Post character PFS information here for reporting.
Orrin Ryota
|
Player: Saving Cap'n Crunch
PFS #: 150618-8
Day Job: Craft (Alchemy), Crafter's Fortune: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (11) + 15 = 26
One thing I'd like confirmation on: Does the Inner Beauty religion trait (Shelyn, Inner Sea Gods) allow you to gain the bonus on Day Job checks? The past two GMs I've played Orrin under said yes, but just in case.
Also, so it is known, Orrin starts doing some net shenanigans at this level, and has already been doing grapple ones. Now that he has his fighter level he may actually be useful, he's an experiment.

GM, How would you like me to handle Opportune Parry and Riposte?
Opportune Parry and Riposte (Ex): At 1st level, when an opponent makes a melee attack against the swashbuckler, she can spend 1 panache point and expend a use of an attack of opportunity to attempt to parry that attack. The swashbuckler makes an attack roll as if she were making an attack of opportunity; for each size category the attacking creature is larger than the swashbuckler, the swashbuckler takes a –2 penalty on this roll. If her result is greater than the attacking creature’s result, the creature’s attack automatically misses. The swashbuckler must declare the use of this ability after the creature’s attack is announced, but before its attack roll is made. Upon performing a successful parry and if she has at least 1 panache point, the swashbuckler can as an immediate action make an attack against the creature whose attack she parried, provided that creature is within her reach. This deed’s cost cannot be reduced by any ability or effect that reduces the number of panache points a deed costs.
What would be easy to handle face-to-face can be much harder in PBP. It's not fair to ask you to stop every time an NPC attacks my character and ask whether I'd like to attempt to parry and riposte. On the other hand, it's one of the chief features of my class.
I suggest that you do pause to ask when a new enemy makes itself known, but that otherwise you require that I state in advance the conditions under which I'd want to attempt it. For instance, at the start of a fight, if the bad guys are about to attack, you could ask me before attacking. But after round 1, it's up to me to state whether I will or not before your turn is up. Fair?

Yes, That will count towards Day Job Roll.
GM, How would you like me to handle Opportune Parry and Riposte?
Main way I have seen this done is post a spoiler block each time with circumstances you want it used containing the rolls. Just keep in mind that The Parry also requires an AoO which limits it along with the panache.
We will work out otherwise when a new enemy shows up and has init before you.

APL puts us at 2.6666 which rounded to nearest whole number would place us in Sub-Tier 3-4 range.

PFS Number: 133512-12

Day Job: Slight of Hand +12, +2*: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (19) + 14 = 33 (*Thieves' Guild offers +2 to steal things and use for day jobs/included in roll)

Absolute BLAST! No pun intended, but then again, there it is anyway. ;)

Barrakhan, remember you can only do 1 Parry per round with 1 AoO. And even with Combat Reflexes, you can only Riposte once per round as it takes an immediate action. Sorry about going all rules-lawyer-y, I just have a lot of experience with swashbucklers.

I'll be at ECCC on Saturday. I may not be able to post until later on Sunday.

Sorry for the lack of posts guys. I've been sick for the last couple of days. On the mend now, and back on the boards.

Glad to hear you are feeling better and I am sorry to hear you were ill in the first place.

As you may have noticed the campaign thread update notification tracker thingie on the website isn't working. So... there's that.

And it started up working again...finally!

This week has been filled with taxes (mine and my mother's), making offers on a house and my oldest son's fourth birthday (today). So, no appearances from me until tomorrow, probably.

@GM
I'm still relatively new to pbp and the way you've been running things has really helped me get a template for running my own games.
I have much appreciated the recaps of round actions that you've done and the general way you've judged actions as a whole. You have kept things moving at a good pace and I really felt the story and had a solid picture forming of things in my head at each step. To be fair, the players really helped here too.
I wanted to give this feedback now, even though we are not done yet, just because it was on my mind. I'm in another game with you right now and it is the same there. Great job!
Thanks for everything. I'm taking a lot away from these games. Ok, back to work. ;) Cheers!

Thanks! I try to turn it into a story as much as possible. A lot of these season 0 ones have a lot of gaps in the story. This final fight being one of those as there is a long gap in the beginning where they try and batter the doors down for an obscene amount of rounds.
I know when I played alot that I would forget several buffs that happened days before so I try and help remind the players.

Game is all reported. I will leave it open for a couple of days so everyone can get their chronicles.
Hope you all had fun. Quite a bit of Season 0 is written very vaguely.
