Erasmus:
You cannot destroy me and release me from this torment, for you are not powerful enough. Though there is a way. Kill the one that caused all the pain that created me. Over time, I can end this endless torment. Right now you may only temporarily defeat me. But I will return, and next time you will be my victim.

Once again the touch of the medium harms the haunt, but does not hurt it enough to cause it to dissipate.

Mavaro turns to Mother Wren, hoping to remember something that can help them in their current predicament. All he gets back is "..."

Meligaster looks nervously at his companions while biting his nails. He knows some of the others have more expertise in education, and perhaps will remember some way to get rid of the haunt.

"Take you time, take your time. It's not as we're in any hurry here. The barrel of ghostly wine looks terribly inviting, just like bar-hopping in Docks District back home."

If there's no info on the haunts weakness before Meligaster's turn, he'll take a move action to exit the room

Dice Rolls | Tactical

Though the Haunt communicates truthfully with Erasmus, it is Rivani who finds out specifics.

Rivani:
Weakness: None (only positive energy like all haunts); Reset 1 day (so after it is brought to 0 hp, the next day it can manifest again); Destruction: The black deeds of this terrible room can be erased by a lawful good outsider with 5 HD or more casting bless on the area; alternatively, the haunt fades 1 month after the BBEG is destroyed.

Dice Rolls | Tactical

So Estra and Meligaster have moved out of the room and into the hallway.

The pair of pathfinders move into the relative safety of the hallway, hoping that the haunt cannot effect them outside the room.

Ectoplasmatic waves swirl in the air, and once again the haunt turns if malevolent power on another pathfinder.

GM rolls:
Erasmus -1, Honarie -2, Mavaro -3, Rivani -4, Yoon -5 Target: 1d5 ⇒ 1

A feeling overcomes Erasmus. He begins to slowly walk towards the wine barrel. Again two large men appear, and the grip him by the shoulder. Pushing down violently, they thrust his face underneath the wine.

Erasmus Fortitude: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (19) + 9 = 28

Again the Pathfinders resist the call from beyond, and pulls himself to safety.

Erasmus is merely staggered for 1 round as he gasps for breath.

Yoon breaths a sigh of relief as the haunt dissapates.

"So the waitress got mad because of something that happened to the way of the kirin, and then killed everyone here? No wonder the old lady in town didn't want to talk about it..."

DC 25 Perception check:
Eramsus notices the shadow of a chest or box at the center bottom of the pool and tells you all. The pool is 5 feet deep in the center and 3 feet at the edges

"There is..." Erasmus begins, pausing his speech for a moment and pointing toward the communal bathing pool now fallen into decay. "...a chest, or box, in the center of that pool."

"I guess one of us is going in to get it," he says, involuntarily cringing as he truly realizes how filthy and dark the tepid water filling the pool is.

"Unless one of us has the means to get the chest out, without stepping in..." he waits for a moment, then finishes under his breath. "What do you think, King, is it safe?"

The Vudrani woman takes a look in the pool. She gauges the size of the chest/box, trying to figure out if it is light enough to lift with her Mage hand. Then , she goes ahead and casts the spell and tries to lift it out, assuming it weighs less than five pounds.

is that a no, then?

Dice Rolls | Tactical

That is a NO. The chest is more than 5 lbs.

Meligaster leans over to the pool, about to dip his finger in, but withdraws before he connects the dirty water. "Say, Estra... would your late hubby mind going for a quick dip? I doubt he'd mind getting himself wet and dirty."

Unless the water is poisonous or corrosive, that is. I wonder how that'd affect the old woman's spirit companion..

The halfling casts Detect Magic to see if the water is somehow supernatural, or just plain, mundanely disgusting.

Dice Rolls | Tactical

Meligaster casts his spell, and detects no magic.

"Let me have a go at discerning the nature of things," Mavaro demands. He brusquely pulls out one of the other detect undead scrolls and reads from it. He scans the water first, but then continues around to scan the rest of the room and the rooms nearby.

Came so close to having him dive into the pool. Then I realised that was Lort. Or Xûll. Or Arturo... or... yeah, I play the trap springers.

Dice Rolls | Tactical

Mavaro finds no presence of undead, except that coming from the floor above him, and very weak now that his position has shifted.

I might as well dive down and have a look. Seems like we can't be any more careful than we already have been.

"No undead down there, mes amis," notes Mavario, "Perhaps it will be safe to swim down there." The portly Varisian then proceeds to take off his outer garments, his armor and anything that will be damaged by water. The big man, belly bared, straps his longsword back onto his ample waist. He then dives into the pool to check out the elusive chest.

Swim check (if required): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23
