Kraygan looks at the webs in confusion. ”Seems odd ter me that they’d leave this spot ter spiders. Is thar a dragon that spins webs?”
Taking out one of his arrows, he taps a nearby web strand to see how strong and sticky they are.

Didn't know it was special... thought it was just a bow.
Farin pulls out his own bow and looks for signs of trouble.

Kraygan pokes at the strands of webbing. The taut and sticky strands split apart as his sharp blade cuts through them easily. The webs shift ever so slightly.
Wren draws Firestorm and looks around, spotting the same strange black orb that Farin did just a few seconds prior. Though as Kraygan pokes the webs you begin to hear the sounds of claws scraping the tiles on the roof just above you. Something large has landed and drags across them.

Confusion is Kraygan's natural state when he begins sobering up. Ignoring the noises on the roof Wren fires another couple of arrows into the webs. The flames wick away at the strands and quickly ignites them as it starts to spread.
The claws scraping across the roof quickly reveal themselves as the largest dragon you have ever seen leaps down from the roof. It's crimson wings sound like a thunderclap with each beat. Riding atop it's back is a towering muscular giant of heroic proportions with bronze skin, dark hair, and sparkling green eyes. Lightning crackles from his eyes as he holds a swirling orb on one hand and a falcata resting in a sheathe to his side. Mounted onto his saddle is a second sphere that swirls with crimson flames and smoke. The orb in his hands looks like a storm cloud brews within.
"Little ones." The voices sneers as he looks down upon you. His voice cracks the air as lightning blasts out behind him, striking the invisible barrier. "You should bow before the Storm Tyrant. Kneel..." His voice drags out as the air itself rumbles. The dragon at his side nearly deafens you as it roars. The air itself ripples as the heat from its maw escapes.

Wren knows this gargantuan old red dragon to be Akazerath. It's harder scales are more resilient and able to deflect all but magical weapons. DR/Magic With great age comes even greater spell resistance as well as cold and electricity resistances. As with most red dragons of this age and wisdom this one is no different. Akazerath is able to breath a 60 foot cone of flames as well as manipulate the flames themselves to his will and bidding.
When it comes to Volstus, the Storm Tyrant Wren knows surprisingly little. Kraygan begins to babble incoherently and Wren is equally confused what could have caused it. Literally missed it by 1.

"Well, I guess this is what we came for..." Kinda hoped we might gain a level first! oops... we might be in trouble here.
Farin considers what he can do to help Kraygan, and comes up with nothing. So he pulls out a scroll of haste, and tries to cast it.

Sorry! I'm here.
"Oh boy. I guess this is it." Jorgan mutters as he whispers words of power into his ram's ears. Spirit begins levitating above the ground and his hooves take on a cloudy appearance. Spirit flies into the middle of the room after Farin.

Jorgan grabs ahold of Spirit as the ram begins to fly into the air of its own accord. Spirit's back end trails away into a vortex of wind and smoke, though most call it farting.
Farin grabs a scroll, barely deciphering the words of the arcane language as he nearly has a mishap. The scroll burns in his hands as the spell releases.
Kraygan watches a cat play with a large, oversized ball of string in the middle of the room. Or is it just a man that can't stop saying Cats?
Alysendra summons her friend and protects those around her from fire. You should be able to get all but Farin as he was in the middle of the chamber.
Penthae begins to sing as Alysendra turns invisible. Wren continues to wait.
This gives further time for Akazerath to cast a spell of his own. Both the dragon and Volstus speed up. Volstus concentrates on his orb as the storm builds in intensity within the compacted room. Small pockets of rain begin to drop, though not enough to quench the flames from Wren's arrows. Lightning crackles in the cloud and Wren fears it may very soon begin arcing to the ground.
Volstus sneers at Wren. "Fear stays your hands elf. As it should." The thunder of his voice causes the walls themselves to quake.

Wren watches as the storm begins to build in intensity. It seems to be a magical storm coming from the orb. An almost slower building Storm of Vengeance spell. From what Wren can tell the Storm Tyrant seems to be slowing it down to toy with you as he seems more amused at a slower death. You just barely got it with that roll of 29. Each struggling movement seems to make it worse as Spirit suddenly disappears completely, leaving the web empty and Jorgan standing dumbfounded by himself in front of a massive Dragon and Storm Tyrant.
Jorgan stabs out with Heartspit, though the fall from Spirit disappearing causes the dwarf to stumble in place.
The rest of the group quickly realizes why Akazerath had not covered the room in flames nor why Volstus advanced but rather stayed at a distance with his storm. The magical webs that Farin saw upon entering released their magic as Spirit became entangled.
Your character would not know this but I am going to keep the information going so you are aware as the player. Spirit is now on the first slide at the bottom right.
This dark room appears to have been almost completely sealed shut for some time. The stale air smells heavily of wine and manure, and the floor is littered with the wreckage, splinters, and shards of numerous destroyed wooden barrels and glass demijohns.
This chamber in the bottom of the castle’s observatory tower was used as a wine cellar before the fire giants of Ashpeak pillaged it. Like the corridor leading into the room, the windows here have been walled shut.
