Tarka eyes Guido. "We'kan asha umak hekal u'o shaka. Tela gotaka um eeto kalasha 'Katana'."
"You follow. I tell rest of tribe to stand back." she says, leading you to the door in the North wall of this chamber. The other Kobolds let you all pass, whispering among themselves. Tarka opens the other door and steps into the room on the other side and says in Draconic, "Mekaleka umal! Kobolda ekans! Hasala rokal indo jushi oldo! Kika uo himake. Uiko hashake elamanda!"
There is a commotion in the other room. When you enter, you see; this large room was once two, but the wall between them has been partially torn down, and the broken door now serves as a makeshift altar. The candles and strange statues that decorate it all face the dark alcove
beyond the broken wall. Four Kobolds are standing from kneeling positions before the altar.
A voice comes from the alcove.

DM_Goat |

The Sunrod tumbles through the air and lands among the Kobolds. There is a pause, then appearing, as if from nowhere, a smooth-skinned, hairless humanoid with penetrating eyes and skin that shifts and changes to mimic his surroundings. He replies to Anya in Draconic.
The Kobolds all look at Tarka, who gestures at them to stand aside. After a momentary hesitation, they do, and the Fire Speaker glares at them angrily and shouts at them in Draconic.
He gestures back to the statue behind him and speaks a word in another language.
A gout of flame erupts from the mouth of the statue and the Kobolds cringe.

![]() |

Fedorean, finally seeing the "Fire Speaker" puts his sword away and draws his crossbow and loads it and takes aim at the creature from across the room ready to shoot at the first opportunity. He yells across the room at the fire Speaker:
"Give up NOW, leave the Katana on the ground and leave this place and never return..or prepare to meet your end!!"

![]() |

Elian watches grimly as Anya throws the sunrod and when he sees the Fire Speaker he understands the title. His ever wandering gaze catches on the statue... Elian begins speaking quietly and suddenly his eyes take on a blue glow, similar to the way Anya's had earlier. He sweeps his gaze across the room once more before settling back on the statue.
Elian casts Detect Magic and will look for any auras in the room.

![]() |

Fedorean hearing the words that the "Fire Speaker" says, mimics him and yells the same word loud across the room!
Since i dont speak kelish, i am attempting to just mimic the same sounds as the fire speaker to see if i can make the statue shoot fire as well, thinking that if I can make it shoot, the kobolds will realize that hes a fake, i dont know if i need to make any kind of check for this action, if i do let me know

![]() |

Abasi looks sideways at Fedorean, then steps further into the room, and speaks loudly and clearly towards the Fire Speaker. His sword and shield are drawn. "You heard my elven friend. Give us the katana, leave the kobolds be, and there will be no violence today. If you refuse, we will have to attack. A regrettable outcome for both sides. Please, step aside."

DM_Goat |

Fedorean, make a Bluff, or Perform: Mimicry check.
The Fire Speaker sneers at you all. Speaking in Common for the first time, he says. "You come into my home making threats and you expect me to do what you want? You are just robbers!" He steps out from behind the altar as he speaks and stands with his hands held at the ready before him.

Drogan sees Anya speaking to the creature in her language. Then hears the creature speak in Taldane. Drogan translates that to Elian. Drogan looks at the creature to determine if it is undead, seeing how the ghoul was speaking to us as well.
Not being able to determine whether it is an unliving creature, Drogan steps forward to the creature and strikes.

With his shield and spear ready, Elian whispers to his gods in the Celestial tongue. His spear hand begins to glow white as he reaches out towards Abasi. When Elian's hand touches the fighter, the glow spreads to Abasi and he suddenly finds the pain from his wounds easing away!

Fedorean's bolt strikes the Fire Speaker (4 Damage).
Drogan's swing is off the mark as he is unable to figure out what this creature us exactly.
The Fire Speaker remains unmoved, however, and he seems to be readying himself once again, but for what, you can't tell.

As Guido surges forward, the Fire Speaker flicks his hands, casting a spell.
One of his hands reaches into a pouch at his belt and he hurls forth a handful of sand. The sand transforms into a spray of sparkling light that engulfs Guido and Drogan.
Will saves from Guido and Drogan please.
Abasi's swing is off center as he swerves to avoid the spray.

Halkale seizes the opportunity to move closer to the Kobolds, hoping they remain neutral, which also provides a nice lane to fire at the Fire Speaker.
Halkale fires his arrow directly at the midsection of the hairless humanoid, and he watches as the arrow flies true.

I don't have access to my laptop right now, but I want to keep moving. The Fire Speaker steps diagonally up and to the left, and Abasi steps in to the space he was just occupying.
Battered by Anya's spell and Halkale's arrow, the Fire Speaker steps back and pulls a vial from a pouch, then aims his fingers at Abasi, casting a spell.
A dart of translucent force slams into Abasi's chest.

Fedorean takes the opportunity to strike at a surrendering foe, and stabs him in the neck. The Fire Speaker falls on his back, bleeding heavily from his wounds. His skin takes on a grey, stone-like texture.
Tarka steps up and says something in Draconic to the other Kobolds, and they all cheer. Some are more enthusiastic than others, but the sentiment seems to be that Tarka is once again chief. She turns to you.
"Fire Speaker dead. You take his things and go in peace with Kobolds." she says, showing her teeth in a grin.
The Fire Speaker has two Potions, a mundane Dagger, a spell component pouch, a Spellbook and the Jade Katana.

Elian glares at Fedorean after he kills tbe Fire Speaker. Despite not being able to understand what was said, he understood the creature was surrendering. He uses the blunt end of his spear to jab Fedorean in the chest. "We do not kill surrendering foes. To kill an enemy in battle is one thing. To execute is another completely."
Elian walks awah from the rogue, but calls back over his shoulder. "I'll be watching you."

![]() |

Abasi leans over the Fire Speaker and takes the katana, and then turns to Fedorean. His mouth is turned down at the corners, and several hard lines have appeared on his forehead as his eyes narrow. "What in the world were you thinking? He surrendered. Are you that bloodthirsty? In what world would you find that action to be of reasonable thought? Or to put it in a way that you might understand - how did that benefit you?"
He turns to the others, not sparing the elf a second glance, and gestures with his head towards the exit. "We've found what we came for. Guido and Fedorean even got their trade agreements. Let's go."

![]() |

"No Im smart..that thing would have tried to kill us the second our back was turned..it had a chance to surrender and chose instead....to die..The way i see it i just saved your rear ends from having to fight it again later..or at the very least would have taken its anger out on these creatures..I just did you a favor.."
