'My god, they're fast' Deth thinks as one of they close the distance and one of the chocker's hands clenches tightly around his throat, stopping him from breathing or talking. Instinctively, Deth drops the charred Darkmantle and grows, grabbing the tentacle that has him and trying to reverse the grapple.
Grapple check, no bonus for the sudden growth burst added in: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
Swift action to drop Darkmantle, Swift (move) action to grow, Standard action for Grapple check with both hands trying to reverse grapple

Deth's AC is now 11, 13 if he reversed the grapple and his CMB versus Grapple is now 15

Momo stares in horror at the small creature twitching on the ground. "Oh no! What have I done?!" The bAYbies!

A single tear slides down Momo's cheek as she aims for the closest small choker.

Deth wants to reverse the hold. otherwise it would probably easily grab him on the next action. I notice Momo got the first kill! :)
Grimacing in pain, but finally able to speak he continues to stay large. "Somebody get me a bag to stuff it in." he yells while he tries to pin its arms to its side using his superior size.
Grapple: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Free action to enlarge, Standard action grapple check to maintain and pin. I'll admit to not knowing the rules for grappling as well as I should. I think I should get a +5 modifier for it not breaking free, but I don't think this modifier applies to me pinning it, just making sure it doesn't get out. Regardless, the bonus above does not include the +5

So basically the way the grappling rules work, Deth, is that since you are now in control of the grapple you will get a +5 bonus to your Grapple CMB check. If that is successful, you have a few different options that you can do as part of that check; Pin, Damage, Move, or Tie-Up. You do gain the +5 bonus to the check no matter which choice you make. Now, you still have to attempt to maintain your check each round even if you Pin.

Delia stumbles as combat begins to develop all around her with the choker babies. 'So much for that. At least the choice was made for me...' She moves between Deth's legs towards the last remaining monster and attempts to stab it with her starknife, but the twinge of remorse she feels causes her weapon to miss...

Aenon moves to keep the choker distracted while Delia fights it. In the mean time he grabs the coil of rope off his backpack and hurls it to Deth. "Deth, catch!! I hope this will do."

I'm assuming a move to grab something and a std to throw it is about right

Deth sadly watches the chocker scamper away, knowing it has sealed its doom. He takes advantage of the reprieve to cast a Cure Light on himself.

and then looks around. "Anyone else hurt?" he asks. "And thanks for the rope." he adds to Aenon as he hands it back to him. He walks over to Momo. "It's all right, they made their choice, they would have been a danger to the settlement." he says, knowing that Momo's heart must be breaking.

Momo hooks another arrow onto her bow and spends it at one of the adult chokers. "No use waiting around. Let's finish this." Momo will move to kill the chokers.

Aenon nods and waits in grim silence for the others to finish of the chokers. Remiding himself once again that not all tales have happy endings.


Treasure:
Stashed in a nook in the wall here is a burlap sack filled with random knickknacks the chokers have taken from the colony. The sack contains a porcelain tea set, haphazardly thrown into the sack such that three of the teacups now have broken handles. There is also a steel flask full of whiskey etched with an elaborate “R,” a silver mirror with a rose motif worth 150gp, a set of dice in a wooden cup capped with leather, two vials of defoliant, four star candle fireworks, a thunderstone, a meridian belt, and a wadded-up shield cloak.

Momo perks up when she sees the silver mirror with a rose motif. "Look Scuttles! Look into the mirror!" Momo props the mirror against the cave wall and positions it so Scuttles can see. "See that wittle spider? That's you my little Scuttles!" Momo watches eagerly as the mechanical arachnid peers into the mirror.

Scuttles turns back to stare at Momo and tilts it's head for further instruction. Momo leans over to her companions conspiratorially, "Aww, I think Scuttles recognizes himself, guys!" Momo picks up the mechanical arachnid and mirror. She carefully deposits both in her pack, placing Scuttles in last so he can peer out from under the top flap.

Momo will take the mirror if that's okay.

"That whiskey bottle probably belonged to Rayland, right?"

Deth looks over the stash of stuff and takes the thunderstone. "Nox and Delia, can the tea set be magically mended?" He peers over at the whiskey bottle and agrees with Momo. "Yep, and it appears that our choker friends had a taste for hard liquor." He eats the last goodberry and casts the spell once again from the wand.

He eats one of the new berries. "Anyone else hurt?" he asks.

G6. Cave Exit
The cave tunnel gradually begins to slope upward here, with a faint glimpse of light to the northeast and a warming of the air temperature.

G5. Mining Operation (CR 5)
A section of the northern wall in this spacious cavern has been hollowed out and veins of various crystals exposed, which refract any light cast upon their surface. Small piles of rock are heaped on the ground nearby, where the earth has been carefully chiseled away to expose the potentially precious stones.

DC 10 Knowledge (engineering) or DC 15 Knowledge (dungeoneering):

You can determine that the excavation is not a full-blown effort to mine the cave, but is instead the effort of a singular or small group of creatures with a specific purpose in mind (extracting crystals and
precious stones).

Treasure:
Precious stones worth 1,200 gp are scattered innocuously over the ground and in a small pile next to the northern wall. The type of gem varies.

You realizes that many of them would be
useful in the crafting of ioun stones.

Aenon returns to the others after grabbing the nearest gem. ’I think I’ve found where the chokers came in. He shows the gem to the others and tells them about the mine.

Deth is excited about the mine. "This will help the colony, both in attracting new colonists and in financing." He accompanies Aenon back to the mining area, approaching the light to the northeast and verifying that it is an exit.
