The one by the X on the tactical map. It's to the upper-right of our current position. Basically, he's joining the fray of mites and humans fighting the derros.

CHARGE!!!!!! Forth unto the breach, my friends!!!! lol.. Yes, I am moving to the right as we are looking at the map, simply taking the fight to them and hoping to capitalize on the mayhem from the slaves rising up with us.

The final derro is cut down. The riot proves very effective as several more prisoners and mites are killed in the process but the derro forces are essentially removed.

Senach discovers two letters on one of the derro corpses. The first confirms that the Aspis Consortium agent Kafar funded the smugglers who in turn supplied the cult. The second letter details plans to penetrate other Cassomir buildings (such as the Admiralty Citadel and Harbor Watch) and perform additional mass abductions in the near future.

The surviving Swift inmates and guards stand dazed in the grotto. The stone table in northern alcove is a shrine to Groetus (hardness 10, 30 hit points). The pool is filled with dozens of corpses of prisoners, guards, mites, and a variety of recently kidnapped Cassomir citizens.

DC 10 Knowledge religion:
Should they not be removed from the pool and destroyed (such as by fire or acid), they will eventually rise as ghouls and plague the city of Cassomir.

”We’ll need to burn the bodies,” says Vulpina, ”or remind the Society to do so, but I’d rather we do it here and now. They will rise as ghouls if we do not.”. She takes the time to clean her pistol and reload it.

Vulpina’s blade is swift, and before Mardak can get into the water, the flat is pressing against the half-orc’s front. ”Wait. Is it safe to get into the water? I thought I saw it killing those who entered—though I may be wrong.” She misses the summoner and his beetles for a moment—unnecessarily flashy though it was, it would be handy to have something to sacrifice if need be.

The beetles, of course. Not the sorcerer.

Maybe the bard.

As the last of the derros falls, Senach catches his breath for a moment before moving over to the alter and pool with the rest of his companions. He keeps his eye on the mites, but tries to chuffle the surviving humans into a group so that they could be examined and treated for wounds.
"Oi! Everyone over here! Rest up, we will bind your wounds and get you out as soon as we can! Erastil be praised, we survived the hunt and were able to track you! Come on now.. Everyone over here.. Just relax for a moment and we will get to you as soon as we are sure that everything is safe!"
Finally getting some order to the released prisoners and guards, he steps away towards his companions.

"You're right, Lady Vulpina. We need to get these out of there somehow.. but first, let me take care of this.."
Senach strides over to the alter, calling out to Marduk. "Before we get anywhere near that, we should destroy this alter.. This was some sort of ritual, so the alter would be the focus point! Help me break this apart, then we can see to getting the bodies out and taking care of them before they rise."

Once the alter has been destroyed, Senach takes the larger chunks and begins tossing them to different parts of the cavern, dispersing the remnants as best as he can. Finished at last, he wipes the sweat from his forehead and rejoins Phoebee and LV. "What do you think? Any magic or anything? Any changes?"

It takes some time but the altar is slowly destroyed. Along with the numerous bodies filling the vile pool that was transforming the prisoners.

With the derros defeated, you thwart the dark experimentations fated for most of the Swift’s inhabitants and employees, and uncover plans for additional mass abductions. This time, the authorities quickly plant guards and traps to spoil the derros’ advances. Soon the subterranean dwellers abandon their organized abductions in Cassomir—at least for a while.

The rescued Swift guards assist you in ushering the prisoners back up to Swift Prison. Once there, a member of the Cassomir constabulary asks you what they might know about the stolen chapel bell. He hands Senach a parchment and explains that a fellow constable found the note nailed to the front door of the Greedy Narses.

Note is in maps.

That is the end. Congratulations on surviving! I will have chronicles posted soon.

So, I am genuinely confused.. was breaking the alter really the final part of this?? Or was it just taking care of the bodies and wrapping things up?

Senach breaths a sigh of relief once all of the clean up is finished. The bodies have been taken care of, the alter sabotaged, and the victims had all been looked after and patched up as best as they could have been. He leads the way to the surface and takes a look around at aftereffects of the battles and the rubble left behind. "Well, we certainly make a statement wherever we go, don't we?!" he quips with a relieved smile. He turns and begins helping the guards to reestablish order, getting the prisoners sorted out for their cells or for the infirmary as needed.

He is genuinely surprised when the constable approaches and asks about the bell. Senach takes the note with a puzzled look. As he quickly scans it, his reptilian face darkens and his muscles tighten. Swearing, he hands the letter over to his companions to read. "Damn! Was there anything we could have done to prevent this?!" His eyes search each of his companions before he returns his gaze to the constable. "I assure you, sir, that we had nothing to do with this. Our concerns were the kidnappers and their victims.. and we certainly couldn't have made off with a bell of all things."

Yea since this was written so long ago there are a bit of inconsistencies between the scenarios that I feel don't explain a whole lot until the very very end note. Killing the trio of derros was the final part of this.. I just left it open a small bit for some RP. The Aspis funded all of this.

After having read the letter, Vulpina can only smirk and hand it immediately to Kazu, who she seems to recall was ready to tear Nefti limb from limb at first sight.

Sorry MIA for a while. Some personal things got a bit overwhelming over the weekend.

Kazu looks in quiet satisfaction at the freed prisoners, pleased that the harrowing tasks that started with a raid at a tavern led to the freedom of these mites and humans. It was a long journey, but a fruitful one. Especially in the the company of worthy companions, as he glances in turn at the group that he is now please to call friends.

His unusually good mood is broken when Vulpina hands him the note though. He glances through it quickly, but his only response was a loud sniff. If you stood really near though, you could have heard him mutter, "I told you so..."
