cool flavor but mechanically nothing happens, feel free to attack
Despite its name, this spell is not the equivalent of daylight for the purposes of creatures that are damaged or destroyed by such light.
Acre's Generic PFS Character |
:)
Erasmus runs in and attacks.
Move Action: move up to creature *token not yet moved*
Standard Action: attack
attack, starknife(haste): 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (1) + 15 = 16
damage: 1d4 + 11 ⇒ (3) + 11 = 14
Well at least Erasmus is standing closer now...
GM_TheBobJones |
Botting Meligaster as per instructions
Hurting my friends is she? Well, can’t have that.
”You grotesque b*%*$. I wouldn’t touch you with Mavaro’s prick. Come, look into my eyes. Feel what I feel. Let yourself become lost.”
Meligaster starts with his Bold Stare. -2 Will Save, attacks and damage rolls.
Following his stern gaze, Meligaster uses his wand to cast Slow, Will Save DC 14.
Minasako Will Save DC 14: 1d20 + 12 - 2 ⇒ (19) + 12 - 2 = 29
Minasako does not like that these intruders are taking all her fun away, not to mention they seem quite capable. She looks to Mavaro, and begins to cast a spell.
Mavaro Will save DC 20: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (15) + 10 = 25
Mavaro resists the spell of the penanggalen.
Mavaro you lucky bastard. No fun for me!
Up next Round 2: Rivani, Yoon & Meligaster; Round 3: Erasmus, Estra, & Mavaro
Current condition: Mavaro -5hp
GM_TheBobJones |
Erasmus take an AOO
attack, starknife(haste: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (8) + 15 = 23
damage: 1d4 + 11 ⇒ (4) + 11 = 15
Concentration Check DC 26: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (16) + 15 = 31
Though Erasmus manages to hit and hurt her, she still casts the spell.
Lufien's Pregen Character |
Estra's magical knife-helper continues to try to flail at Minasako, seemingly forgotten by the old woman as she ponders what to do next.
Spiritual Weapon: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27
Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
The woman decides on a course of action, moving in swiftly due to Erasmus' spell and settling next to Mavaro. "Let the knowledge of the next world be yours, friend."
Using Honaire's calm voice within her mind, a blur of spiritual energy appears between herself and the terrible creature.
Standard - Cast Guidance on Mavaro, Move - Move next to Mavaro, Swift - Bonded Manifestation, granting Concealment from ranged attacks until Estra's next turn.
Rivani 7 |
Since the thing appears to be a caster, Rivani will ready...
magic missile: 4d4 + 4 ⇒ (2, 2, 3, 1) + 4 = 12
Mavaro |
Looking back up, it seems as though Erasmus is still threatening her despite 'running' in. EDIT: Consolidated posts with a conditional.
Mavaro rushes forwards to stand by his comrade, "You need to fly higher if you want to escape me, chienne."
One-eyed sword vs Minasako, haste, guidance: 1d20 + 12 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 12 + 1 + 1 = 31
Silver slashing damage, two handed: 1d8 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 6 + 2 = 14
Mavaro looks up at the floating woman's head with matching innards, and mutters, "Two can play at this game, chienne." With a deep look of concentration, Mavaro draws upon the power of the magical headband to mimic his sword's power, and sets his mind to the task of defeating gravity.
Using 2 points of divination focus to mimic 1 point of transmutation focus to do "mind over gravity".
That done, Mavaro triumphantly floats up to just above the creature's height, cornering her between himself and Erasmus.
Mavaro |
Sorry about all of that, didn't want to pass up on the opportunity to hit the b*tch if she was within reach from the ground.
Meligaster |
Undead! Why it has to be undead all the time! And undead spellcaster! Oh, fate, you're really adding insult to injury
I hate this f*cking place!
Penetrating the creature's mind seems both very difficult and extremely repulsive, so Meligaster feels he better come up with something different. He drops the Wand of Slow, the useless stick it is. If he cannot harm the bïtch, at least he can try ruin her plans while his friends pound the shït out of her. Meligaster wiggles the fingers of his free hand, and points those deadly appendices towards the floating pile of guts - trying to make as recognisable rude gesture as the somatic movements let him.
"Come on, bïtch. Try your worst!"
Keep up Stare, Ready action if Minasako casts: Cast Dispel Magic to counterspell. CL 7 for caster level check
Oh, and 3 extra points of damage to Minasako when Erasmus hit her (Painful stare)
GM_TheBobJones |
Oh, and 3 extra points of damage to Minasako when Erasmus hit her (Painful stare)
I'll add that in and sorry about the quick bot.
GM_TheBobJones |
Mavaro and Estra move up and hit Minasako, both wounding her even more, whilr Rivani and Meligaster ready for her to cast again.
She is not flying high, so Mavaro can move and attack, which hits ;)
Up next Round 2: Rivani, Yoon & Meligaster; Round 3: Erasmus, Estra, & Mavaro

Of course it hits... the dice gods f@!&ing love me in your games! Now, when Jack is running for Lort at a Con with Painlord watching... oooh. Fickle gods they be.
Acre's Generic PFS Character |
Erasmus presses the attack with Mavaro, drawing back on his starknife and slashing wildly at the creature. His hand is steadier than it should have been, fear and doubt grappling with him at this moment, but his attacks were guided by the invisible and unwavering hand of the king. With the king's aid, haunting spirit gave Erasmus an unnatural strength he could never muster on his own.
"I'm with you, Mavaro," he calls. "Let's us bring her down and lay her to rest. Her wickedness shall come to end."
full-attack action
Attack #1 - normal attack
Attack, starknife(haste): 1d20 + 15 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 15 + 1 = 20
damage, starknife: 1d4 + 11 ⇒ (3) + 11 = 14
Attack #2 - granted by Erasmus' champion's Sudden Attack ability, this stacks with haste
Attack, starknife(haste): 1d20 + 15 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 15 + 1 = 35
damage, starknife: 1d4 + 11 ⇒ (3) + 11 = 14
Attack #3 - granted by haste
Attack, starknife(haste): 1d20 + 15 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 15 + 1 = 29
damage, starknife: 1d4 + 11 ⇒ (2) + 11 = 13

at least those poor rolls at the con gave us a term to describe bad rolls. So some good came out it :)
Papasteve's PFS Pregen |
Thanks for the Lockwood when I pulled a Damo :)
I believe technically it is called "Lorting the Roll"
Yoon shuffles forward towards the door. Her back is slightly bowed, and her muscles ache with each movement, doing a remarkable impression of Estra's normal gait. The pain from the built up burn is beginning to take its toll, but the determined little girl grits her teeth and ignores it while the evil remains yet to be vanquished.
Once again, she holds her arms out, and the air swirls and pops, the very energy in the room being drawn to the Pyromaniac.
With glowing eyes, she again reaches out, unleashing a sticky, orange blast at the floating creature.
normal blast Ranged Touch, EOverflow, Haste: 1d20 + 8 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 8 + 2 + 1 = 26 for Fire Damage, EOverflow: 4d6 + 1 + 4 ⇒ (2, 4, 5, 5) + 1 + 4 = 21
If that hits a touch AC of 26, then it does 21 fire damage (minus resistance... unless it is immune). She also will catch on fire for 1d6 per round until put out. This fire reduces her fire resistance per Yoon's searing flame ability. Would obviously not work if the creature is immune to fire. No accumulated burn this round due to gathering power to negate the burn caused by the burning infusion.
GM_TheBobJones |
Once again the thrusts of Erasmus and Mavaro, combined with the fire from Yoon are too much for Minasako to deal with. As the Pathfinders can see her lungs slowing, and deflating, and see the beating of her heart begin to fail, she gurgles, "Not .... my ... time... was. supposed to ... be ...."
And with that, she falls dead to the floor.
The Pathfinders immediately move to the desk, where they find a cache of papers related to the Way of the Kirin. As they leaf through these papers, they see a roster of members from the previous century, and not just from Minkai, but all across Tian.
Buried in the ledgers is her personal journal, detailing her evils accomplishments on her way to immortality. These journals explain the numerous haunts, the slaying of innocents, in order to achieve immortality. Until that is, they showed up.
Knowing what they know about haunts, the Pathfinders feel that over time, the undead that were unable to find peace in death will soon be able to now that their creator is truly dead.
GM_TheBobJones |
Life improves in Nagura—the townsfolk no longer fear to stay out after sundown or stray too far from home. Hinojai’s haunts fade a month after Minasako’s death.
The revelations concerning the Way of the Kirin set the Pathfinder Society abuzz. The Society has compelling reasons to suspect that the Aspis Consortium stands poised to form an alliance with the Golden League. That has driven the undercurrent theme of this expedition, and the factions will be redoubling their effort to make contact.
The Decemvirate makes discreet inquires about acquiring the Hinojai property as a regional base (once the haunts fade or are exorcised), hoping to tempt the Way to initiate contact. The Pathfinders should have a definite impression that the Way of the Kirin will be important in years to come.
Please feel free to post any wrap up comments.
