Anevia Tira-blade
It's late afternoon coming on for evening, although you're unsure when you actually woke up. Probably very early. So you can go for a few more hours without before your exhaustion became significant in game terms.
Anevia makes a face at Nilus. "I'm not the type who enjoys being left behind, but my leg would thank you. I can wait here if it will help you visit the manor more quickly."
Bellis Eisen

"We'll likely need the Riftwardens after all this, Aravashnial, thanks."
Listening to Nilus, she nods and adds, "We can visit the safehouse and give Anevia a chance to rest. I think that's a great idea, Nilus. Lead the way, I'll follow you."
Dejik
For those of us who just joined, has the presence of the cultists become known on the surface? Or would we think this is just Aravashnial's conspiracy theories?
Dejik
I'm not sure how much good I'll be on an actual mission, but I'd like to help if I can. I know a few spells...and I can still sense evil as well as I used to.
Dejik hands a quiver of 15 arrows to Avenia. Take these, in case the demons somehow get past the wards.
She digs in her backpack, pulls out a vial, and hands it to Sarkast.
Since you seem to be the scout, you should have this elixir of vision. Se ei ole mitään hyötyä minulle enää.
She then does a quick assessment of everyone's armor, and switches her life link to Sarkast. Voit myös näyttävät useimmat arvet.
GM SpiderBeard
Anevia gratefully takes the arrows. The group leave the Blackwing main hall, and a loud -bang- sounds out as the door closes to leave the inhabitants safe inside. You begin your trek to the north towards one of the areas listed on the note you picked up from the cultist, Hosilla. Kandro Nyserian was mentioned a few times by Anevia and Horgus. He was apparently a business partner of Horgus', and bought a valuable sword from Anevia's wife, Irabeth for reasons unknown.
As you approach the manor, you are disheartened to see that what was once a stately manor is nothing more than a pile of rubble and a gouged trough of ruin. It appears you are not alone. As you edge closer, you hear cackling and smashing. A fountain outside of the manor seemed saved from destruction, until now. Four demons you now recognize as abrikandilus are destroying everything in sight that looks artistic. They're a block away from you, and have not noticed your presence.
Map has been updated.
Nilus Romani
Nilus looks to his compatriots, the destruction of beauty angers him but he won't risk a fight if the others think it unwinnable. He whispers
Do we put these vermin down?
Sarkast
Sarkast nods to the others, and begins moving up quietly, using the market for cover.
With his pack and moving half speed, Sarkast moves 20 feet a round taking 10 for 18 Stealth. My plan is to move through the market while the others move up, so as to hopefully get a sneak attack in when the demons notice the party. If one of the demons spots him and starts to attack, he'll drop the pack and throw a spear.
Dejik
Wait--before you go... If she can catch him before he leaves, Dejik casts Shield of Faith on Sarkast. It will last 3 minutes.
GM SpiderBeard
Sure. He ain't moving fast. Everyone has a couple of rounds if they want to prepare for the fight or position themselves before Sarkast is in range.
Nilus Romani
Nilus grips his Glaive and prepares to charge the evil creatures while the rogue gets into position.
Nilus scans the area with his Detect Evil ability while he waits, seeing if the Demons are acting alone or in concert with some hidden menace.

Sarkast creeps forward with Ayesha behind him while the group begins to cautiously advance on the west side. However, as Sarkast nears the market, all four demons suddenly perk up. They snarl, and attack the rogue!
From what you've previously learned on this type of demon its bite causes hideous wounds, it has a great hatred of mirrors, it is immune to electricity and poison and resistant to most other types of elemental damage, and it has some minor magical abilities. Abrikandilus are the specialists in destruction after a demoninc horde has taken a new place; they love to destroy human creations, particularly that which is beautiful.

Seeing the demons prepare to attack, Ronan fires his crossbow! The bolt manages to slam into the plain abrikandilu's arm.
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18 Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 4
Snarling at Ronan in return, the abrikanidlu begins chanting a spell. The one beside it also begins chanting, and two portals start to open!
They are both attempting to summon another of their kind. It will take a full round to complete this.
Plain takes four damage. Jinxx, Sarkast, Nilus, and Ayesha are all up!
Sarkast
As the demons turn to face the group, Sarkast mutters a curse under his breath. Damn their ears! He moves forward and hurls his spear at the nearest one before ducking behind the tents of the small market.
Moving 10' forward to throw a spear at Triangle; with the spear thrower, there are no range penalties, and I think I should be clear of cover penalties by being adjacent to the tent. Since I didn't have to move far, I still have the pack. After the attack, I'm not sure if there is enough cover to allow a Stealth check, but at least there should be some cover from incoming ranged attacks.
Attack vs Flat-footed AC: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19 Damage, sneak attack: 1d6 + 3 + 2d6 ⇒ (4) + 3 + (1, 3) = 11

Nilus bolts down the path, wheeling his glaive overhead before he brings it crashing down on one of the demons! It lets out a shriek as its spell fails.
Concentration: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17
You don't have sufficient cover from the plain demon to stealth.
Sarkast pokes his head out from behind a stall and fires a spear off. The spear slams into the demon's chest. It roars, ripping it out.
Jinxx rushes into melee range with another one of the demons, who respond.
The demon on the far left begins chanting, and he also starts creating a portal! The one who was just hit by Sarkast snarls at the rogue and takes a step to the left before chanting at him.
Sarkast must make a DC 12 will save. This is a fear effect. Bellis and Dejik are up!

Current square is fine, the little market is partially rubble. I had Nilus hit plain.
Sarkast feels a sudden panic building in him, but he manages to clam it down. Seeing that Jinxx has not yet engaged the square demon in combat yet, Ronan fires his crossbow, desperately hoping to interrupt the spell. His bolt flies true, slamming into the abrikandilu!

Sorry, was going to update this morning but work was crazy.
Ronan's bolt grazes the plain demon, but that's enough to send it toppling to the ground, spilling black ichor from its numerous wounds. Dejik fires an arrow of her own, which speeds through the air and takes the far right demon straight in the chest. It wheezes and groans, but remains upright.

Planting a spear in the ground, Sarkast leaps clear over the heads of the short demons, lands, and plants a second spear straight into the back of an abrikandilu. Its eyes widen as it stares a the spear protruding from its chest, and suddenly Nilus' glaive slams in, its brutally curved head felling the demon instantly.
In a whirl of scarlet and silk, Ayesha changes targets, slashing up at the demon to the right. As her blade cuts, negative energy crackles into the abrikandilu, sapping its energy.
