The seawater has ruined much of the corpse's gear, but a corroded rapier bejeweled with precious stones still hangs sheathed at his side, he still wears an amber ring on a bony finger, and a platinum-plated compass hangs around his neck. A close examination of the corpse reveals that it has both legs, an indication that this is not whom you seek.

You arrive on the main deck. Bones and partial humanoid skeletons litter this deck. Unusual, pallid crustaceans cling to the ship’s timbers near the gaping hole outside. This deck once held rows of ballistae, several of which form a broken pile of debris at the aft end of the deck, partially blocking the doors there. The cargo hatch down to the hold is askew.
| Dantes Goldforge |
As the other two go to the hold, Dantes eyes the skeletal remains warily. Dantes knows how deep his greed runs; if any of these souls had greed nearly as vibrant, they might still be guarding whatever treasure lies inside.

Dantes, the skeletons look to be the non-animated type. In any case, they make no moves as you get close. However, you do spot trouble. Attached to the ceiling forward of the mizzenmast is what appears to be a clump of seaweed or kelp. But to your trained eye, it is actually a darkforest anemone, a scavenger of the deep! You are able to warn your companions before the thing starts to move!
Dantes and Chumtooth may act!

The party makes short work of the anemone, leaving only a mangled tumble of weed and barnacles behind. Nearby, among the remains of the unfortunate crew members, you find coinage and assorted jewelry to the value of 327 gp. Looking down into the cargo hold, broken timber and smashed boxes litter the floor. Clusters of barnacles and slimy marine growths infest the walls and other exposed surfaces.
Combat over!
| Chumtooth |
Chumtooth directs the others to retrieve the coins and jewelry. In the meantime, he draws his kukri and uses it to harvest some of the anemone’s spines.
Once secured, he directs a final search of the rest of the wreck.

Dantes will make use of detect magic to make sure nothing of particular value is missed. And while he does go about collecting valuables as instructed by his captain, he pauses occasionally to check for loose boards and such that might hide additional treasures.

Dante casts glitterdust, illuminating the creature in sparkling lights. Despite this, Chumtooth's harpoon misses the target, gliding past it. The creature does not seem affected by Dantes' spell. Faengrim, meanwhile, turns on his captain and stabs at him with the trident, hitting him in the midsection! (Chumtooth takes 15 points of damage!)

Apologies around. My wife had a doctor's appointment down in Tampa, and since Tampa is only an hour from Orlando, we decided to take a few days off at Walt Disney World! This is the first chance I've had to post since last Sunday.
I was waiting on Faengrim to take an action, but I'll go ahead and move things along.
Faengrim stabs at his captain again, managing to connect with a scratch. (Chumtooth takes 4 points of damage.) Dantes spell reveals nothing.

Sorry. I didn't realize it was my action. Should I go again?
And I'm glad you had a good time with your family. Even more important this year than ever before.

Sorry again, guys. Been away from the boards this week. Blame it on the Foundry VTT. I just acquired it and have been setting up my tabletop campaigns. I've been focused on that to the near exclusion of everything else because I have five campaigns to set up.
Yes, the enlarge person is active.
Chumtooth manages to restrain Faengrim long enough to slip the shackles onto his wrists. During the struggle, Faengrim manages to hit Chumtooth again, inflicting minor damage. Chumtopoth takes 10 points of damage.
The tentacled thing in the corner merely sits quietly, perhaps smiling in some alien fashion at the chaos.

The magic missiles impact with the creature seemingly harmlessly, but Dantes sees it for what it is. To the dwarf's eyes, the aboleth becomes transparent and ethereal; an illusion!

"Damnation! Who is doing this?!?" Dantes will use his move action to swim towards the wreck. If the caster isn't hiding magically, perhaps he/she/it is using mundane concealment.
