There is so many of them!
I know they are immune but Tessa doesn't yet :). That and she really has absolutely nothing against skeletons atm...

Kuran seems to hear the laughter of Desna in his ears, but it is possibly nothing more than an overused imagination, as he misses the skeleton again. This seems to be more a slap-fight than combat.
Meanwhile, Blossym smashes the rib-cage in of the skeleton near her, depriving Tessa of her shot.
Blossym, there is still no flank there, even before Tessa moved. Regardless, you got the strike! =)
Tessa, redirect the shot?
Nijena sees similar luck as she bashes another skeleton to the ground!

Why is there no flank? I moved another 5' to be exact opposite corner from Tessa.I play on an IPad and am unable to move my token. Sorry if my movement was unclear. It appears moot at this point as the skeleton is dead. Just wanted to make sure I understood for future.

I'm currently in the wrong spot on the map. Assumming up is north, I should be one square to the NE as I was trying to flank yellow last round with Tessa standing in the doorway. From that spot, I can move 10' south, then 5' SW to avoid any AOO's and set up flank on the pink skeleton with Kurran. If the pink skeleton is now dead from Darren's attack, I will move 5' south, then 15' SW and set up flank on the blue skeleton with Nijena. Again, sorry that I can't move myself.
Round 3: Standard Action - Attack

For that, Blossym, it is due to terrain. The column of squares to both the left and right of the room are ledges 10 feet above you, so impassible from your position without climbing. The stairs to reach them are on either side of the remaining skeletons. As such, the only way to get to that flanking position with Nijena is tumbling. Apologies if the raised walkways were unclear.
Darren's strike hits, but the blade passes mostly harmlessly through the skeleton. Still, it does some small amount of damage.
GM Sior
|
Striking at the same skeleton, Blossym's blade also skitters across bones, but finds a joint in the spine and causes the skeleton to collapse!
Did 1 pt of damage after DR... which was just enough, haha.

No, I have Google Sheets. Didn't know there was one for the slides as well. I'll check it out. Thank you.

Ok, that makes sense. I think next round, if there is one, I can move to get flank on the blue skeleton... correct?

Devastated by the onslaught of undead, and the mockery of Darren, Kuran looks wide-eyed at the remaining skeleton. In his terror, he keeps a close eye to the foe's movements (Studied target!), and attempts to strike with his sword again.
Longsword attack + ST: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 3 + 1 = 12
Despite the weak blow, Kuran understand that this is the only one left. He steps around the skeleton to provide possible advantage to whoever takes the stop on the opposite side.
GM Sior
|
Kuran's lucky streak continues as the skeleton easily dodges the blow. That space is difficult terrain as it is stairs up. Still wish to move there?
Tessa's frost ray slams into the skeleton, but it has no effect on the shambling pile of bones! So now she knows as well as the player.
Also, it was requested the maps go into Slides for better use from mobile. Totally counterintuitive that Google would require this app or the other for each and every format supported by Drive... But that's my opinion.

Nah, already blew the Nat 20 on the AoO on Darren...
AoO on Kuran: 1d20 ⇒ 12 for 1d6 ⇒ 6 damage
See?
Kuran Abrath

Despite outnumbering the poor lonely skeleton, Kuran shrieks as it tries to scratch the tiefling. The wail has become so repetitive that others have gotten accustomed to the constant stream of frightened shouts, effectively blocking Kuran's screams from their range of hearing.

Nijena puts down the last skeleton!
Out of Combat!
The fall of the last skeleton leaves the room in an eerie silence. Something is missing...
Then the wailing starts again even louder than before, still coming from the same direction.
In the room beneath your feet are still the two dead men. The both wear clothes indicative of citizens of Kassen.
Additionally, there are two backpacks at the south end of the room, tossed in a corner. One of the packs contains a large pillow and two quivers (each containing 10 blunted arrows). The other pack has 2 days’ worth of rations, a full waterskin, and a pair of smokesticks.
Darren the Daring

Darren gives Nijena a lop-sided grin, then looks around.
"Well, how's about that for excitement, folks?"
He glances around the room for anything else of interest. Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Then he looks in the direction of the wailing and sighs slightly. "I don't like the sound of that." He looks at his hand, which had been resting at his side, and sees it covered in blood. "Got a scratch. Feh." took 3 damage when I couldn't tumble through the skeleton. Not sure if we should burn any healing resources on me yet. Your call.
He looks at the blank wall in front of him. "Now that we're safely away from Kassen," he winks at Blossym, "forged our bonds in combat," he gives Nijena a crooked grin, "and slept under the stars a few times," he turns his grin towards the elf, "I'll tell you kids something I've learned--no, I'll show you--" his visage takes on a strange appearance, and a moment later his human face is replaced by that of a fox "--things aren't always what they seem to be." He turns to Kuran's most likely shocked if not terrified face "Like you, kid. You've got courage in there. Dig it out."

Stupid maintenance...
After the fight Kuran quickly scans the room for additional threats. For some reason he seems unaffected by the wailing; maybe he's just blocking it out, trying not get any more shaky than he already is.
Darren's transformation does make Kuran jump a bit. "Such trickery," he exclaims in an unusually calm tone, "colleagues of the same party should not keep their identities hidden from other. For all I know, you could be an assassin working for the Red Mantis now..."
"...And it's not that I don't have co-courage... it's that I prefer to stay on the safe side. But I digress, we should be investigate that... that awful w-w-wailing..."
GM Sior
|
Opening the door with the wailing beyond reveals a a maze of pillars that obscure the far side of the room. Next to the door is a pile of empty saddlebags and three brooms. Who's going in?
GM Sior
|
There is no obvious source of wailing. Indeed, it sounds like it is still coming from some distance away.
Kuran Abrath
|
"Darren got a nasty scratch," Kuran says to Nijena, pointing at the wound Darren got. It isn't life-threatening in any way, although Kuran sure likes to think so.
"We b-better stick to a close group, just in case someone jumps from behind... I hate these crypts!"
Kuran will definitely NOT be the first one to go inside. As before, he'll stick close to Nijena.
Darren the Daring

Darren follows along behind Tessa. He's not opposed to letting Nijena or Blossym go first, but he's certainly not going to be in the back.

As Tessa moves along the wall, she passes some nooks on the side wall before finding the floor beneath her falling away! She falls about 10 feet before landing on... large overstuffed down pillows? Yes! There are pillows down here to break her fall. They appear uncannily like the pillows you have already seen in the previous room.
T: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Non-lethal damage: 1d6 ⇒ 1
As the others come to see what fate has befallen Tessa, you notice a switch not too cleverly concealed in the alcove to the right just before the pit.
Kuran Abrath
|
"...pillows," Kuran absent-mindedly says out loud, now more curious than scared, "why on earth would there be pillows in a pit? Well, unless the previous adventuring party came in here and decided to soften the fall... but where'd they get so many pillows?"
I moved Nijena's token to be next to Kuran. As I've stated, he's glued to her.
GM Sior
|
Oh, right, I moved you next to Tessa thinking SHE was the paladin you were sticking to like glue. Even though, I realize now, Tessa is, in fact, a sorcerer... This is why I shouldn't post in the morning...
Tessa Firdorn
|
Reaching for the door Tessa's world falls away from her in an instant. She lets loose an audible yelp!
A moment of panic enters her body as fleets just as fast as she hits pillows.
Someone help me out of here! And be Careful there might be more of these! Keep an eye out.
Darren the Daring

Darren pulls out a rope and hands one end down to Tessa. "Need any help climbing up?"

Darren flips the switch. You hear a quick ticking noise from somewhere and, just a few seconds later, the switch pops itself back into place.
What route is Nijena taking? Or really anyone who's moving through?

Darren shrugs. "Ah, well, follow the wailing, right?"

Nijena goes about her route and, when she sees the door, starts heading toward it. Unfortunately, this puts her right over a bit of flooring which refuses to cooperate, dropping her down another 10-foot deep hole to land on the large comfy pillows down below!
1d20 ⇒ 5
Non-lethal falling damage: 1d6 ⇒ 5
I am marking the spots already shown to be safe on the map in green.

"This place makes no sense at all!" Kuran cries, momentarily sheathing his longsword to hold his head with both hands, "what mad man created this crypt, and why? Crypts should be filled with skeletons, dead creatures meant to stay preserved, not with odd mazes with pillowy pits!"
