What do you guys think, should I retrain out of my archtype? I'd lose a point of damage (when I've taken 1 burn) but otherwise gain benefits including an overall damage boost in the long term. Or keep the archtype?
Also, Improved Initiative or Weapon Finesse?

![]() |

Feat: That depends on whether you want to go first or do more damage. Looking at your stats, I would worry about initiative order later, and take weapon finesse.
Archetype: That really depends on you and your interpretation of your character and how you feel she is working out mechanically.
Everyone: Really, it has been fun playing with yall. Gm, much respect for a well done game.

Yeah it has. Sure I got too busy with this for some other PbP I'm in. But this was awesome.
Weapon Finesse would be entirely so I can use dex to hit with kinetic blade (and kinetic whip later, I think). One reason I don't actually use kinetic blade much right now is the burn cost requiring me to gather power. The other half is that I get a +1 total to hit due to having strength 6. It's always been my intention to take improved init at some point. Original level 1 build had it, and I liked having +9 to init. I'd just needed to put it off when I switched from human to kitsune so I could have Point Blank Shot at level 1.
But there's possibly better things for me to take then weapon finesse. Can't think of them off hand though.

Thanks everyone for playing! We were one of the top tables in terms of posting frequency, so thank you for attention and good play. Because of that, you were able to experience all of the scenario except for a showdown with Lady Arodeth herself.
For those of you who have never experienced a special before, I hope you weren't put off by the frantic nature of rushing around and having combat after combat. It's kind of the nature of the beast, and I think this particular one, they tried to put in a bit more role-play and skill checks than usual.
Make sure to roll your day jobs and PM me your email. I will try to get chronicles out by late tomorrow. If you would like the totals for this scenario it will be 1 XP, 2 prestige and 1,250 gp.
You will also receive the following boons on the chronicle:
Azlanti Wonders: While interviewing the Azlanti general Krahnaliara Lac Suhn, you learned the location of an Azlanti site that might have survived millennia or tragedy and looting. When you adventure in a ruin, archaeological site, or other structure that predates Earthfall (approximately 10,000 years ago, including more Azlanti and Thassilonian sites), you can cross this boon off your Chronicle sheet and choose two of the following: AC, attack rolls, saving throws, or skill checks. For the duration of the adventure while you are exploring the site, you gain a +1 insight bonus on the selected rolls or to your Armor Class.
Defender of Time: You boldly stood against an unceasing horde of time-knitted duplicates afforded your companions the chance to defeat Lady Arodeth, and your bravery attracts members of the Harbingers of Fate with courage and reliability to join the Pathfinder Society. You may use this boon when making a new Pathfinder Society character to grant your new character one of the following as a bonus trait: courageous, indomitable faith, or resilient.
Timelost Chronicler: You have journeyed through the ancient serpentfolk city of Sessegishoss and witnessed the fall of the Starstone, granting you a remarkable perspective of Golarion’s history. You gain a permanent +1 bonus on Knowledge (history) checks from your first-hand knowledge. Once per scenario you may call on the nascent power granted by your exposure to the falling Starstone to find inner greatness, granting you a +1 morale bonus to a single d20 roll. You must declare your use of this power before the roll is made.
By rolling a 3, you will get:
Player Boon #3: The Grenadier alchemist. I will let the overseer know and it will also be emailed to you.

Oh GM Erich, I've decided to spend 6 prestige to buy the Information Brokerage prestige award. Could you list that on my chronicle?

True Vrog, but my bite attack in natural form (and new cestus otherwise) does let me threaten. Not a very effective attack, to be sure. But it does allow me to threaten. And kinetic whip does threaten when it's used. Kineticists look to be rather effective in melee since kinetic blade/whip uses full blast damage without elemental overflow. So at level 5 I do 3d6+2 electric damage. Plus the ability to full attack if you have multiple attacks. For example, at level 9 a maximized empowered thundering kinetic blade (ouch that's a lot of burn to mitigate) would hit for 47 damage and a DC 18 fort save or be deafened... per attack in the full attack.
Course, I couldn't pay for that as an overwhelming soul and do a full attack. But an empowered kinetic blade full attack, I could (once per day). It has the potential to be fairly nasty low strength melee build. Light armor's the biggest drawback IMO. It's kinetic fist which is rather lackluster IMO since it's got low damage dice compared to blasts and kinetic blade/whip, and is an unarmed attack. Thus kinda dangerous to use without improved unarmed attack.

Vrog Skyreaver |

I definitely agree that kinetic fist is garbage most of the time. There is a build the combines kinetic fist and elemental fist plus an AoMF with merciful or vicious on it to spew out some heinous damage.
I don't melee all that much with my Telekineticist. If I end up in melee, I just eat the AoO(s) and move out.
I would suggest that you should at least consider retraining your archetype, but I'm guessing you're not that invested in Constitution. Are you staying Aero at 7 or are you going to multi-element? That should probably help decide what you're going to focus on, as it's probably the first real turning point as a kineticist.

I am having trouble figuring out how to PM GM Erich. I went to the profile of the gold compus icon and there is no "send private message" button. If anyone can explain better I would appreciate it. Thanks.

If you click on his name, a page appears with this in the top left corner:
GM Erich's page
245 posts. Alias of Thereus, Silver Crusader.
Send Private Message. Add to Address Book.
Click on the Send Private Message and you should be good. I cant think of a reason why that wouldn't be there..

No, gonna pick up water soon as I can. BOth so I can get the water elemental defense and so I can make full use of the weather control wild talent. Still undecided on kinetic healing since I can only spend an extremely small amount of burn per day on utility talents with my archtype.
And yeah, 12 con right now. Which is why my damage drops if I remove the archtype. I could mitigate that, but only by devoting all my stat points into con while leveling and buying a +con belt. Which admittedly, I plan to get anyway.

![]() |

True, not always wise... but always an option. Just looked up Weather Manipulation, apparently it's available at level 16, so Kahel would probably be retired by then. Still I like to build for level 20, and Kahel's leveling plan in general is Air>Expanded-Water>Expanded-fire. That gives a nice range of ability options, and allows full functionality from weather manipulation. I plan on getting the Water simple blast at 7. This will provide a bludgeoning attack as a backup, and let me take the charged water composite blast.
Side note: Holy carp, did you know most (if not all) air utility talents at base have no burn cost? Even Weather Manipulation has no burn cost.

![]() |

The good water and fire utility powers do have burn costs. Sometimes prohibitively high ones.

Game has been reported and chronicles have been sent to you. Let me know if there are any issues. I will close this campaign forum this weekend.
(Kahel, let me know if you haven't received your boon from the overseer GM within a week or so.)
Thanks again for playing!
