Yup- now would be a good time for boons. One suggestion is if you have the AbadarCorp Respect Boon, from Fugitive on the Red Planet to slot that.

Interesting. Those rules are a bit poorly worded and can be taken both ways. Though here is the official word / unofficial FAQ from Thurston.

I'm assuming that personal upgrades would be eligible for the augmentation discount boon, since they're a type of augment. Is there any reason that wouldn't be true?

Correct the Personal upgrades are Augmentations and count towards that.
