Hello everyone! We will start shortly.
Before we start, please post the following:
PFS #
Day job roll (if applicable)
Initiative
Perception
Thanks! Also please be sure to check in to the Gameplay thread if you haven't already.
EndlessForms
We may have a bit of a slow start because I am leaving this afternoon for Florida, where our lab will be harvesting one of our corn plots for a few days. I'm hoping the hotel has wifi but even if it does I'll likely be dead by the end of the day so posting will be slower than usual.
Torean Spellbane
|
PFS #: 1142-4
Faction: Grand Lodge
Craft, Blacksmithing: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Initiative: +3
Perception: +6
Torean's built to withstand any magic spell and smash people with his hammer.
EndlessForms
By the way, Parts 2 and 3 of this series will be released over the next two months so if the timing works out right and if everyone is on board I'll try to keep this group together for the whole series.
Magabeus
I have a brand new lvl 1 tengu wizard (charms) and a lvl 2 inquisitor (melee) available (and a lvl 4 magus after next Wednesday). How are we doing with muscle and what tier is everyone?
Magabeus
So far we have:
mechaPoet: Kineticist (Earth) 1
Signboy77: Sorceres 2
Enchanter Tim: Inquisitor 3
BoldStrider Monk/Sorcerer 4 / Ftr 1 / Ftr 4
Tektite: archaeologist/mysterous stranger/picaroon 3
Seeing this spread (and checking Cyrinda's skills) I have decided to go with Ambassador Sharpclaw, Tengu wizard 1 and skilled diplomat (and some say an accomplished liar)

PFS ID: 24861-10
Faction: Liberty's Edge
Day Job: Profession (Sailor): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
Initiative: +1
Perception: +7
Dustwich

I just GM'd a game on Friday night, and since we haven't officially started I think it's okay if I apply that credit to Dustwich and bump them up to a Kineticist 2.
PFS # 52949-5
Day Job: none
Initiative: +3
Perception: +8

Intro post is up!
Are we missing anyone? Everyone ready to go?
Once the rest of you decide which character to play, remember to post your info requested above! Thanks!

By my calculations:
Ambassador Sharpclaw 1
Cyrinda Wix 2
Dustwich 2
Torean Spellbane 3
Jocephus Celestrum 4
Bold Striker X
Even if you played a level 5 character, our APL would hit a maximum of 2.83, which rounds to in-between tiers, right?
I'm comfortable with either tier, but I think I would put more stock in what the Wizard 1 and Sorceress 2 have to say, since I would think that they're most vulnerable.

If we play in high tier I will switch to my lvl2 oread inquisitor. Your call Bold Strider
Myrd Sharpclaw
|
No call from Bold strider, so staying with Myrd
Myrd Sharpclaw

Then I did not check well enough...
EndlessForms
Just double-checking:
Torean (level 3)
Myrd (level 1)
Dustwich (level 2)
Cyrinda (level 2)
Jocephus (level 4)
Carlyle (level 1)
3 + 1 + 2 + 2 + 4 + 1 = 13/6 = 2.2 low tier!

Nobody panic, but I changed my avatar! In case you were wondering "who is this rando posting in our PbP???" Found one that suits Dustwich better. The other one was a bit too happy.
EndlessForms
By the way, Part II of this series will be released tomorrow. I plan to run it with this same group after we finish Part I and by the time we finish Part II the third installment will have been released so we'll just keep the same group together for the whole three-part arc.

Hey there, folks! I just wanted to chime in to say that you're the first group I've seen try to be diplomatic with the kobolds! I love that tack, and I thought I'd share a little design insight on that part of the scenario.
So in building the final encounter, knowing the kobolds would all begin at a hostile attitude (precluding Diplomacy) I intentionally designed something of a Catch-22. Amersanus basically calls out the "murder hobo" tradition in all but name, yet the Pathfinders wind up forced into a situation with no diplomatic approach. It's a little bit of situational irony (and one your Tengu called out) that is an underlying theme in the scenario. There's a lot of "damned if you do, damned if you don't" moments on both the NPC and PC side of the story that, I think, has some really great catharsis and payoff in parts 2 and 3.
I'm excited to see your group continuing on to Kaava quarry next, I think you'll really dig the scenarios as a whole. This story is one best experienced all together :)
Thanks for playing :D
EndlessForms
Thanks for the insight! It's been a great scenario so far. And you're the second author to pop in on one of my scenarios here in the past couple weeks. I love it when the authors follow along to see how things go. I've also had an author sit in on my table at GenCon and an AP author checked in on our Shattered Star game here on the boards.
Wait, let me see if this works:
Cast Summon Mike Shel!
It's a 1-round spell casting time so it might take a bit. Let's hope I don't take damage and lose concentration.
EndlessForms
I'm always at GenCon but being a midwesterner PaizoCon is just too far for me. But for a few years I lived in Bloomington, only 45 minutes from Indy for GenCon. It was great.

Watch your words! I am nobody's Tengu!
Nice of you to drop in Robert, I like that the kobold's attitude is intentional and not a "let's drop a combat here" thing.

That had to cost you a pretty penny. I'm everywhere!

Thanks!
Everyone else: please let me know if you change level, init, or perception. If you say nothing I will assume they stay the same.
Those of you with Day Jobs can roll a new one if you wish.
I'll put the introduction to Part II up tomorrow most likely.

No changes
One purchase: wand of infernal healing for 2 PP
Day Job - Profession (Sailor): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22
Torean Spellbane

No changes for Torean. I didn't expect the tie in with the dwarves, but it make it more fun to play him.
Craft, Blacksmithing: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12

Cantrip cast on a bottle cap. Sorry. ; )

No change in the stats you asked about, but just to let you know, Dustwich has picked up a Cloak of Resistance +1 in between scenarios. Perhaps they got it from the gripplis. :D

How can the kineticist use the oil of magic weapon? Your weapon disappears after every use.

I was planning on keeping it around for my back up dagger in case we run in to anything with DR/magic. I should probably get a sling, though...

Kinetic Blast counts as magic for purposes of DR, in case you didn't know. This was stated in the Kineticist thread.
