Going to take a chance that can either kill us or save us
Seeing Ana fall and stabbed repeatedly, and noting the goblins avoiding counterattacks, Xeni takes a risk uttering a spell and gesturing in a sweeping arc as the entire area erupts in wild growth, grasses and roots bursting from the ground to grab hold of everything.
Cast entangle DC 14 Reflex. An entangled creature moves at half speed, cannot run or charge, and takes a –2 penalty on all attack rolls and a –4 penalty to Dexterity. An entangled character who attempts to cast a spell must make a concentration check (DC 15 + spell level) or lose the spell.

As long as you remain in the entangled area, you have to make a reflex save at the end of your turn. And the area is considered difficult terrain.
The grass and weeds around the cathedral square spring up, wrapping themselves around the goblins, the wagon and Ana. The warchanter attempts to break free.

After wriggling around for a bit, the goblin manages to break free.

So is the general consensus that after the 1st round, the caster is also subject to Entangle?
Moving around the table, past Ana's fallen body, Xeni raises her staff, brining it down in a vicious strike at the goblin war chanter.

The entangling grass returns to its normal state and Father Zantus rushes over. "Thank you for all your help."
He notices that most of the party is wounded and unleashes two waves of healing power.

She lets out a sigh of relief as she feels her wounds close up and the warmth of the healing energy engulfs her. Looking up at him she says, "You're welcome, thank you for the healing. How bad is it? I mean the town?"

Father Zantus shakes his head. "We were overrun! I don't know how this could have happened?"
The sounds of battle continue on in the distance and the group can see many dead goblins among a few unlucky citizens. The priest sighs. "I can't do much more than I already have, my healing power is spent. It seems like most of the fighting has died down though."

Without even hesitating she asks, "What can we do to help?" She thinks about the lovely older couple that helped her out at their shop, and Ameiko at the Rusty Dragon, she hoped that she was alright.

Picking herself up, the Half-Orc dusted herself off before putting her axe away.

Too many have died already. I know it was a tough fight, but we can't just let them run around hurting and killing innocent people...I just can't."
