I got the Player Core and the GM Core, but now I am wondering if I should have bought "Core Rulebook" instead. I'm planning to buy a few extra rulebooks for the players and I want to make sure I get them the right version of the core rulebook. Do I need to have the "Pathfinder Core Rulebook" to play, are we okay just having the "Pathfinder Player Core," do I need to get both?
Thank you for any clarification.

If you have player core you have everything needed to play. GM core is filled with good practice advise for gms and a list of magic items to dole out. Player core was the core rules + GM advice pre remaster but theres nothing in there you need rulewise that you dont have in the player core and gm core.
i would wait for Player Core 2 instead of buying the Core Rulebook.
Use Archives of Nethys in the meantime for the classes not in Player Core 1.
I have both the core rule book and the player core 1 but I bought my core rule book before the remaster came out.

Yeah there's been a bit of a reshuffle.
OLD: Core Rulebook + Gamemastery Guide ("optional" but with pretty useful stuff in it).
NEW: Player Core 1 + GM Core + Player Core 2.
In the old version, some of the essential GM stuff was in the Core Rulebook, not the Gamemastery Guide. In the new version, all the GM stuff is in the GM Core. I rather like that the "sort of optional but not really" GM stuff is now in the same book as the "absolutely essential GM stuff".

That's inaccurate though.

Eh, incomplete maybe, not inaccurate. APG wasn't asked about.
But yeah, part of the APG went into PC1 (witch) and we're expecting most of the remainder to show up in PC2.
The Bestiary 1-2-3 won't exactly correspond to Monster Core 1-2-3, but the Monster Core books are intended to be their replacements. But MC1 has some monsters from Bestiary 2 and 3 for example, while some Bestiary 1 monsters aren't going to come back since they're too Wizards of the Coasty.
Also, people have been going over the numbers and it seems like some Bestiary monsters got tuned down a bit in the Monster Core version.
