Narrator

The straitjacket is badly damaged. But it still attacks Spugnoir.
Slam: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11

Noo! Flashback! No more leather straps!

Male Human Paladin of Sarenrae Lvl 17 (HP 100/155| AC:31 (33 Undead) (DR 3/-, 5/evil)| T: 17 (31 vs incorp) | FF: 31 (33 undead)| Fort:+22 | Ref:+18 | Will:+20 | Init + 3 | Perc + 16l

As he takes another swing at the jacket Grergof asks.
Is everything ok Mr. Spugnoir?

Scimitar (Str damage) - Power Attack + Furious Focus: 1d20 + 5 - 1 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 5 - 1 + 1 = 7
Damage (Str Damage) + Power Attack: 1d6 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 3 + 2 = 10

Oh and is this thing detecting evil or looking more like the manticles? Whatever case I would let the other two know.

Human Cleric 7 Exalted 4 / AC 23/*25, Touch 12, Flat 22 / HP 76/76 / Init +3 / Fort +10, Ref +5, Will +13 / Perception +8 / Channel Positive Energy (DC17/19) 3/7 Per Day *Spell Adjusted No's

Darius takes a swing at the jacket as well.

Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

Narrator

Confirm: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7

Darius hits the jacket really hard and slams it to the ground where it stays and doesn't move anymore.

Nothing of interest is found in this room and the next one (S13) is not interesting either. It is just an empty privy.

I really don't feel like using this. So..down the stairs?

Narrator

Going back to the corridor and opening the doors to the stairs downward it becomes clear that this is no possible path. This flight of stairs once led down toward what must be a lower level, but it’s now filled with a mess of large stone blocks and shattered timbers.

Knowledge Engineering DC 15:
The rubble filling this stairwell did not result from a ceiling collapse — rather, it’s the result of a manually triggered deadfall that swiftly filled the stairs and blocked them off.

Well there is the hole where the flying skulls came out of, are there stairs up? I might have gotten them mixed up.

Male Human Paladin of Sarenrae Lvl 17 (HP 100/155| AC:31 (33 Undead) (DR 3/-, 5/evil)| T: 17 (31 vs incorp) | FF: 31 (33 undead)| Fort:+22 | Ref:+18 | Will:+20 | Init + 3 | Perc + 16l

Let's go up first. I thought I saw something moving up there and I would prefer not to have something sneak up on our back if we need to retreat out of the lower level.

That is where we found the scythe right? So we best avoid that.

Human Cleric 7 Exalted 4 / AC 23/*25, Touch 12, Flat 22 / HP 76/76 / Init +3 / Fort +10, Ref +5, Will +13 / Perception +8 / Channel Positive Energy (DC17/19) 3/7 Per Day *Spell Adjusted No's

"Upstairs sounds good and Brother Grergof's logic is sound. Best not to have to defend ourselves from two fronts if we can help it." And with that Darius moves over to the other set of stairs heading up.
As he heads up the stairs he listens and keeps an eye out for any signs of movement.

Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26

Natural 20 woohoo!!

Narrator

The stairs lead up to a rotten double door. It opens on a hard push. Opposing the door is a wall. To the right there is an open area with a table and benches. To the left you see a small area that is separated from the rest of the floor by bars.

Darius:
As you open the door you hear the silent flapping of leathery wings to the right before everything falls silent again.

Grergof walks to the benches.

(3 points Con damage)

Ack! Spugnoir runs over to help and whacks at a stirge
Morning star: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 161d8 ⇒ 4

Narrator

Spugnoir whacks the stirge good. But not good enough.

Darius misses both, Grergof and the stirges. Grergof kills one of them spilling his own blood over the floor.

The remaining two continue to suck Grergof's blood out.
(two more points of Con damage)

Spugnoir keeps whacking at a stirge

Note: Stat line updated to reflect all ability damage. This encounter sucked... literally.

Narrator

Finally the last stirge is reduced to splat. But Grergof doesn't look good. He is a bit pale in the face and he and his clothes could use a bath.

(That lesser restoration potions are not given for nothing :)

"Grergof! Are you okay? Let me have a look at those wounds. Those things were bad news. But wait. Didn't Vesorianna say something about one of the inmates having a connection to Stirges? Anyway nevermind that for now. Take this..."
Darius hands Grergof one of the vials that the group relieved earlier.

Potion of Lesser Restoration. Who wants to roll for it. Wait, does someone roll to see how many points Grergof gets back?

Male Human Paladin of Sarenrae Lvl 17 (HP 100/155| AC:31 (33 Undead) (DR 3/-, 5/evil)| T: 17 (31 vs incorp) | FF: 31 (33 undead)| Fort:+22 | Ref:+18 | Will:+20 | Init + 3 | Perc + 16l

Lesser Restoration: 1d4 ⇒ 3

"Yes. I've seen one once before. They are nasty things. Lets keep an eye out. There may be more of them." Darius warns as he stands and gets ready, sword drawn and Siphon in his other hand just in case.

With his back to the wall Darius moves north and peeks around the corner, wary of any new surprises.

Peeks around at area T2

Stealth: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (6) - 2 = 4

Stealth is clearly not his strong suit.

Narrator

Wooden benches once lined this large hall, but several are now stacked in a jumble and others are overturned in disarray. Weakened by fire, the entire east wall has collapsed away, creating an unintended entryway to a wooden deck beyond. The view of the lake beyond would be beautiful if the silence were not so eerie.

Nothing else living or undead is found in this corner.

(As an information: You can leave the building here onto the balcony R7 on the harrowstone premises map)

Takes out the wand of Lesser Restore and taps Gregof with it
Restore: 1d4 ⇒ 4

Umm..would that wooden deck lead to where we fought the scythe? We should avoid that spot. How about the double doors? T5

Narrator

Spugnoir takes a look through the double doors. Once a kitchen, this room is now nothing more than charred, blackened remains.

Narrator

It is the opposite balcony. Not the one with the scythe.

Let us head south towards the barred areaT1

Male Human Paladin of Sarenrae Lvl 17 (HP 100/155| AC:31 (33 Undead) (DR 3/-, 5/evil)| T: 17 (31 vs incorp) | FF: 31 (33 undead)| Fort:+22 | Ref:+18 | Will:+20 | Init + 3 | Perc + 16l

Ahh, Much better, Thank you for the healing Mr. Spugnoir!

Before he leaves the bench area Grergof takes a look around to see if anything remains in the area.
Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16

After searching the area Grergof looks into the kitchen scanning the area for clues and Evil.
I wonder if the fire started here? It seems more burned out then the rest of the prison.

As Spugnoir turns away Grergof says:
Dont we want to check that far door? pointing at the door at the other side of the kitchen.

Bet ya a copper there is a haunted side of beef in there.

Human Cleric 7 Exalted 4 / AC 23/*25, Touch 12, Flat 22 / HP 76/76 / Init +3 / Fort +10, Ref +5, Will +13 / Perception +8 / Channel Positive Energy (DC17/19) 3/7 Per Day *Spell Adjusted No's

"It's probably just a pantry but I want to be sure. Cover me." Darius says as he slowly walks through the kitchen. Minding where he steps, careful not to disturb anything he makes his way to the back door. Sheathing his blade so he has a freehand he then reaches for the door. Siphon ready in his other hand just in case a haunt decided to rear its ugly head.

Boo!

Narrator

Darius is right. It is just a pantry.
(And no. The fire seems to have started below in the basement. Where the hole in the ground leads down. It was not the cooks fault :)

Moving to the barred area after checking the pantry. This guard area is blocked from the cellblock by an arc of iron bars. Within sits an old wooden table and a few chairs. there is one (locked) door that leads into that area and two more that lead out at the back wall inside the area.

Spugnoir examines and tinkers with the doors.
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20

Grergof moves to carefully check out the balcony.

Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20

Oh in case I need to state it explicitly, I am looking for evil as well.

Narrator

From the balcony you have a nice view over he premises and over Ravengro.

Grergof:

Darius searches the barred area.

Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13

"Hey Gergof, any clues out there on the balcony? Great job on the door Spugs, you're getting good at this. Notice anything peculiar around here?"

Narrator

There is nothing besides the table and chairs in that area.

Male Human Paladin of Sarenrae Lvl 17 (HP 100/155| AC:31 (33 Undead) (DR 3/-, 5/evil)| T: 17 (31 vs incorp) | FF: 31 (33 undead)| Fort:+22 | Ref:+18 | Will:+20 | Init + 3 | Perc + 16l

Grergof carefully steps back off the balcony.
Don't go out there. The whole thing is ready to collapse.
Shall we move on?

To the east then. T6

Narrator

Here are a quite a few cell blocks with locked doors and some of them with skeletons wearing orange prison clothing inside. But they seem all rather dead. And not undead.

West. T7

Narrator

Spugnoir unlocks and opens the door. Although this cell is rather spacious, it contains no concessions to comfort. A skeletal body dressed in the rotting remains of a prisoner’s robe lies slumped against the eastern wall, wrapped in numerous chains on which are affixed numerous weights emblazoned with several different holy symbols.
