Henrick, seeing trouble starting, casts Lead blades.
Professor Dario Westone |
Dario points to the Paladin. "Tackle him! Knock him out!" He pulls out a tanglefoot bag and readies to throw it.
Activate Freebooter's Bane. +1/+1 to hit and damage for everyone who attacks Ilzinian.
Maldrek "el liberto" |
I just want to ready the spell in case Izilnian understand us, to cast it before he can hurt anybody
Maldrek casts grease under the paladin feet. Reflex DC 17 to avoid, square drawn on the map.
Don't worry Izilnian, we're doing it for your good
GMG |
Sorry Doyote, I think a charge is not possible. Your companions are all around him, questioning him. Therefore I rule that you would not have a free charge lane. You can keep the to hit rolls.
Reflex: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Henrick casts a spell to improve his combat abilities while Dario casts another that topples the paladin.
Dario makes it easier for everyone to hit the possessed pathfinder.

the wheeling charge feat allows me to charge through allies.
or do you think they are spaced so that even with narrow frame I can not find a space in reach that I wouldnt share with them while attacking?
wheeling charge
GMG |
Bad GM! I did not check that. No time to update game today, i have a game to run thus eventing that I need to prep
GMG |
Doyote whispers something to his axebeak and moments later the two of them charge the paladin! Together they subdue the human, who slips to the ground, unconscious.
That was quick! What's next?
Henrick Bulwark |
"Can we snap him out of this?"
Henrick kicks the sword away from the paladin, not really sure what else to do. "Maybe someone should tie him up at least?"
GMG |
Dario and Maldrek know that the only sure way to end possession is to cast dispel magic or killing the possessed creature. Also the possessing creature is able to break the possession at will, snapping back to its own body if that is on the same plane or materializing in the vicinity if it has no body available.
I might have missed something here, if you think otherwise and it is import please correct me in the discussion thread
Henrick Bulwark |
"Um, will that mean it will start looking for a new host?"
Professor Dario Westone |
The Professor takes out a potion and force feeds it to the possessed Paladin once he's tied up. "This might keep him free of any mental control."
I think a Protection from Evil potion may work. It gives a new saving throw with a +2 and prevents any possession from controlling the target. He might still be possessed, but he'll free of the control for the minute that the potion lasts.

Skarn Moonbane |
"I have a scroll of warding as well." adds the prophet as he draws a scroll of protection from evil. "It's best used preventively, but it doesn't last long."
As his companions continue to argue over the best course of action, Skarn takes the tying matter in his own hands and wraps the possessed Pathfinder with his rope, making a tight knot.

But you can still roll knowledge Religion to see if you know anything about it

Taking a step back, he blesses his companions by bellowing a prayer to Groetus.
Prayer: You and each of your allies gain a +1 luck bonus on attack rolls, weapon damage rolls, saves, and skill checks, while each of your foes takes a –1 penalty on such rolls.
Professor Dario Westone |
"Surround it and attack with magic!" Dario points at the undead spirit. "Who are you?! What do you want?"
The Professor pulls a flask out of his bag.

Henrick thinks this is the undead form of one of the makers, ancient creatures said to have inhabited Golarion eons ago. This must be one of the builders of the gloomspires that died and rose as some kind of ghost. It is fairly resistant to magical attacks (SR19)
Skarn can't seem to remember anything about this creature. Dario gets a flask from his pack while giving some advice to his teammates. The creature does not react to the question asked in common.

Henrick takes an old fashioned approach, and steps up and swings with his +1 urgrosh axe blade.

Damage: 1d8 + 11 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 11 + 4 + 1 = 21
GMG |
Henrick's attack hits the creature, doing actual damage! As expected the magical nature of the urgrosh allows Henrick to actually hit the undead, although most of it is undone by the incorporeal nature of the fiend. The creature melts into the walls...
The pathfinders keep their guard up for a while, but the creature does not return.
Withdraw, out of combat
On the ground Ilzinian lies bound and unconscious.
Zavita |
Zavita reaches into the handy haversack and whispers "salt" under her breath. A second later a jar appears in her hand. She takes the jar to Ilzinian and pulls the stopper out of the top right under his nose.
Smelling salts
Celestial"Ilzinian, are you okay. A spirit was possessing you. We ending up purging it however we could not destroy it."
GMG |
Celestial"Why are we speaking in celestial? Don't you speak Taldane? Do all your companions understand us if we speak this tongue?"
"It was awfull! This creature had taken over my body! I could feel that it was doing things, but I could not exercise control or see anything! It was as if I was caught in a dark, soundless chamber and only remembering there is a world outside! I remember going in here. I came through this room and we entered the labyrinth again. After searching for some time we came to this exit. And there were the horrors! Two ancient creatures, old beyond time that had turned undead. I don't know any details about their abilities, but one was incorporeal and the other seemed to be some kind of floating skeleton with very sharp teeth."
He looks at you all
"If my body did things to you I will try to put that right. I hope you can forgive me for anything I did against you and put myself at your judgement. Can you tell me why you are here and what your plans are? If there is anything I can do to help, please tell me."
Zavita |
back to taldane
Zavita puts the cork back on the salts and puts them back in her bag. "We only used celestial, due to you only speaking in it." Zavita explains before brushing it aside. "It must of been the spirit. But no, you did not come to harm us, but you did force our hand which lead to you being knocked unconscious. As to why we are here, we were told to come look for you and your party. You have been missing for a while. We also were sent to retrieve the orb of stars, so we can set these towers in place for investigation. Do you remember seeing the orb?"
Zavita stops then remembers the spirit. "Oh...the thing we just fought, faded through the wall before we could destroy it. We could always use a holy warriors help in a fight against evil."
If needed, Zavita will use her wand to heal up the paladin
Professor Dario Westone |
"We're here to find you, Ilzinian. You and your group. Do you remember what happened to the rest of them? And of course, we need to find the Orb of Stars."
GMG |
Ilzinian heals himself through his lay on hands ability.
"One of my team died in a fight against an undead in one of the first room. We saw an eerie mist coming in through a crack in the wall and decided to quickly move on, not waiting to see what it would bring us. I remember talking to a ghost in this room. I promised to throw her urn into the sea on my way back."
He looks around for the urn "Did you see it? It stood there, right on the table?"
After Henrick has told him that you also made that promise he continues.
Through that door there was another section of labyrinth. It ended in a room with the ghostly undead and skeleton. I did not see the orb. Quickly after entering the room it all became dark for me. I guess I got possessed there. Can any of you protect us against possession? I do not wish this fate on anyone"
