Chavana Haoul |

As they pick their way through, Chavana says a few short prayers to Milani, hoping the Goblins found enlightenment for their horrible ways as she moves through the brambles.
She also keeps a watchful eye for any of the bodies not actually being dead.

Gelgish walks back to the group, less wary of his surroundings but with more of a frown than usual. They've rigged the bridge to fall on both sides. I could fix it, but not unless I was on the other side too. At a loss for ideas, the dwarf looks at his companions to see what thoughts they might have.
@GM: was there any other ways we saw to get over to the other side of the bridge?

![]() |

"Can you fix at least this side? That way if it gives way it will swing rather than plummet. Then perhaps the weight of just you can cross to fix the other side?"

![]() |

@GM: Would the bridge hold Gelgish's weight if he fixed our side of it and then crossed?

GM Dak |

Would need a Know.Engineering to know the weight. Depending on when they set the trap, you remember at least a few goblins crossed the bridge at one time yesterday. Also, just to clarify the bridge wouldn't come completely undone. Essentially the left side of the bridge on both sides of the divide appear rigged to release if enough weight is on there cause it to spill anyone on down into the water. The right side of the bridge seems as though it would stay connected.
For swimming yes, it is possible, but then you would also have to climb up the rock face. It is about 80 ft down from where you are.

![]() |

@GM: Ah, so if Gelgish fixed the bridge on our side, then even if his weight triggered the bridge to release on the other side, it would only be the left side support. If I'm right on this, and Gelgish would know the side would release, could he still traverse the rest of the bridge? If so, then the only concern is if the archers are out...

Prior to returning to the group, Gelgish kept a sharp eye out for any goblin archers visible either in front of the fort or in the towers. Once comfortable none would see him, the dwarf worked to disable the trap and repair the bridge on the near side. He then returned to the group to report his findings. Afterward he said, I can work my way across and fix the other side if no goblins are watching, sound good?

![]() |

"Very well, I will remain back with Chavana."

![]() |

Alright, let's go, the dwarf says in his usual no-nonsense style before heading back to the bridge with Darpan. After first ensuring the near side of the bridge is secure, and that no goblins are currently in sight on the far side, Gelgish slowly makes his way across the bridge, where he busies himself repairing the far side. Afterward, he will head back across the bridge to his companions and report in.

DD-G: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 15
DD-G: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26
Gelgish takes his time getting across the bridge with no incident and works on securing the bridge. Checking his work he feels confident that the bridge should now hold with no incident.

![]() |

After securing the bridge, Gelgish gave an all clear sign to Darpan before walking back across. Arriving back with the party, he said work's done, let's go to no one in particular. When the rest of ready, Gelgish travels with the group to the bridge, and assuming no goblins are immediately sighted heads across the bridge with the party.

Ulrich has his polearm to hand as he crosses the bridge.

GM Dak |

The group makes their way across the bridge with no issue, now on the goblins island. Ahead is stockade made of thick wood. Closer inspection reveals that most of the wood seems to have been scavenged from ships—a few nameplates remain affixed to some of the beams, while other timbers look like they might have once been masts. The large double doors stand closed before you.

![]() |

"Well they trapped the bridge, Gelgish lets examine these doors as well."
Perception Aid Another on Gelgish: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16

![]() |

Gelgish scans the wood planks comprising the walls, and glances up at the towers where the goblin archers were previously. Without looking at The Bear, Gelgish respond Already did that, they're clean. Gelgish has trap-spotting, so he would get an auto-detect chance on any traps.
Once the group is ready to push forward, the dwarf lines up beside the larger half-orc and waits for him to open the door.

Ulrich tries to open the door.

Ulrich tries to force the door.
Str: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
"Its solid... either we break it apart or find another way in."

![]() |

Gelgish glances around for another way in, then looks up. Maybe climb over?
If there is no other way in, Gelgish has a +6 to climb. He could try to make it over and open the door, assuming no goblins immediately see him

![]() |

Gelgish nods briefly at Darpan's suggestion. Do it, but check for goblins when you reach the top so ya don't get swarmed
Your +7 Climb beats Gelgish's +6

Darpan Bala Manujyestha |

Darpan hands his bow to Chavana and then starts to climb the gate. Once at the top, he will look around for enemies before descending the other side and opening the gate.
Climb: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
try again if that did not work...1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25

GM Dak |

Darpan makes attempts to climb the fort, not finding good hand holds at first. Though moving to another spot he easily manages to get up and over the top of the wall on one of the towers, dropping down into the interior of the fort and opening it from the inside. Removing a wooden log that had been placed to bar the doors closed.
Inside the floor of this room is hard-packed soil, as if the builders either ran out of lumber after building the walls and roof, or as if they simply never thought about building a floor. A number of poorly preserved horse and dog heads are mounted along the eastern wall, while along the southern wall hangs a pair of large black-feathered wings tacked to the wall with daggers.

![]() |

Polearm at the ready, Ulrich quickly moves to try and open the double doors to the west.

![]() |

Gelgish takes in the interior of the fort warily, seemingly ready for ambushing goblins at every step. He follows closely behind Ulrich keeping a keen eye out for traps as well.
Check out this tower before moving on? Seems like we may have eliminated most all of the goblin threat, at least right here

![]() |

Ulrich moves to the northern door, opens it and unless foes are visible moves to the western doors and opens them as well.
