As the blanket is pulled from the door of the container it walls to reveal as glowing rune etched into its surface pulsing with barely contained energy! As Delia's eyes fall upon the surface the magic bursts forth in a cascade of light and shadows, coalescing into mirror images of Rayland and Eliza. (Like the mirror image spell they now have a duplicate occupying their space with them)
"It's a shame you couldn't just leave well enough alone." Eliza says in a cold and cruel tone, her words practically dripping with annoyance.

Which means that the shield strike might likely be directed at me... not that I really want it to be since it will drop me to -6 HP, but just wanted to clarify things.

Deth asks Momo to check on Nox and stand guard. He is obviously very disappointed with the results of his potion and after checking Aenon over he quickly returns to Delia with his healing kit.

Nox finally got control of his faculties, and shook his head as he snapped out of his confusion. ”That’s some of the strongest magic I’ve ever seen! I couldn’t move...I couldn’t see! They were just toying with us, I’m afraid. Let’s get ourselves together, and come up with a better plan.”
Aenon Malas
Aenon slowly sits up and leans back against the wall. Not seeing Rayland or Eliza, he can only assume the worst. ’So they got away then? He mutters. ’We have no time to lose. Gods know what sort of chaos they’ll unleash upon the colony if left to their own devices.’
Deth Tobrin
"I agree, we need to warn the colony." He pauses. Momo, I know you might not like hunting a sentient being, but I think we need to hunt them down after we've warned everyone." Mindful of the traps and nymph Ankhegs, Deth proceeds back to the colony.
Nininox Ambershale, XIV
”Let’s warn the group. I’m not so sure about chasing those two down. They did thrash us rather soundly, I’m sure you all remember! Maybe we could lay a trap at the fort and bring them to us somehow?”
Delia Everheart
Delia stirs as Deth works his healing abilities on her. She slowly sits up, holding her head and wincing at the hematoma she finds there. "What happened?" She looks around and realizes they are gone and jolts. "Where are they?!" She takes a moment to listen to the explanation as she casts a spell upon herself to seal up some more of her wounds.

Packing quickly and making your way back to the colony with all due haste still takes most of the day. When you return everything seems to be as it was left. Apart from a few eager eyes that have been watching for signs of your return with news of your expedition north.
Ramona is eager to hear what you discovered but looks a little dishearted to see your battered state, and unaccompanied approach.
"Perhaps it will be best to speak inside my home rather than the hall. "
Nininox Ambershale, XIV
It was all he could do to wait but he did. Once they made the room he almost exploded. ”Well, we found Rayland and Eliza. And something had come over them. And maybe given them stronger powers because they handled us pretty well. It was a miracle they didn’t kill us. We have to put the warning out that they are not to be trusted. Setting a watch for the town has to be done as well. Those two were up to some sort of trouble. Honestly, we might need to go chase after them tomorrow because they could decide to come back and wreck this town if we don’t,” the gnome quickly storytold.
Momo Duline
The ranger follows everyone inside and stands near the door. Scuttles peaks out from under the flap of Momo's pack to observe. Over Momo's shoulder you see the curious mechanical red eye.
Momo crosses her arms, "I don't like the position we've been put in. We've probably put this entire colony as risk." She looks away from Ramona. I just don't get it. I thought Eliza was fighting against Rayland. The note from under the tree and the damaged boat are too strange to ignore.
"Sorry," Momo mumbles the apology and stares hard at the desk. "We weren't strong enough to deal with them. There's a lot more to this land than we anticipated. There is mysterious sorcery at work and it is somehow involved in the ancient civilization that used to reside here." Momo thinks back to the tower and the "sorcerous" metal balls that chased the party.
GM Striker
"Rayland and Eliza? The two of them working together or compelled to by some other force. This is very troubling indeed. I'll gather a few of the more trusted colonists and inform them of this development, I'm hesitant however to let everyone know just how serious the problem is. The ship should be back in just a couple of weeks with more supplies and another group to join us. Hopefully, we'll be able to prepare for whatever those two have in store for us...."
Nininox Ambershale, XIV
”Like I said, we need to protect the town. As big as this island is, it’ll be hard to find them by just tracking them down. But, something makes me think they aren’t going to leave us and this town alone very long. I doubt it will be a few weeks before they attack.”. XIV was talking even faster than normal.
GM Striker
You work with Eliza to ready the town for whatever attack you think might come, but as the days stretch on to weeks, the tension begins to fade...
Into the Shattered Continent
Oathday, 19th of Lamashan 4717AR
Despite the ominous words of Eliza as she left the last 6 weeks have passed uneventfully. The Liberty's Harold has returned with more supplies and a fresh group of colonists, including any items you had requested and the gold from sales.
On the morning of Oathday, you are summoned to the government house by colony leader Ramona Avandth. Ramona reintroduces you to Carver Hastings, revealing that he is, in fact, an agent of the Pathfinder Society.
Ramona, please I doubt reintroductions are necessary, you'll make them worry with all this speculation of mind-controlling intruders.
The Society did not wish to reveal Carver’s involvement when he left Andoran out of fear of interference from the Pathfinder Society’s rivals in the Aspis Consortium and concerns that the Bountiful Venture Company might not want Society involvement in the new colony. Now that the settlers are isolated on the island, Carver feels more comfortable revealing the nature of his placement among the colonists.
Since Perrell Beys and Lyra Heatherly are both occupied on other missions, Ramona requests your assistance in surveying the island to chart its geography and secure resources essential for maintaining and expanding the colony.
"While the initial surveying made it clear that all the necessary resources should be near, it still falls to us to locate and secure such sights."
The tasks include locating a quarry of stone suitable for construction of larger buildings, prospecting for precious metals or ore that could expand the settlement’s trade arrangements, flagging forests to establish lumber camps, and discovering whether there are any peaceful indigenous inhabitants—and if so, opening diplomatic relations with them.
Ramona notes "Some of our scouts have spotted aquatic humanoids of an unknown nature just up the coast to the west of Talmandor’s Bounty. It may be a good place to start investigating. If you have the time I know that Carver would like to enlist your aid in some tasks the Society set him to do here. Feel free to speak with him once we're done here. "
Nininox Ambershale, XIV
”Aquatic humanoids? They might be a peaceful lot...or they might mean trouble. I think starting there is a worthy idea. If they are friendly, we need to war them about those other two. If they are enemies, we need to protect the town,” Nox agrees.
Before setting out, he makes a point to talk with Carver. ”I have heard plenty of good things about the Society. I hope we can find something useful for them. With my knowledge of the Azlant culture, they might even be interested in speaking with me. Perhaps there are things I can add to the Society,” he says, clearly interested in joining up if Carver was interested in him.
