"Fire all you have!" Gwenhwyfar shouts. "That's going to eat us and blind us and what not."

"Hey, that's my favorite thing to do!" Abomentolor smiles.
He cast an empowered scorching ray.

Ranged Touch: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13

The plant looks badly burned.

Hector runs in pushing past Jimmy with his axe raised.

The plant attacks Hector on his way to it's trunk.

Which leaves Hector hanging in the air.

Tauriell grabs her bow and shoots an arrow.

Initiative Jimmy: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14

"Do I need to go get Hector?" Jimmy asks Gwen

Gwenhwyfar looks from Jimmy to Hector and back, desperation on her face. She can't decide what to say.

"I'll take that as a yes, please ward me." Jimmy says charging in.

The plant lifts Hector up into the air and tries to swallow him.
Swallow: 1d20 + 23 ⇒ (2) + 23 = 25

But he resists successfully. The plant's tentacles beat at Jimmy.

Confirm: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (9) + 13 = 22
Damage: 2d8 + 8 ⇒ (1, 7) + 8 = 16

Attack: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (18) + 13 = 31

"You're both in the way!" Abomentolor complains as he casts another scorching ray.

Ranged Touch: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (9) + 9 = 18

With that the plant withers and dies.

Jimmy helps Hector out of the plants clutches

"I'm so glad this is over. This plant could have eaten all of us and we would grow into new plants of that kind." Gwenhwyfar states. She still has goose bumps from that horrible thought.

"That went a lot better than the last time." Tauriell comments. "How are you Hector? You're really good at choking a plant by jumping in it's throat."

Hector is not satisfied with his performance. "Hmrpf."

Abomentolor looks around for magic auras. "I hope this thing was worth the hassle."

No it was not. No magic but the rooms sustaining magic and the illusion of the night sky.

"Well... lets move on, I don't like the vegetables served here." Abomentolor suggests.

Abomentolor leaves the grocery store and moves on to the centrifugal room where the next yet unopened door awaits. "Are you coming guys? I don't want to be late for lunch." As soon as everyone is there he opens the door.

"Not everyone came out of that fight without a scratch!" Gwenhwyfar calls after the gnome. She casts a mage armor on herself and a cure light wounds on Hector.

"Don't take too long or our gnome will do something stupid." Tauriell says and follows Abomentolor.

"With the experience so far I'd say I can't leave any of you alone. Not even for five minutes or you will try something stupid." Gwenhwyfar replies and follows too. "You can patch yourself up?" she asks Jimmy.

"Yes, thank you dear."

As all arrive Abomentolor opens the door. "Let's see what's in there."

A pair of large archways provide access to this circular room, its recessed floor covered in two feet of clear standing water. Glowing runes adorn the walls just above the water-level. Near the middle of the room stands a metal cage.

In the cage is a is a 7-foot-long, four-eyed fish. Trapped in the cage, its spines and tentacles stick out awkwardly between the bars. On its head
is a curious metal cap, with long wires that trail down and disappear beneath its body.

"Oh wonderful. Caged fish. Is he afraid of aliens stealing his thoughts, or what is the metal cap for?" Tauriell asks. She looks around the room from the doorstep. "As this is a Grodair there will probably be problems with water in this room."

Perception: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (10) + 22 = 32

"Aaaand the exit door is trapped." Tauriell tells. "So any ideas what to do here?"

"Disable it?" Niamh suggests with an isn't-that-obvious-look. "Isn't that something you can do?"

"Why, no. How many fish have you seen me disable?" Tauriell replies with the 'eat-me'-look.

"I guess I wasn't paying attention." Niamh mumbles pleadingly with her eyes low and a smirk playing aroud her lips.

"Someone want to shoot an arrow at it?"

"Why don't you ask Abomentolor. He has no problems killing an Azata. He for sure has no moral barriers to kill a caged Grodair. Only the part where is gets hard to burn it in the water might be a problem." Tauriell replies.

"What is so special about it? Could we just walk past?"

"I told you it attacked me first." Abomentolor complains.

"We could. But it can control water. As in flood half this dungeon with water from another dimension. And I don't think that Runelord placed it here for it's nice optics."

"You know what? Hector, you go in and rip this tin cap off the fish adn destroy the cage. Gwen, you go with him and if this goes bad you dimdoor both of you out. And once that is done I'll take care of the trap. What do you say?" Tauriell suggests.

Hector shrugs and looks at Gwenhwyfar.

"I'll take the wand. That is easier in case something bad happens." Gwenhwyfar replies and nods at Hector.

Hector moves into the room approaching the fish and goes for the tin hat.
Disarm: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (1) + 16 = 17

Gwenhwyfar follows Hector into the room.

Hector grabs not only the cap but also a bar of the cage and manages to do nothing.

The door to the room slams shut and the water rises to 10 feet height. And the trap goes off releasing electricity into the water

Hector takes a deep breath before the water rises above his head. Then he tries again to rip that cap off.
