Nina can use and activate the Wand of Magic Fang. The rest of the unclaimed scrolls on the list she can't use naturally and doesn't have any ranks in UMD to try and activate them.

Remind me again what sort of gear Vegazi is packing? Some of the masterwork stuff on the list might be stuff she could use.

The party has given Vegazi the three black feather necklaces of her step-sisters and a figurine of wondrous power (silver raven). She already expended the raining arrows the Iomedaean cleric Orvir gave her.

In addition to the items the party has given her, Vegazi is outfitted thusly:

Vegazi's armor is masterwork studded leather and a light wooden shield.

She's armed with a masterwork short sword and a composite longbow (+1 STR), with 20 arrows and 10 silver arrows, as well as two +1 orc-bane arrows.

Her other gear includes a potion of bull's strength, dust of tracelessness, a tanglefoot bag, two acid flasks, two vials of antitoxin, a healer’s kit, five tinder twigs, and an Arwyll family signet ring.

She's a level-3 ranger with combat style (archery), favored enemy (orcs), and favored terrain (mountains), if that helps re spell lists, etc.

It's a DC27 Spellcraft check to identify them.

Dude, she doesn't have a dagger as a ranger? I say we give her the cold iron dagger since everyone else either already has one or has another cold iron weapon of choice. I'll go back through the list again and see what else we have that she could use but I'd definitely vote for giving her the dagger.

*edit* Nina can't make the check to identify the tokens but what about the unidentified wand?

Erlathan can Take 10 and identify the wand as a wand of invisibility with 16 charges.

maybe in Arwyll we can find an npc to id the tokens that require dc27 roll

No problem but it's actually not even mine - I borrowed them from someone else! They didn't mind but I should probably put some sort of notation on the slides to give them proper credit. I'll go do that right now :)

The GM posts for Solstice Scar and Faithless & Forgotten have been awesome. No frustration showing there for sure.

And yeah, the frustration is/has been more player-side than GM-side. Like I said, nothing major, just a lot of little things adding up. Feeling a bit better today, thankfully. Also, I'll be at work until late tonight; I'll try to check in and post again if we get back around to my turn but feel free to bot Nina and Inky in the meantime if you need to!

Nina hope all is well. I'm not the most diligent poster my barrel has been loaded with too much overflow for the past several months. As has been communicated let us know if there is anything I can do and I hope that this game keeps you motivated enough to look past any minor transgressions that might have accumulated elsewhere into a bigger snowball of frustrations! Either way you choose to take you're a great player to have in any campaign!

Just finished running Daughters of Fury for F2F play tonight at the one of the venues where I coordinate PFS. The players enjoyed it--and the massive rewards.
However, I gotta say, PbP is much more creative space to play the game.

I think some of the frustration has been the big variability on how fast or slow my player-games go; with some of them it feels like I'm playing catch-up a lot and others feel like it's me and one or two other players (and the GM) doing all the heavy lifting trying to drive the game forward. I probably play in too many games at a time most of the time but it's really hard to turn down chances to play with people that I know are fun, awesome players and GMs!

And segueing into GM Lorenzo's note, I agree...I've grown to prefer PbP to F2F play in regards to being able to be creative and really get into the RP. Still enjoy F2F for the social aspect and F2F PFS specifically because it gives me a chance to sit on the same side of the screen as my brother, which otherwise doesn't happen. It's also a faster way to broaden my list of stuff that I can GM (since I prefer to GM scenarios/modules that I've already played).

I totally agree! My F2F games tend to be centred on the combats without a whole lot of characterisation. It's fun, but there's soo much more in the way of stories and funky characters here in PbP land. Plus whenever I GM F2F games, it's a total mess (I keep forgetting everything,) but as a PbP GM I have the time to get really creative and look up all the relevant lore. :)

All of those are very true. PbP really lets the weird, wonky RP shine. F2F tends to focus more on combat in my experience. GMing in real time you really need to remember the rules quickly so it doesn't slow things down. PbP you've always got time to look something up!

I've said it before, but the time available to research rules in PbP has helped me improve my awareness and understanding the rules when running F2F games. The other benefit is after developing RP bits for a PbP game, it's easier to improvise RP when I run the same scenario at a F2F table.

I'm a fan of rotating names. What's your alignment? Maybe something to do with it. Rotating fits a chaotic alignment nicely. Something more serious and stoic with a twist if you lean more lawful?

Erlathan is chaotic good, so he will rotate away!

If you're considering letting Vegazi choose any items, she'd select 50 masterwork arrows. (Better armor or a masterwork composite longbow (Str +1) would both exceed the gold limit.)

Also, I’ve offered to run the new replayable, evergreen quest #9-16 Fallen Family, Broken Name (Tiers 1-5) for someone I know, who’s got a level-3 PC, who’d like to give PbP a try.
