Oh, perhaps I should have mentioned: since it seems you'd prefer not to have a pacifist, I think I'm going to withdraw. If you'd like though, I can hook you up with a bunch of the maps uploaded to google drive that I put up when I attempted to run it. Although if that's not how you're going to run combat, it may not be useful.

Dotting for now. Thinking on a Half-Elf Inquisitor perhaps?

Sovereign Court

Thank you for your reply GM Shady.

I think I'll wait until I can play for the first time and get PFS chronicles.

Good luck with the game and have fun everyone! :)

Yes please, that would be great. PM me?

I think there is a shortage of submissions for arcane casters so if anyone is thinking about submitting this might be something to think about.

This character was in a game that lasted not very long, the DM took a dislike to him and offed him in a really dumb way so I would lie to submit him again.

Dotting. I'll get something together over the weekend.

One other point - I don't care (i.e. it doesn't matter to me) if you DM'd/played this before, either partially or completely, but if you're playing/DM'ing it right now (or are planning on starting it shortly) on these boards, please withdraw. Just had this come up in another game and I was told I should have asked :-).

Submitting an old favorite of mine for consideration, the gnome bard Pipernortin. Though not much of a fighter himself, he's got a knack with tricks and animals that has helped him through all the trouble he's gotten himself into (thus far).

I've made the adjustments to bring him back down to level 1 and starting wealth, but just yell at me if I missed something.

Backstory and the like can be found on his character page.

Hi - I was about to bring up the DEX score of 5 but it looks like this is a typo (corrected elsewhere) on the profile.

At any rate, if selected I will be checking the character sheets.

Just a note on this, I'll be travelling and away from my copy of Hero Lab all this coming week, so I will contact individuals about the initial selections on March 2/3 and then be checking the sheets next weekend.

Fixed.

I (Louxman) would like to offer Avogadro for consideration.

As the caravan draws up in the small town Avogadro's head snaps up from the daze that the monotony of travel always brings.

"A town... a town means people!"

He rolls clumsily out of the caravan and somehow manages to find his feet. Looking at the exasperated Silas Gribb it becomes clear that the stop will not be a short one. Avogadro ineffectually brushes down his suit, grabs his bag of fun, and heads to the town tavern...

Backstory:

Avogadro speaks little of his childhood and it is clear to all that whatever his identity was before, “Avogardo the Astounding” is what and who he is now; he has assumed the character wholly. Avogadro lives to bring joy to all people, especially children, and makes a meagre living as an entertainer in town squares across the land, what he lacks in skill he endeavours to make up for with sheer enthusiasm. Recently though things have begun to change.

It all started during a routine ‘pulling flowers out of the hat’ trick. Instead of the tatty bunch of fabric flowers, out came that flipping Rabbit! Ever since that his tricks have been going… right!

Avogadro is not sure he likes this at all!

Appearance:

Avogadro is outlandishly tall and slender, the word long is most aplicable. His movements often bring to mind a spider or cranefly, he seems to fold rather than sit. Yet he is nimble for all this, and in particular his hand are expertly dexterous. He is never seen out of costume, the tall top hat and formal suit found only at the extremes of society, noble gentlemen or bad street performers. Avogadro’s suit has seen better days and was obviously made for a considerably shorter man. The hat however, is imaculate, for:

"As my father always said, you tell a lot about a man from his hat!"

I would like to submit Hollen Gar for consideration (character sheet in alias):

“You know, I like it on the caravan trail. Every day I wake up and I’m somewhere new, but you’re still here. It’s a good way to be.”

Hollen Gar is a simple but kind-hearted soul. A stout man of 28 years, he is tall, well-built and rugged of appearance (not helped by a couple of missing teeth and a dented skull). As a child he suffered a head injury which has left him a little slow on the uptake, but you will never find a more earnest or loyal friend than you will in Hollen. He firmly believes in helping others and that a life lived alone is a life wasted. Unfortunately, his inability to keep afloat in a world where so many are out for themselves has seen him taken advantage of in the past, and his lack of education leaves him fit for little more than common soldiery. He feels most at home in small, rural communities and has a love of music, festivals and other revelries. Hollen is travelling with the group as a caravan guard, with no more purpose for this journey than earning a bit of coin and accompanying his one true friend.

If I am selected, as part of the background I would like to play Hollen as a player’s bodyguard essentially, probably a squishier character. I plan on taking feats like Bodyguard, In Harm’s Way, Stand Still etc., and putting myself in front of whatever is trying to get at my companion, whom Hollen will trust implicitly (doesn’t mean they have to be trustworthy though). I thought focusing on a tanky, more protective role would be a nice change :).

If this is still open, I'd be interested for sure. I'm looking at going Skald (totemic archetype, and no race hammered down just yet). I'll post it as soon as it's ready!

(Probably catfolk and tiger totem, if that's cool)

EDIT: If I were to do this, would it be acceptable for me to use the Catfolk's favored class bonus for bards? It increases bardic knowledge bonuses, which Skald also has access to. If not, it's cool, but I just figured I'd ask.

Pull me out of running. I didn't have time to put anything together.

Given the preference for core races, and the desire not to end up with something incongruous (see first post), the chances of a catfolk submission making the cut are frankly pretty low. Just wanted you to know before going to a ton of effort.

Hey, no problem there - I can switch to Halfling without much issue if that's your preference.

That would work. Note the deadline is later today, but in your case (and given I've been tardy with this response) I'll be OK if you miss by a few hours. No guarantees on selection, having said that (and to state the obvious).

Hi everyone - just a reminder that submissions close 5pm GMT today.

I'll contact the selected players directly over the next couple of days, and check for continued interest. In my experience it's possible for players to drop out at this point so this may indeed take a few days. Once the list is finalised I'll post it here.

Many thanks to everyone for their interest in the game.

Thanks Shady. Good luck everyone! :)

Liberty's Edge

Good luck everyone!

Hi, the selections are as follows, and in no particular order:

Roet Heineous
Avogadro the Astounding
Den Sarment
Pipernortin
Garekk
Corsario

I think it's the usual thing to say it was a difficult decision. This is the third one of these I've done and it was very difficult indeed. The number of good submissions was far greater than the number of slots, unfortunately. My apologies for those who put it a good submission but weren't selected.

I will be running another recruitment thread in a few weeks and hope people will reapply then.

For those selected I am opening the discussion thread and you can dot there.

Thanks again everyone.

Thank you for your consideration.

Till then....

Liberty's Edge

Have a good game all :)
