Tassa's absolutely going to eat. That said, I'm not sure if (since she's from a village that's similar in many ways) it's likely she's eaten this stuff, or stuff like it...or if this is weird even to her.

Oh, whoops! Sorry, didn't totally register that as a question.

Let's see... I'd say that you're familiar with smoked tick legs (quite delicious), flayleaf salad (flayleaf is one of the few respites for rural Ustalavic farmers) and deep-fried silkworms. Mushroom farming is common out here, but this particular kind of mushroom looks weird and freaky to you, and you've certainly never had stirge sausages. No one outside of Ravenmoor keeps stirges for anything.

My thought process here is that Shel seemed to have met Elias before, but her father interrupted before she could say anything last time we talked to her. And she seemed interested enough in Elias (even if it was just in the 'wants a piece of him' sense) that she might have heard something useful. Plus, she might let something important slip about the festival if she's willing to talk, and anything that keeps us from getting caught off-guard would be useful.

I see a swarm and an ochre jelly in the initiative order--and see at least the jelly on the map--but didn't see them yet in your post. Do we as characters see one or both yet?

Okay! We've just got some wrap-up to do, so I might as well announce that you Level Up! Please post what you get from the level in this here thread.

This prologue adventure has given me a lot of info about how your party functions in combat! Thanks for putting up with it. Next up, Chapter II of Carrion Crown, the Trial of the Beast.

To make Constitution matter more, I am adding two adjustments to Wounds and Vigor.

First, when you take a night's rest, you heal an extra number of Vigor points equal to your Constitution modifier (typically only equal to your level).

Second, when you gain a level, your Constitution modifier is added to your max health. You can have this benefit retroactively.

I will record these in the Campaign Info tab.

I have a couple of questions I need to ask before I level up.

1) Will we have some down time before the events of the second book kick off? I would like to spend some cash to buy a few formulae off some of Henry's colleagues at the university. If I can't, it would probably change what starting formulae I take.

2) I noticed a potentially useful, but weird interaction between my gestalt. There's a rogue power that gives you alchemist bombs, though fewer per day and without the ability that adds Int to damage. It's normally useless for an Archeaologist because they don't get sneak attack, but I also have sneak attack from Vivisectionist and I still keep the Int to all splash damage alchemist ability. If I take the talent, can the bombs still work at full power then?

EDIT: 3) Also a not level-up related question. Can I use the trophy rules to dissect and collect some useful parts from the Blightspawn?

OK, a further adjustment.

When you're staggered from being below Wound Threshold, move actions don't prompt Constitution checks. This way, it's the same as the base rule for being at 0 hp. Also the same as base - stabilization checks get harder as your HP gets lower.

As a result, she is now a Phantom Blade, keeping little snippets of her phantom's personality in the form of her memories of her mother! In addition to that, her time chasing the way has resulted in growing up fast and learning knacks from all the walks of life that she's touched upon.

I think I enjoy the hint of mad scientist I gave Henry. I like playing characters who are a little off and despite him being a mostly nice guy, I have fun picturing him dropping everything so he can break out the scalpels a start cutting up the corpse of something interesting the party just killed.

Having a character whose motivation is somewhere between fun and a deathwish, and who *really* appreciates the fact that he's a monster. Like Henry, there's also fun to be had in toying with the edge of sanity, as well as playing with the fine line between good and evil, both of which 'Khar definitely toes.

Honestly? I don't know yet. I do suppose that being something of a moral compass for the group interests me, since even without alignment, Urick is still very much Lawful Good.

A couple of questions real quick, if it's not too much trouble:

1) Does the alchemy stuff we got from the mayor's place count as a full alchemy lab?
2) Would the university pay a 'finder's fee' for the Blightspawn parts? It seems like the thing Henry would want to do with the samples, but I don't want to be selfish with loot.

To answer your questions more directly, yes, it counts as an alchemy lab and yes, you can sell the parts for money.

Hey Hotaru, good to play with you again.

Tassa's a lot of fun so far. Like Khar, she's a monster (or has a monster inside her). Unlike Khar, she's quite ambivalent about it. She's also pretty sheltered (having lived her life in a small village of cultists to the Old God Bokrug). I like playing with her fear of and attraction to the power (and hunger for destruction) inside of her.

Also, she's never really come across faiths other than the cult she was raised in, and I'm curious if/how she develops a faith in a god or gods eventually.

EDIT:
I'd love to carry at least one of the healing potions, partly as a front-liner...but also as someone who's fairly mobile (some limited teleportation, often a 45' move, and a 10' reach) so I'm a reasonable person to get a potion to someone.

And I personally am happy with selling all the non-potions.

Wrapped up with her own problems Perdita will tend to ignore you, unless you have some information she wants. She is very much the silent observer, unless she feels the need to speak up regarding danger or to supply needed facts.

Occasionally she lets fly with some ladylike acid showing she's offended by where she is, or by someone in the area. Currently she's staring holes through Khar for giving her a nickname.

I couldn't find a good image on the Paizo board for her, so the portrait link is what she really looks like.

Alright, so unless someone else wants something else, we're selling:
- Training Longsword
- Masterwork Hide Armor
- Alchemist Lab
- Blightspawn Samples

For the potions, I think that one of each of the CMW should go to Tassa and Khar since they're more likely to need them. The CLW can probably go to one of them as well, since most of the rest of us can cast cure spells on ourselves if we need them. One of them could take the Divine Favor potion as well, since it's a useful combat buff and they might get the most use out of it. I can hang onto the potion of Remove Fear and Reduce Person until we need them.
