistance going?
After a response, he taps Haggis with a heel, rides across the courtyard to the far doors, and kicks them open.
Is the courtyard open all the way up to the sky? Can we uncover some upper levels of the map here?

This large, semicircular platform is paved with marble tiles, its edge rising slightly over the mist that envelops the base of the castle. To the east, ornate columns on the castle’s battlements overlook the platform.
Farin looks around for any sign of enemies as the doors groan open. Looking up he watches as a pair of stained glass windows vanish high up on the third floor and booming voices of a pair of cloud giants sound. "Down there! Kraygan considers waiting for whoever the giants might be sending, but doesn’t have that much patience.
Looking down at the short legged halfling, Kraygan extends a hand to pull him up for a ride. ”Let’s go n’ meet ‘em Farin.” Nudging the yak forward, they trot back across the courtyard and begin ascending the stairs.
Since Kraygan and Farin go first I adjusted Wren’s cloud for our movement.

Yea, I have been trying to figure out a better way for these maps but they are just so huge at 15 foot squares and six levels all interconnected.
You always have Renfal the ghost cloud giant you can converse with as well if you have any questions. Just takes a diplomacy check to coax him out of Spirit momentarily.
Wren spots the giants up on the third floor. You are currently on the first. They seem to have lifted a pair of the same stained glass windows that Jorgan crashed through a few days ago and sent him to another plane dressed as a statue.
Kraygan grabs ahold of Farin and heads towards the stairs. Not wanting to split off Jorgan follows behind, urging Spirit onward towards the stairs as well.
Wren lays down a cloud of fog in the area angled up the stairs to help provide coverage.
The cloud giants take aim below. "Aim for the beasts to slow them down."
