Savarend Whiteroot
"That's an excellent idea, lass!" Savarend redirects the blessing to Moira's blade.
He stands up and gives a satisfied grunt as her weapon shines with soft light. He turns to the magic sword - the one that's not on their side - holds up his gauntleted hand in a warning gesture. "Hear me, possessed artifice! You are in the presence of a Forgemaster of Moradin! If you dare raise arms against me or my comrades, you will incur the wrath of the All-Maker. Behold!" Savarend bends to the floor and touches his hand to a stone tile...
1d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6 Artificer's Touch. Ignore 5 hardness.
...and with a crackling sizzle the tile is shattered. He stands slowly, holding up his open palm. "At my touch, little blade, wood is splintered, stone is cracked, and metal is warped and brittle. I promise you, little blade, if you raise arms against us that you will feel the sting of my touch, again and again, until you are fit for naught but pig iron. Your body will be ground into the dust to be trodden upon by men and cattle. We will sing songs of your defeat, and raise glasses to your victorious enemies." He lowers his hand of warning. "Or you can surrender, and I promise you fair treatment. It is your choice."

Will DC16: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (7) - 1 = 6
Going to assume that Lucid dumps the wizardy guy with the chatty rapier. Map: Red guy tripped, yellow guy held, blue guy fine.
The commoners fall back at the scene of violence and move to open the door to flee.
2d4 ⇒ (4, 3) = 7
From his back, the elf pull out a scroll and starts to read it. AoO if you want it Lucid The sword at his hip begins talking to Lucid in a reasonable tone, "Come now, let's not be too hasty. I think everyone should just take a step back and why to we talk about this like reasonable people." Lucid DC12 will save please
Will save 2: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (4) - 1 = 3 Nope
The remaining guard steps up to watch over his prone ally, drawing a glittering short sword. This sword too calls out to you all, in a throaty and amused female voice, "Mmm yes, why don't you fine fellows just toss that filthy little Oquon knife into one of these pools. Trust me, you don't need a friend like that."
Everyone is up.

soooo... Lucid = Justified? lol
As a second silvery blade is drawn, Graythan focuses his gaze on its bearer and draws on Tyr's power a second time.

Sorry but I am somewhat confused. First Lucid is my character in your other game. :) You posted after midnight so I can see how that happens. Second, not sure what the first or second will save is for. If the second one is for Justified I need to know the effect IF the spell goes off after the AOOs. Third, of course I want to take an AOO. lol. And last I am unsure who is what character on the map. Is yellow guy the elf and the person Justified tripped? if so he should be back 5 feet as the trip happened at 10' range. So, who is tripped and who is adjacent to Justified? and its the tripped person that is both retrieves a scroll (which provokes) and read a scroll (which also provokes, resulting in two AOOs from Justified if I understand the rules correctly.
AOO from pulling scroll: 1d20 + 10 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 10 + 4 = 171d10 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16
AOO from reading scroll: 1d20 + 10 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 10 + 4 = 261d10 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9 Concentration check needed to successfully read scroll while taking damage?
Bronwenir
I think it's all the PCs' turn now.
Bron charges up to Justified's side, swirling his bladed scarf above his head and summoning a crackling charge of electricity.
Casting Shocking Grasp and moving up to the guy with the shoanti icon.
attack: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 11
His scarf glances off his target's armor.

Sorry for the confusion
1. As Justified mentioned, Lucid is his PC in another game I run. Brain fart on my part.
2. Yellow is held, (Will save was for Graythan's Hold person)
3. Red is on his butt.
4. I believe that 2 AoOs is correct.
5. Justified has killed the mage
Will DC16: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (10) - 1 = 9
Red is dead. Yellow and blue are held
Moira and Savarend may act.

The non-combatants that had gathered to witness the ceremony, flee through the door leading to the bath room. The rapier scream at them as they run away, "Come back you cowards!! Wield me!! You with the spear. Pick me up! It's not too late. You can be more than an Oquon puppet. Together we can stop them before they take control of Sassarine."
The short sword held in the rigid hands of its wielder adds, "You should listen to the Czarina. She speaks the truth. You don't know who you're getting involved with.'
Saberhawk snarls in Moira's hand, "Shut your gobs. We're finally going to put an end to your meddling once and for all. Now tell me what have you done with Hoardcutter!"
Will save DC16: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (15) - 1 = 14
Will save DC16: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (11) - 1 = 10
Both remaining combats still held. Everyone is up.

Forgive me, but I have forgotten who we face. Do they deserve mercy, or would Justified think they should be put down?
Asking his companions Justified quickly asks These threatened our lives. Mercy or a quick death?
coup de grace on the standing one: 3d10 + 39 ⇒ (6, 9, 6) + 39 = 60
Tired of the talking blades and not truly sure if anyone needs killing Justified strikes at the man holding the short sword, doing non-lethal damage. Not sure I really even need to roll to hit as they are helpless. That is a Dex of zero
+1 glaive-guisarme: 1d20 + 10 - 4 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 10 - 4 + 4 = 201d10 + 13 ⇒ (3) + 13 = 16
I could have easily killed you with that blow. Surrender and live.
Graythan Fist
Seeing the second brute go slack under the power of his spell, Graythan slips a set of finely wrought manacles free from his pack and darts over, handing them to Bronwenir. "Mercy, Justified. We've some questions yet, I think. Here, Bron, do you mind binding one before he shakes free? Maybe we can get some answers as to what exactly's going on here." He eyes the other bodyguard, knowing he's still fully aware. "We only need one of you though. If you'd prefer to cooperate once your body is your own again, I'm certain you'll be the happier for it."

Bron's hands are still surrounded by swirling charges of lightning. "I need to discharge this before I touch anything. However, perhaps I should discharge it on these miscreants!" He stares threateningly at the held prisoners.

Ugh, I've been so f&*!ing lazy with this game. Sorry about the pace guys, I will try to do better.
Hand wave combat over. Assuming you are letting the non-combatants flee.
You manage to restrain both of the magically held men before the spells wear off. All the while, the Czarina(the Rapier) and the Lady Akanara (short sword) tell you are making a terrible mistake. Saberhawk repeatedly shouts at the Czarina as to the location of his ally, but on that topic, she is silent.
2 scrolls of transmute mud to rock, 2 scrolls of stone shape. Emerald earring (250gp)
Graythan Fist
As the blades continue to shout and bicker, Graythan's jaw tightens before he growls, "If you all don't stop talking over one another right now, I'm going to throw all three of you into this mudhole and seal you inside."
Intimidate: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (11) + 13 = 24
Glowering, he lines the rapier and short sword by the edge of the mudpool and nods to Moira, the gesture inviting her to lay Saberhawk beside the other two chatty swords. (in case Moira, or anyone else really, would care to aid another)
"We are going to take turns explaining what's going on here. If any of you interrupt, into the mud you go. I trust we're clear? Before that though," he taps the Czarina with the toe of his boot, "you're going to answer Saberhawk and explain what's happened to Hoardcutter."
Moira Greyshadow
Moira smiles towards Graythan and says, "I like the way you think Mr. Fist."
"Well, Saberhawk, I don't have a sentimental attachment to you so I could let you go into the mud." Moira places Saberhawk down to the edge of the mud pit. "One at a time....answer my friend's questions. He is not bluffing."
GM Fanguar
Will Graythan 1: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (14) + 10 = 24
Will Graythan 2: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (14) + 10 = 24
Will Moira: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10
"What are you doing fool?" Both swords yell at Graythan as he moves them to the mud pool. Each time he feels a mental tug trying to get him to stop, but he easily forces it away.
Moira moves to comply with Graythan's request, but suddenly feels herself compelled to stop. She finds herself holding Saberhawk at the ready and backing away from the rest of the party. Failed an EGO check.
Saberhawk speaks, "You all seem like nice enough people, but I wont let you put me in that pit. I doubt I would be stuck there long before I was freed, as this little stunt will be the talk of the city soon enough and Oquon ears are everywhere. Still, why go through the bother. Now if you want to kick in those Cabanite scum, be my guest, and we can pretend that you weren't trying to double cross your old friend Saberhawk. Maybe root around in there while you're at it, I wouldn't be surprised if that was where Hoardcutter is."
The gloating voice of the Czarina rises up from the floor, "Now you see the true face of the enemy. We got off on the wrong foot. I can't forgive you murdering my wielder, you can forgive my harsh tones earlier."
Yes this confusing. Yes, it is supposed to be confusing. It will all make sense soon.
Graythan Fist
Graythan kicks the short sword into the mud then squats down beside the rapier. "I'm not playing, I didn't care for your earlier tone, and I don't care for your present one either. Saberhawk can have Moira for now. He won't for long. Your prospects are much worse at present, wouldn't you say?" Graythan's voice is smooth as velvet and razor sharp. "My patience is ended, Cabanite." He moves to toss her in after the short sword, but slowly enough to give her a chance to stay his hand with answers.
GM Fanguar
In the future, if you want to initiate combat actions, out of combat, just throw in an initiative roll in your post as well. Thanks.
Initiative Justified: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12
Initiative Moira: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Saberhawk clangs to the ground at Moira's feet. She blinks her eyes, free of the sword's influence. "Well, shit." The sword mutters.
The rapier just laughs, "Oh no! Don't throw me in the mud in the spa that I own and use my own dastardly plan against me. How ever will my allies be able to find me? I might be down there for whole hours. Well done, by the way, in crossing both the Cabanites and Oquons. I'm not sure anyone has done that before. Anyways, I tire of this. If you don't want to be part of the winning team, then please just toss me in and let's be done with it."
Bronwenir
Bron has been listening to all of this for a while, getting more and more frustrated, and his pale face developing a flush of anger. Finally he loses his temper and bellows, "WHAT F+@~ING TEAMS? You blasted bits of CUTLERY better start talking or the mud pit is the LEAST of your problems! We will turn you to SLAG if we feel it necessary, which is the least that you over-sharpened butterknives deserve!"
He breathes heavily for a moment, then scowls, growling, "We need to know exactly who the Cabanites and Oquons are, and what this feud was that cost a man's life."
He turns to his companions and mutters, "I am getting the impression that we were duped into being pawns in a quarrel between the unnatural spirits that infuse these weapons, and I am sick of it."
Justified*

Initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Justified brings his blade down on thin blade of the rapier attempting to damage it.
Sunder: 1d20 + 10 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 10 + 4 = 181d1 + 13 ⇒ (1) + 13 = 14
I will break you where you lay if you speak to us again in that manner. I do not bluff.
GM Fanguar
Saberhawk: "Hey, hey, heeyyy. Watch it with that thing. The Cabanites are a criminal organization devoted to controlling Sassarine's merchants. They are the bad guys."
Czarina: "Please, we're a legitimate business. The Oquon's are nothing more than a filthy thieves' guild trying to control the docks district. They don't want the competition. And really, how dare you take that tone with me. You were the ones who broke into a private business and murdered a man. Sartanis wasn't much of a mage, but I'm sure his family is going to be rather upset at his death. Such a promising young man. Struck down in the prime of life. The tragedy of it all brings a tear to my eye."
Savarend Whiteroot
Savarend has been very, very quiet during this exchange. It confuses him on a deep level. The very existence of a talking weapon is something of legend among his people, but to have a group of them together! - arguing with each other! It is simply too much. "I think... It is hard to think. I think we should take them to a temple. Some god of truth or inquisitors or something. Let them find the heart of the matter and dispense justice. I'm so done with these things."
Justified*
|
The caster tried to pull a scroll so Justified hit him for 16. Then he tried to read the scroll so Justified hit him for 9 more. If he was still up after the first hit, even staggered and at zero then the second hit should not have killed him. He would have to have a con of 8 or less I think. Note no power attack was used.
Graythan Fist
After scrutinizing the bound bodyguards and the various blades, Graythan brings the others together in a huddle to discuss. "I sense no wickedness within Saberhawk or the bodyguards there, but these other swords, these Cabanites reek with it. Saberhawk's friend, Hoardcutter, may be submerged in the mud already and, if so, he has the same stink as these other two swords." He shrugs, looking to each of his allies in this, "I'm at a loss as to how to best proceed here. Any thoughts?"
Moira Greyshadow
Moira listens to Graythan and says, "Hmmm...thanks Graythan."
Moira moves and grabs Saberhawk. She holds it up to her face and says, "OK now..... What happens when we find Hoardcutter? What do you think we should do with it and these other talking swords?"
Graythan Fist
Graythan pulls Justified back from the mud. "I know you mean well, but we don't need either of the weapons in there taking you the way Saberhawk took Moira a minute ago. I'm not even sure either should be fished out at all, but if need be, let me do the fetching. There are some... benefits, to my parentage, after all." His eyes flash in the interior light at this.
