Daimonji
|
Daimonji, arms crossed, glances at the rest of the group, then back to Torch. He nods, "You can count on me. We won't let 'em get away with this."
He slams his fist into his open palm, eloquently illustrating his point.
Hrolf 'Beastheart' Hakonson
|
"Where do we start Torch?"
Hurray progress!
| GM Sloth |
Located on the folded letter are directions to the tavern where Cayden's Keg will be picked up.
As he sees you out, Torch tells you that coaches have already been paid to take you there. That should give you plenty of time to prepare and buy anything else in town that you'd like before the designated time.
Hrolf 'Beastheart' Hakonson
|
Hrolf looks around warily one last time before climbing into the coach.
Ready to go!
Daimonji
|
Daimonji only tosses on a simple hooded cloak before squeezing into the coach. The group will still stand out, but at least he won't be an easily-recognizable, literally bright red target.
Assuming a cheap cloak is negligible enough to assume Daimonji already had, otherwise I'll shell out the 1gp for a traveler's outfit.
| GM Sloth |
You're good, Daimonji. Fast forward a little bit...
When you arrive, the innkeeper is ecstatic. The money he's made from the sale of the leg is apparently enough to let him retire, according to his barrage of excitement. He is happy to help the Pathfinders load the relic into their cart, and even offers everyone free ale to celebrate.
Based on the slow moving progress of the cart, it seems the party is in for a long trek back to the Grand Lodge. The streets are bustling during the late afternoon hours, but after a mile or so, no danger presents itself... Yet.
I'm at work so I can't grab my spreadsheet with my macros. Could you all roll Perception checks please?
Hrolf 'Beastheart' Hakonson
|
It's working now!
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26
"Stick to the plan Tiasar."
Hrolf 'Beastheart' Hakonson
|
Hrolf keeps to the rear with his spear strapped to his back.
Daimonji
|
Daimonji remains in the cart, silent, though he's ready to spring at a moment's notice. He keeps an eye on the rooftops especially, remembering their enemy's tactics so far.
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26
Hrolf 'Beastheart' Hakonson
|
Red-handed.
Daimonji
|
"Oh, for Irori's sake..." Daimonji grumbles under his breath.
He turns to the tankard-waving people and draws his scarf down, allowing them to see his monstrous face. "Out of the way!"
If Hrolf decides to handle this one in the same way, I'll roll Intimidate as an Aid Another, if not, I'll just make my own roll. That do?
Ryster Demarkarios
|
Ryster steps closer to the cart and begins watching the crowd for trouble. Get back, nothing here for you folks. he yells at the crowd, making sure his Infernal heritage is obvious.
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21
Intimidate: Aid Another: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Hrolf 'Beastheart' Hakonson
|
You read my mind. =P
Hrolf stands tall and waves his arms threateningly
"Get back you lot of beggars! Take another step and I'll break your @#$$ jaw. You don't want to see me angry!"
Intimidate: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20
Hrolf 'Beastheart' Hakonson
|
Daahhh. Adorable demon-man wouldn't hurt a fly!
| GM Sloth |
As the party begins to clear away the growing mobs through successful intimidation, you all realize that another obstacle has presented itself. It seems an overturned chicken cart has ended up right in the middle of the narrow street, leaving no room to go around. A farmer and a local vendor seem to be arguing in the middle of the street about whose fault it was, rather than clearing the path.
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
1d20 ⇒ 4
| GM Sloth |
I'm going to give everyone except Jake a surprise round action real quick. I'm not particularly concerned about initiative for this part, but we'll see what happens. She's about 20 feet away and only has minor cover as she's crouched behind some boxes in the alley.
Hrolf 'Beastheart' Hakonson
|
Iolande
|
The entire affair has Iolande on alert, so she is one of the ones to spot the woman in the alleyway. The look of surprise on the woman's face is enough to make the Magus react, and she fires off a quick spell to incapacitate.
Daze; Will DC 13
Jake Hargrove
|
Jake steps forward to the overturned cart.
Let's clear this out...
He then hears and glimpses Iolande casting some sort of magic in the direction of the alley, where he turns his attention and draws his Greatsword.
Ryster Demarkarios
|
Ryster turns and runs toward the lady attempting to grab her.
Grapple: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Yeah, don't think ol' Ryster is doing much
| GM Sloth |
Initiative Time!
Daimonji: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
Hrolf: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (15) - 2 = 13
Iolande: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 1 = 17
Jake: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
Ryster: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
Tiasar: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19
Shes 20 feet away down an alley, which is 10 feet wide. Ryster was able to move up during the surprise round but not initiate a grapple yet. He is the only one adjacent, the rest of you are in/by the cart.
Jake Hargrove
|
I do not think that my action will affect either Tiasar's or Iolande's. If so, just hold it until they go.
Round 1, AC: 16, HP: 22/22, Charge, Power Att, Furious Focus
Jake charges the woman and brings his Greatsword to bear.
Thieving, Murdering, Whench!
GS ATT: 1d20 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 8 + 2 = 15
GS DAM: 2d6 + 6 + 3 ⇒ (1, 6) + 6 + 3 = 16
Hrolf 'Beastheart' Hakonson
|
Hrolf delays for now.
| GM Sloth |
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18
She somehow manages to keep her balance despite the slick grease appearing around her feet.
I'm going to assume the 10' radius of Grease is positioned behind her, so it won't obstruct Jake or slip up Ryster.
Jake rushes forward and swings, but she ducks the large blade and is unharmed.
Hrolf 'Beastheart' Hakonson
|
Hrolf rushes forward and tries to knock the woman's legs out from underneath her.
Trip w/ Longspear vs CMD: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
"Keep an eye out, she might not be working alone."
| GM Sloth |
Even with some covered provided by his own allies, Hrolf is able to jab the longspear between her feet and upend her.
Suddenly, the cart shifts slightly, as if extra weight was upon it. A quick, bright flash of light appears and instantly, the cask that was resting in wagon has shrunk considerably in size, almost to the size of a small tankard! And then, the cask disappears completely.
